  • i say one thing about this band they showed up ....

  • Best Rock and Roll Song ever made.

  • Whoo-hoo! Excellent. I've bought this album at least twice (I'm old enough to have had vinyl failure). Amazing to hear it online, I've seen April Wine live. As an old fart whose hearing is going away, it doesn't matter so much about the stylus, cartridge, pre-amp and bass-reflex speaker technology anymore. This is kick-ass stuff.

  • This was the first song they played on the radio about 30 years ago i remember the day i heard it good band and good song

  • Saw them in concert with Judas Priest back in the day. It was cool!

  • im nearly 20 now... and i still play these songs on stage. 60's and 70's rock will last forever.

  • @Izak80

you have alot of catching up to do!!!! and im sure you'll discover alot of great tunes along the way.

  • @Izak80 Welcome to the party!!!!!!!

  • @mrzero39 I was invited a long back ago but thnx anyway ;)

  • @Izak80

If you look them up a bit,

you'll find that they started in '69.

Their drummer Jerry mercer just finally retired at 70,

    still doing extended drum solos.

    This band STILL rocks on!

People can make jokes if they want but most rockers are doing good to just SURVIVE past 27...

  • the best song they made

  • I know it's not cool to put someone down for having an opinion. But I'm doing it anyways. I really do feel sorry for the 6 people who dislike this song. It rocks. And I truly believe that if this doesn't throw your hair back nothing does and you do like music at all it's because it's the sound corporations are ramming down your throat and just use to those sounds. Be honest with yourselves. Nothing today is inspiring and if there a song here and ther that is it doesn't compare to the past

  • @heyman29323 i agree with everything but the last sentence.. you clearly havent listened to bands like mumford and sons, the john butler trio, and the dropkick murphys.. and other bands like that. there isnt much to say though, the 2000's have SUCKED in terms of music..

  • @heyman29323 right on

  • @heyman29323 truly believe what you say.BUT. your to damned polite! If people dont recognise this as a great rock song, rhen they bettter pull their heads out of theirr ass'

  • @heyman29323 They only clicked the dislike button because they are 12 years old and have not heard it on a GTA game sound track yet.

    Just my opinion. =]

  • Great Canadian rock!

  • @uchihaitachii88 Tell me about it. Todays music sucks.

Ever notice that so many new bands are doing remakes of our music era?

    Why???

Becouse they don't have the talent to come up with their own stuff.

  • one of the most under-rated bands ever

  • sry wrong concert, was Triumph we walked out on a fine Canadian band

  • Canada also has frank Marino rush steppenwolf, bto, riky pacquette so much talent out there ... keep rocking

You also forgot Prism, Headpins and Streetheart.

  • 4 people went to rehab in april?

  • yuou gotta be kidding.. 4 deaf idiots rated this song as a thumbs down?

  • @SIERRAHPBT They thought it was a penis a clicked on it! LOL!

  • That intro riff is so freaking awesome

  • Remember when it came out.Great song.

  • one of the LAST 8 tracks i ever bought..i LOVED this song..thanks for posting...my 8 track got eaten up by the player..lol

  • I Opened Up for these guys It was soo fun and miles good mans so nice

  • @camino884 what are you called? your band name?

  • @natebham My band names U-turn. we have a video up from the gig

  • The drummer was considered one of the best in the music industry ,the guy could play like 2 foot drums ,somewhere between 6 - 8 stick drums and 5 -6 cymbals ,with out missing a beat his setup was monstrous

  • @Harbringe Jerry Mercer

  • I like that these guys are Canadian. Fukn eh boys!

  • Also just add The Nature of the Beast could of sold like 10 to 12 million copies, but only did 1 million in the states which in 81 was not much it would be today. Harder Faster and First glance could of easily sold 5 to 8 million copies as well.

  • These guys are so underrated. Are mainstream acts like AC/DC, KISS, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen even aware of April Wine? if so they definitely dont get the credit they dissever Jerry Mercer is never even in the conversation for greatest drummer and he right behind Niel Peart in my opinion. Had a ton of hits, if they were from Detroit or LA they would be right up there with the Beatles. What a shame the band had it just could not break out to big markets in US.

  • 4 biebers

  • u tube ABBA

  • ABBA...no their Swededish

  • heres some killer Canadians artist (because we rock): April wine, BTO, Rush, Bryan Adams, Tragically hip, The Guess Who, Trooper, Triumph

  • in this order rush april wine triumph

  • Canadians or not............This song kix major ass

  • @uchihaitachii88 Admittedly, most rap is utter garbage, the so called "gangsta rap". However, there are those that send a positive message mixed with nice beats. If anything, appreciate the meaningful lyrics (however few there may be). e.g. Nas- "I know I can", various Immortal Technique songs, etc.

