  • One of the first games I ever had on the PS1, it was quite fun

  • i got a problem with this game i have the PC version its just starfighter. I tried installing it on my laptop but it says it does not support fullscreen. how do i bypass that?

  • can you upload the game for me?

  • @yosef019

I'm sure you'll find the ISO files pretty quick if you google for it.

  • Does this game use the Mission Stick?

  • @Monacomaverick

never tried it, but the game's manual says it's fully compatible. it even recommends to use the mission stick for playing.

  • @realcatgirllover Thank you! I will go out and buy the copy I found since I just got a Mission Stick. The graphics are a bit hard on the eyes, but mabey the proper controller will make it bearable! XD

  • @Monacomaverick

good to know people still collecting games for the Saturn...

I'd say go for the original 3DO version if you can. higher framerate and more responsive controls on technically weaker hardware just shows how poor the Saturn/PSX ports are done... :-/

  • @realcatgirllover I just bought the Saturn version, and it works quite well with the Mission Stick. In fact, this is the only game I have found that has the proper flight mechanics for it. Most of the time it sits around unused. If they would have put some effort into making proper background graphics it would be so much better to look at. The first levels look like I'm flying through PA!

  • @Monacomaverick

that's good to know. I used it to play Black Dawn, Black Fire, Space Harrier from the Sega Ages collection(since the arcade machine had a similar controller/stick) and Thunderhawk II, the later isn't even supported but you can get it to work with some trial and error. Stellar Assault SS also works great with the Mission Stick.

  • The first game I owned for my playstation. Great fun.

  • I have this game for ps1 and I've been looking for the soundtrack online for years now! does anyone know the song name and artists? all i know is the "death by stereo" and i cant find it anywhere! oh and how come the ps1 version does not say 3000 on it o_0

  • @MoparsBest Ugh me too!!! I had the PC version that was released and it came with the soundtrack on a separate disc, but my sister accidentally snapped it -_- I can't find it anywhere but on here, and there are only 3 songs on this site from the game out of the whole soundtrack. It sucks.

  • @xXDiCkXSqUaDXx

I ripped & uploaded the tracks. see video description for dl link.

  • @MoparsBest

a guy named John Avery did the score. did also some other soundtracks for Electronic Arts in the 90's, but not much after that.

  • this looks the same as the playstation one version

  • is that the actual music (since it's AWESOME!) or did you just put it over it?

  • @PoshGamer

    this is the ingame music

  • I used to spend hours playing this game...

and trying to remember upgrade combos...

  • Don't ask me how, but I had this exact version...

    On PC.

One of the games I grew up with, and I took pride in the fact that I got to the last level!

  • I had no idea it made it onto anything other than the original Acorn and 3DO.

Acorn version is still the best.

  • @mjptrapster negatory, 3DO is the best, even wiki agrees. :P I mean.. on the 3DO you've got more textures & can shoot through the terrain!

  • i have this game and saturn and just picked it up the 3do version and its soooo much better the draw distance just kills the saturn port strait away and it plays worse

  • I remember playing this game. It gave the player a lot of freedom for a game of that genre (and at that time of course). I just loved the fact that you could fly in space.

  • Turok in SPACE!

  • Ah 32-bit. Thats all we ever needed.

  • i just got it in a pack of 13 for the saturn. wanted to check it out here first. that music is kickass but i can imagine the controls being hard with the saturn dpad.

  • that music is so kick ass! great game!

  • the graphics look a bit more realistic for buildings and such for the saturn but the 3DO version was just downright better

  • DID ANYBODY BEAT THIS GAME? what's the ending like?

  • fuckin loved this game.

  • me too used to play for hours. never got to the final stage

  • Usually 3DO game had a pretty long draw distance, take for example Star Fighter and The Need for Speed. I would like to know the reason why this 2 particular titles it beats Saturn and PS1 in that regard. Sure those consoles versions have a better frame rates, but still...

  • The main thing I hated about the Saturn/PSX ports was that fog! Ugh. One of the coolest parts of Starfighter was flying into space and looking down on the earth. In the ports all you see is a white ball under you. lol
