i'm a tech fan i always have been...but as u saw in the orange bowl the option won't work at the bigtime level. we will prolly never win a bowl against a good team as long as we r running the option...if we do we're damn lucky because the defense have a month to prepare and it seemed as if during the orange bowl nesbitt wasn't pitching and making decisions as smoothly as he usually does b/c he's used to playing it and using it ina game weekly
if you're a tech fan, you should notice that whenever Tech plays games weekly, they get momentum going and the team starts to click. Tech kicked ass. then they had a week off for UGA, and as you saw the team wasnt clicking. same for the Orange Bowl. (not using that as a total excuse for a loss, but it does affect playing to a degree) also, Iowa had HUGE lineman that kept shedding blocks and getting to the backfield. it'll work. it's only PJ's 3rd year coming up. it needs time. Georgia Tech and UGA were in the same 3 conferences until 1968, and in each of those three GT had more than UGA. The ACC weakened Tech, but even taking that into consideration, UGA hasn't caught up yet.

Well, considering the fact that the playing field has NEVER been equal (even when Dodd was there), I think Tech has done pretty well over the years against what could be classified as a football factory.
Again, Tech does well considering the odds are stacked against them..... That's what makes a Tech win over Ga so sweet, & her fans so loyal...they KNOW its going to be more of a challange to win against a school like Ga. yeah, but im sure you remember that play where there were like 4 fumbles with knowshon and burnett which would have turned that 31-17 game around, but you did thrash us in the, i think, 51-7 game. and it is one thing if they are missed tackles (like on the roddy run) but tackling jonathan dwyer is not easy, you have to wrap that guy up. with your 'missed tackles' logic, i would say uga got lucky on the knowshon 4th down run, but knowshon is also really hard to take down, so it is what it is.
There were two fumbles and moreno chased down the player that got the fumbled ball and made HIM fumble... i wouldn't say dwyer got by with talent by georgia players just missing tackles and then say moreno got lucky when he shook one person off 5 yards before he reached the endzone. Dwyer got both of his touchdowns by players missing tackles, and that basicaly lost the game..

i'm a tech fan i always have been...but as u saw in the orange bowl the option won't work at the bigtime level. we will prolly never win a bowl against a good team as long as we r running the option...if we do we're damn lucky because the defense have a month to prepare and it seemed as if during the orange bowl nesbitt wasn't pitching and making decisions as smoothly as he usually does b/c he's used to playing it and using it ina game weekly

if you're a tech fan, you should notice that whenever Tech plays games weekly, they get momentum going and the team starts to click. Tech kicked ass. then they had a week off for UGA, and as you saw the team wasnt clicking. same for the Orange Bowl. (not using that as a total excuse for a loss, but it does affect playing to a degree) also, Iowa had HUGE lineman that kept shedding blocks and getting to the backfield. it'll work. it's only PJ's 3rd year coming up. it needs time. GO TECH!

This is a GT video... this was our year. The Jackets were better than the Dawgs in 2008. End of story.
Now, the past 7 years, sure, the Dawgs kicked Tech's ass. You can even bring up another 7-year streak in the 90s. My original comment bragged that Tech was better outside of the state than UGA, since Tech has more titles. UGA fans like to argue that by saying they lead the series and beat Tech 7 y.i.a.r. The only way Tech could be the historically better team is because of national championships, and they have just 3 more than us. UGA has a better bowl record, which I think could qualify as a better reason to say that we're the better out-of state team. And we have a MUCH stronger and more powerful fan-base, better tradition, etc.

The only reason UGA has a bigger fan base is that it has twice the enrollment and more bandwagoners than GT does. There's more history and tradition in our fight song than in the entire history of UGA....

Georgia Tech and UGA were in the same 3 conferences until 1968, and in each of those three GT had more than UGA. The ACC weakened Tech, but even taking that into consideration, UGA hasn't caught up yet.

But with more conference titles (only two of them ACC) and more national titles, on the national scare Georgia Tech has out-performed UGA. Tech still holds the record with 8 in a row...and notice how much UGA extended it's lead in the series by a wide margin during the "Jane Kemp Years," when so many young scholars (ha!) prowled the bulldog sidelines! Tech does pretty well when you consider some of the players UGA has taken over the years that many other universities wouldn't touch. Oh, and that "North Ave. Trade School" ranks around #7 year in and year out in the academic rankings of public universities in the United States.

I find it funny how Georgia likes to act like its different when WE celebrate a rare win over them when they did the same thing in 2007 with a rare win over Florida... if you could talk it up in 2007, whats the difference with us talking it up in 08? You would? remember the way we were playing that game, we had it under wraps until the defense decided to get cocky.. the offense did their job the whole game.. i seem to remember a few of those games not being close, you know, the one in 02 where we beat you 52-7.. and the few others were we beat you 31-17... really don't count on it this year.. you got lucky with those missed tackles that caused a 60 yard TD run.

yeah, but im sure you remember that play where there were like 4 fumbles with knowshon and burnett which would have turned that 31-17 game around, but you did thrash us in the, i think, 51-7 game. and it is one thing if they are missed tackles (like on the roddy run) but tackling jonathan dwyer is not easy, you have to wrap that guy up. with your 'missed tackles' logic, i would say uga got lucky on the knowshon 4th down run, but knowshon is also really hard to take down, so it is what it is.

There were two fumbles and moreno chased down the player that got the fumbled ball and made HIM fumble... i wouldn't say dwyer got by with talent by georgia players just missing tackles and then say moreno got lucky when he shook one person off 5 yards before he reached the endzone. Dwyer got both of his touchdowns by players missing tackles, and that basicaly lost the game..

the loss to lsu was disappointing but for a team that was projected to win only three games tech had a very successful year. you don't count success by one game. at least tech beat georgia. if i recall right, i think georgia embarrased lsu 52-38 in tiger stadium. teams have their on days and their off days. tech wasn't prepared for the lsu game. i don't begrudge a team for a successful season. i'm a tech fan but have always liked lsu. don't try to turn me against them.