  • @gregboyds Fuck you. What you got against Canadians? Did we beat you in hockey? Did we do more for a war of yours than you ever could have? Have we saved more lives internationally than your country? Well, what the fuck is it? Oh, and since your channel is not available I'm gonna guess that your unwilling to accept criticism of your bigotry. Jackass.

  • @doublescotchonice you know how people are. They put things down that they think they know about to make them self's feel better. I've met a lot a great Canadians and never worried about where they came from besides the initial interest in a place I've never been.

  • My dad says he saw these guys play in his HIGH SCHOOL when he was a wee lad, and clearly when AR were tryin to make a name for themselves. Kinda interesting where big artists got started.

  • ...R.I.P. Jim Clench, you'll be missed...

  • Jim Clench R.I P

  • Not just some, LOTS!

  • @SlimeTron5000 april wine the best of all!!!! mexico,,

  • april wine was the shit back in the day. todays losers can't even come close to what real rock n roll is even like. none of todays losers has any talent or imagination.

  • @daddyishot2 Why keep calling people losers just because the music they play sucks ass? Most are not likely playing what they want or what they truly think is good, but rather end up playin what their record company wants them to play. It relates to the corporate media's coercion of the figures that have influence over masses. It's all about the money to them [corporate media], so don't always blame the artists.

    P.S. Name calling is childish.

  • @doublescotchonice I would say your half way correct on this. Most of today's artists are influenced by what they hear on the radio: corporate record companies selling a new product to it's listeners. "The new sound" which may not be very good, but It's what they play 24/7 and the kids end up liking it. It becomes theirs. Every generation has it's own identity and their will be a few that end up creating their own sound from the underground. Record co.s end up milking it to the end.

  • this is a great song...no videos of this?

  • @uchihaitachii88 same here its terrible

  • @uchihaitachii88 true that man , everyones into rap now it ruins everything

  • I Got Stung,Elvis

  • wow,i'm not blocked from this video,u won't see any comments from me on Elvis,I Got Stung

  • I love april wine but I just realized that the end of this song sounds exactly like the end of "how many more times" by led zeppelin skip to like 8 minutes in and you'll know what I'm talking about

  • @headlikeanorange close but not exact

  • 1978, my Senior year in High School, Damn , what a flashback, ass kickin rock, hot high school honey's, everybody had good "weed", I had just turned 18 and was old enough to "buy the beer". FM was in it's infancy, 8-tracks were moving to cassettes, and a lot of kids were buying FM converters

  • @oldrumer4u

A true description of "That '70s Show." I was only 11 in '78, but I remember some of the stuff you described. Cool time. Oh yeah, concerning disco. Check out concert ticket and album sales from the late '70s. Rock blows disco away. Rock was not dead in '78!!!!

  • The Greatest!!!

  • @SuperFresh3000 This is the BEST song they ever released. I thought this was Ted Nugent when first heard this in 1978.

  • 80's Canadian rock was crazy good. It's just too bad it dried up and rock from Canada sucks now with bands like Nickleback leading the way

  • Love this song I cant understand why people make negative comments about Canadian bands.I went to see this band in concert, let me tell you they ROCKED the place.I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE RUSH,TRIUMPH dont know how to rock.I gotta differ with you on this one and I am from the Ole USA.Thumbs up to our brothers up north.

  • @EmitRelevart Yeah, RUSH!

  • Good tune, I was fortunate enough to meet one of the members of the band at his cottage (believe it was Blair Mackay but might be wrong) that I did some work not far from where I live. Pretty cool in my books to meet someone from April Wine.

  • CKLW AM 80 Windsor Ontario,Canada was heard as far as new york on good nights and as far west and north as Colorado and eastern half of Canada

people are missing triumph, chilliwack, blue rodeo, april wine, ...

  • @Spiritonfilm lets not forget about rush , brian adams and crowbar . ohhhh what a feeling whata rushhh

  • Rush who?

  • This was always their last song in concert . BYE BYE. Great stuff, seen em' several times many years ago.Thanks.

  • I agree with ShellTrek somewhat, but I have to believe that Rush made US Radio Stations take notice of Canadian Rock.

But I do love April Wine and Roller is awesome.

  • Great band, saw them in manchester in '78, one of the loudest bands i've ever seen, the kick drum and bass guitar just thudded against your chest.

  • This was the song that made the U.S. Radio Stations take notice of Canadian ROCK!

  • I first started listening to this group in 1973 when I was ten years old and liked them since then until I found out that they are Canadian. Oh well, plenty of other groups to listen to.
