  • They are getting worse by the moment, they should really stop doing these top 5 things

  • Serenity... The Borg ship... Discovery One... Event Horizon... The Nostromo... The Elysium... Dark Star... any one instead of the wasted choice of Eagle 5...

  • Well said!

  • WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!! Spaceballs got a 56% on the Tomato meter?

  • bad american show star trek...hmm i dont agree. i could be better in those days but paramount pictures was exreme on budget.....budget is everything.

  • 3:19 but star wars fasn't t first movie to feature laser sword!

  • were the hell is the ship from 2001: a space Odyssey... or Icarus 2 from sunshine... hell the one from district 9 is way better than the space balls Winnebago and its just floating there the entire movie.

  • Where's the Satellite of Love?

  • You killed the Space Balls joke

  • the Serenity should be here to

  • wow this is utterly retarded.... the Enterprise, the Defiant, the Falcon all deserve to be Number ONE!!

  • I agree with some of the selections here, but, #1 should be, and is in my opinion, Deep Space Nine's USS Defiant.

  • The Kessel run has something to do with outrunning a blackhole, that's why it's measured in parsecs

  • I cannot believe the TARDIS was absent from this!!!

  • @TheHongKongertv Then they need to do top 5 time machines!

  • Dude I like how you put comedy into this.

  • i love the books for the #1, the movie was kind of a let down =\

  • NOOOO! DA ENTERPRISE IS DA BEST!!! nuff said.

  • I knew you were gonna make The Heart of Gold #1

  • Andromeda still pwns... The Tardis should be #2.

  • Comment removed

  • Serenity is #1, it single handly lured two HUGE forces into killing each other just to get a message on the internet, if that isn't an enormous effort for a ship that can hold at most 12 people, then what is?

  • Oh Brett, he was saying that the falcon was so fast they could cut dangerously close to the event horizons of the black holes that populate the Kessel star system.

  • i think i seed the Aperture Science logoin the #5 ship

And enterprise-E is the fastest ship, can move at 1909 C (times the speed of light)

  • i think i seed the Aperture Science logoin the #5 ship

  • you'll have to change this list once they'll do a Mass Effect movie.

  • I totally, but totally agree with this selection. *thumbs up*

  • Holy crap. I can't believe I called the #1?

  • How can Spaceballs only have a 56%, that just isn't right.

  • When I started watching this video I paused at number 5 and had the sudden erge to go watch "Galaxy Quest"...so I did...I still have 4 more space ships to go through...

  • Enterprise E, tossing people around? No way, that scene was cut from Generations! (Enterprise D)

  • death star

  • @TheBML2

That's a space station... You could also say "MEGA MAID". Thats that thing in space balls which was supposed to suck oxygen out of a planet. Imagine bilions of people choking to death. But not the death star, it has to kill them in instant... pff. Real Sith weapon must make people suffer! muhuhahaha

So yeah... if roten tomatoes would do top 5 space station list, the MEGA MAID would be the number one. :P

  • The Heart of Gold is a great choice for #1. Me being a Doctor Who fan, though, I'd have chosen the TARDIS.

  • Milenium Falcon FTW!

  • chipmunksyndrome Good point.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bowman373 You could've just said that the Kessel run was based on the measure of distance traveled and not a measure of the speed completed... then it makes perfect sense and there's no need for wikipedia

  • Falcon # 1, what about TARDIS, Serenity?

  • Subjective, but awesome nonetheless!

  • wrong enterprise

  • He's missing the point that when travelling the speed of light, which was done in Star Wars you measure distance and time in distance. Hence why lightyears is a distance...

  • GAY!! Millenium Falcon is #1....Serenity is #2!!!

  • actually parsec is a unit of length so if the falcon did 12 parsec in one sec then yah maybe its fast.

  • the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is only 60%?!? I think not!

  • Watching this guy try to be funny is painful.

  • "The millennium falcon? what could possibly beat that?" I thought to myself. "It can only be the heart of gold."

    Yess!

  • wheres the event horizon?? lololol

  • how bout the damn executor from star wars, its 17km long!

  • space balls is only good when stoned

  • No Serenity? For shame

  • Um...dude...the first clip you showed was of the Enterprise-E, the ship interior you showed of everyone being tossed around "whenever something lightly brushes up against it" was the Enterprise-D. We know you don't like Star Trek but for the sake of not confusing everyone (Star Trek Generations and Star Trek: First Contact had two different ships, D and E, respectively), get your letters straight.

  • Um, which Enterprise? There've been 6 (7 if you count the disaster of design in the reboot). And your clips showed scenes from two different ones.

  • WTF NO GIANT CLAW?!

  • Needed Serenity.

  • MILLENIUM FALCUN SOULD HAVE BEEN F**KEN NUMBER 1. ARE YOU GUYS ON CRACK??? ITS THE MILENIUM FALCUN FOR F**KS SAKE!!!

