How do I get back to the Gargoyle? I walked past the entrance here and it wouldn't let me walk up to it. (I'm at the end of disc 3 and totally ready to take him on)
This is one of the most rewarding victory memories I have from videogame, especially because at the time you didn't have internet to tell you how to. It took me many tries to beat this bastard, and when I was finally able to do it, the battle felt like it took forever to end. With a good strategy, it took this guy 20 minutes, it might have taken me about 40 minutes back in the day!
yeah i think they where on the vestry, 1st floor... anyway, i dont need them anymore cause i finally beat gargoyle! :D with work and patience, i finally got roger's staff and kicked gargoyle's butt! :P now i have 2 awesome weapons: roger's staff and sacnoth! :)
well, yeah, lifedrinker is awesome and ill use it a lot of times too, and i dont intend to always use rogers staff everytime, cause like you said, thats no good sport, but i really needed it cause i wanted to defeat gargoyle and at least win sacnoth

btw, do you know where is the barred door that i need to blow the hell up with the nitroglycerin? cant remember (i stopped playing Koudelka like 5 moths ago, just because i lost hope on how to defeat that gargoyle bastard. i only started to play again now... :) )
I played this game a VERY long time ago, but i remember killing him by raising unarmed skill and equipping an item called Cat's Eye, there was also a spear that gave similar results. I put Edward and Koudelka right in front of him and left James back and to the left but still able to spear the gargoyle, and just ressed whichever person got oneshot until he died.
yeah i have fire scroll and if i use it on him with koudelka hits like 3000-4000 damage on him, erm are the scrolls just random or do i have to kill certain things for um? thnx btw
Actually I find it easiest to just to go into close combat with him and attack him until he dies. Using scrolls or magic just leaves you open to his longrange attacks which are far more deadly than his own physical attacks.

lifedrinker is good too and there's no sport in winning with Rogers staff

yeah he's a hard one your best bet is getting a bunch of scrolls.

very few enemies drop them you'd have to look it up in a beastiary on gamefaqs or something since this game doesn't really label monsters.
