Well, I fondly remember the one time where I convinced my father to watch both seasons of the anime Gravion with me, since he was spending so much time with my little brother watching the likes of Full Metal Alchemist and BLEACH. He liked watching it, and the reason he gave was that it seemed more realistic than other super robot anime he had seen. SCORE!

I haven't failed yet, just got them interested in varying degrees. I started off one friend with Kamen Rider Kabuto, and we bonded over how much we hated Tendou Souji, how much we loved Sasword, and how much of a bro KaGAmi was. But that's as far as that went. He's not really interested in anymore. The other dude I got to watch Kabuto however, is totally into the Showa shit. He's a major V3 and Stronger fanboy. :D Also, I really love your figuarts reviews. Worked - When I started dating my wife 5 almost 6 years ago, she only knew what Transformers were. Me being the huge TF fan that I am and all quickly went to work changing that. I schooled her in everything TF, made her watch the original 4 seasons and original movie, and of course showed her the toys. She is still a loyal TF fan to this day.

I got my sister into anime in general. My weapon of choice: DBZ. Maybe it was the plot, maybe it was the action, maybe it was the overlong, mind warping stalls between either, but eventually she dug it. For years since we've started earning money, we both keep an eye out for animes of most sorts we'd like.

I started a couple of friends on Beast Wars, when it was on television(killed about four VCR's and countless weekday afternoons watching FOX KIDS in the late 90's). I once got a friend into Kamen Rider (ironically) fairly easily by saying, "Hey, bro, check out this movie," so he watched Kamen Rider the First, and he suffers from Baylemia, so the more explosions a movie has the better. Since Kamen Riders seem to explode on impact when they rider kick, he fell instantly in love with it. (He should see Infra-Man.)

One time I miserably failed was when I tried convincing someone to watch Digimon when I was really little, but I got, "It's a pokemon rip-off".

I got a friend into GaoGaiGar, I have yet to make him jump into Transformers yet, but he is receptive. My plan of action revolves Gurren Lagann -> GaoGaiGar -> Transformers. It is a logical flow chart.

However, never try to get people into mecha that 'hate mecha' but watch crap like Code Geas and Gundam SEED and deem that those are good series. Those kind of people are cut off from us forever and there is no reaching them because crappy mecha keeps sending them illusions of what real mecha is.

oh boy..i introduced my GF to kamen rider and she liked it. Starting out with Den O helped win her over and then built from that. I find that it helps to bring up a series like Den O, Double or Kabuto as they are fairly recent and funny/action pact enough to hold peoples interests (with out having to have knowledge of other riders in order to understand the show..such as Decade) and get them to like it.

Hmm, well there was this one time a bubble tea place opened up in my local mall when I was in high school. Growing up in Hawaii I had long since fallen in love with the stuff and took two friends to experience their fist. They both got really tame flavors like strawberry or something..
