One of the great bands of the 1970s. Their lyrics were so smart, they knew how to bake a tune, and with The Dean an I they showed a Roy Orbison touch with their impressive song construction. Very clever bunch of lads.
Went with my best school mate and saw them twice in the early 70's, front row both times, met them after each gig too ........ somehow bludged our way into their dressing room at Hove Town Hall in West Sussex ...... my first ever live band!
The audience just don't get the Frank Zappa thing LOL whoever they were into just wasn't 10cc. I would have given my left nostril to see these guys (I had tickets to see them twice in the 70s but as luck would have it they Canceled BOTH times) one being in Central Park NY and they were replaced with Mountain. the other time I just can't remember the circumstances (Old timers desease I suppose) LOL.
Yah, the audiance look like they are misplaced onto a different planet!! How can anyone be that cold and passive sitting in front of one of the worlds best band??
Dave I love this band. The song is funny, because Lol had to adjust his underwear to hit those falsetto notes, but they're funny. I liked "Sheet Music" the best.
Oh my...I think I've seen the singer on the far right...but @ that time he was the poster child for the Helium Society!! Just kidding...I've never even heard of this band...thanks for posting it though.
8umpti, you're making me laugh, have you checked out the beegees/more than a woman, they were a member of the Helium Society too, nevertheless, I like both songs very much!!!
@salmurph I remember going to one of those television shows in the seventies...Yes, boring looking, but there were rules and we were told when to clap, even rehearsed it...This is not actually a Concert!
I agree it looks miserable.... a parody on Doo Wop songs "Donna" with an audience who stand and watch as if they are at a funeral...:-)
yes very 70's dresscode,so much better than the glam style and the other colourful offerings of the decade, imagine them dressed as Slade or the Sweet! they would never had made it! They are a bit like Purple here.
Great to watch this! Esp to see Eric and Lol having fun here. And its also striking with the typically dresscode from the seventies - denim and lots of chains. Almost Deep Purple!

The main singer's name is Lol Creme. He might want to rethink that in the age of text messages.

Apparently, this song is about a seamstress called Donna who made Lol a pair of very, very tight trousers.
