Great song and video, what even makes it better is the interplay with the musicians and the audience. The crowd knows that the band is giving their all and the soloists are digging DEEP to put their personal stamp on it. Then Lionel comes in and just hits the ball over the wall with that outstanding vamp on the xylophones, 20 stars!!!!

I recently heard this version on local radio while driving and because it sounds so sweet I just had to shed a tear. Later, I called Bern, Switzerland to speak to one a singer--Sandy Patton--who sang with Lionel. I explained how emotional I became after hearing this song and that I felt compelled to call someone who had been close to Lionel just to empathize and to thank her for continuing this classic music abroad.

Yo escuchaba un gemido raro en la grabación y cuando tuve la suerte de ver en vivo a Lionel Hampton en Rosario (dos veces), ví que son sus exclamaciones al tocar. Esta es música eterna! El disco me lo regaló de joven un amigo de mi padre, Barnes, el gran escultor de Rosario.
