Ive never seen whitejacket npcs b4 or the waterfall O__o they have mushroom islands with mushroom cows and if u right click regular cows with a bowl u get milk but u do the same to shroom cows u get mushroom soup :D and use glass panes for windows much nicer

For the docks you should put pistons underwater connected to a lever and when you pull the lever the pistons go allowing the boat to not escape and when you pull it the other way the water can flow and you can freely use your boat

for mushroom farm make room off of a room and instead of a door put pistons and no lights in it. make the pistons open and let light and you in
