I dont know why on every shooter out there you fly at turtle speed almost all the time (including silpheed the lost planet)
Man, the sense of speed all along this game was insane, i had the feeling i was going to crash into the walls and then rebound around the place all the time. And its not only this stage, the whole game actually "runs" at a speed a super-dogfighter should.
Think on this one, shmup programmers!!

I was curious of this version and have no idea how to get it to work because mine crashes. I own Silpheed: The Lost Planet on PS2 though, check it out if you want to (is in my file collection). Unlike you however, I sucked and got hit once before fighting the 1st boss, and combo-ed by him afterwards for being rusty of skill loss being too attached to other games, LOL!
this should be on 3ds
