the useful thing that we try to find, is already inside his head ;) this video is only the result, only people doing similiar things will understand that info.
i can understand that... idk, it seems like this is just a very random trial and error type deal... if you're looking to advance robot technology, consider the most practical uses and functions a robot will be expected to perform, and then go from there. i really dont see any efficient functionality coming from a machine like the one in this video.. not tryin to be a dick or anything, i think robots are cool, but this thing is just pointless.
i can understand that, but this seems like a completely random and inefficient "exploration". personally, i think if you're seeking to make advances in robotic technology, first consider the most common and practical functions robots will be expected to perform in the future, and then go from there, putting simplicity and efficiency before anything else... I just can't see any functionality coming from something like the design in this video. its a hobby, though, so as long as ur havin fun lol
No. It is not trial and error. We are researching on bio-inspired controllers for the locomotion of modular robots. The idea behind modular robots is to build self-reconfigurable robots capable of changing its shape to adapt to the terrain. Quite useful for planet exploration and urban search and rescue... but... you first should find suitable controllers. The one we are using can control this robot, and also snakes robots. It is very versatile. Not useless at all as you think
I know what they're for in general, but this specific example of a modular robot doesnt seem to do anything but a wierd truffle shuffle lol. btw, what do you mean "controllers"
@obijuancube certainly you could just imagine what this does in your head? why not skip ahead a little bit and make something more practical, at least if you want a good reaction from the retarded mass that is youtube
Attach vibrating dildos to each end...You'd make millions in the adult toy industry.....