    ...I love star wars.

  • No other ship can beat TARDIS!!!!

  • I guess since the Tardis counts as so many other things then just a "simple" space ship, it does not go on this list, sadly.

  • Interesting he starts off with asking people not to get carried away in "childish emotion" then claims his review is actually ranking star ships and not movies then goes on to say which movie he loves? Yeah....as for the falcon. Han Solo says they did the Kessel run in 12 parsecs; meaning to say they could also probably find the shortest route to add to their ship's legendary speed. Of course it's always cool to cover up a review that is truly just another "My favorite 5 ships" with comedy.

  • where's the Derelect and where's the freaking TARDIS?

  • @halfbreed1426 whats the Derelect and the, um, TARDIS?

  • @Xwannagod

Time And Relative DImensions In Space, from Doctor Who :D

  • @halfbreed1426 The crashed ship from the first Alien. And The TARDIS--Time and Relative Dimensions in Space--is the ship of a time traveling aline xalled the Doctor (real name unkown) which is the size of a whole world on the inside, but only a 1960's police box outside.

  • +Captain Harlock's blue arcadia, is the best ship of them all and it has a human brain inside a two story high computer!

  • Someone shut this douche up and show the space ships!

  • If you look at the Star Wars galaxy, and focus on the Kessell Run, you'll see that it's a route through dangerous territory with galactic obstacles (asteroids, nebulas etc...) and Imperial controlled space. The fact that the Falcon made the trip in less than 12 parsecs means that the ship took a less than conventional (and more dangerous) way through the Kessell run. So the statement can therefore be correct, but is more a testament to Han's piloting skill.

So you can run tell that!

  • @bricort1 This mythos was retroactively constructed to correct the original error. There is no way the phrasing was originally intended to be anything other than indicative of the speed of the ship. Unfortunately they picked a unit that does not measure speed but distance.

  • @bricort1 this thing made the trip in less than 12 parsecs-han

    wow thats awsome-luke

you just cut the corner didn't you-leia

    "grumbles" hooker-han

  • Parsecs: a unit of linear measure (very large). Short for 'parallax second', or second-of-arc-of-parallactic displacement-as-seen-from-Earth-in-its-orbit for a year's time (or maybe half a year's time. Depends.) Approximately 3.26 light years. Or 31 trillion kilometers.

So, less than 10 parsecs means, less than 310 trillion kilometers.

"In what space of time, Mr. Solo? bearing in mind, that the Force is not impressed by mumbo-jumbo and wordage. [*wheeze, puffff*]"

  • @UpSky2 Glad someone else caught that. I'm no atronomer, but I was surprised no one else heard of a parsec. Well done.

  • 500 bananas. LOL.

  • Yarn-reality

  • Seriously.. a lame road vehicle with wings is 'cooler' than any of the other ships in Star Wars (the X-Wing, the star destroyer, etc..) or any other sci-fi movie or series for that matter?

  • quite honestly I think the Enterprise E is a lot cooler then the others on that list, and I'm not much of a Trekker.

  • Long live the Falcon!!!!

  • Galaxy Quest ftw

  • I love to read the comments to this video, such hate

  • The Enterprise at #4? Really? Fuck you. Fuck you all to hell.

Star Trek set *the standard* for sci-fi.

  • @kb7rky He said very clearly that they were not talking about the *show*, but the design of the ship itself.. and quite frankly, the Enterprise is just a bona fide flying saucer with 3 turbines

  • @billstpor You do have a point, but still...#4?

    I AM DISAPPOINT

  • Why oh why must they steal from Blue Harvest

  • Just so you all know parsecs are a workable unit of measurement for the Kessel Run because you have to go next to a huge mashup of black holes known as The Maw. The Falcon went closer to the Maw during the Kessel run than any other ship.

    Owned.

  • Heart of Gold, F-Yeah!, but the TARDIS should be the top

  • How could they leave out Serenity.

Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down -Malcolm Reynolds

  • Dr. Evil's Penis Rocket should have been number 1.

  • HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY

    yeaaaah

    one of my favs

  • Oh yeah, You can go 500 bannanas an hour.... Chuck norris can go 600 Watermllons a second.....

  • @usernamen0tfound best comment ever

  • @usernamen0tfound

    oh yeah?

well i can go 1000.. wait.. what's a bigger fruit than a watermelon?

  • @usernamen0tfound 7000000 pumpkins a milisecond for me

  • The Imperial Star Destroyer....The Death Star.....The Tie Fighter....The X-Wing.....The Y-Wing...Boba Fett's Ship..That Big ballsack looking trade federation ship in attack of the clones..Admiral Ackbar's It's a trap Scene in his Flagship Mon Calamari cruiser..these people are retarded...and don't know the powa of Star Wars....

  • falcon vs eneterprise the ncc 1701 uss enterprise would destroy it

  • its tim allen! ITS A TRAP!

  • Icarus 1/2 should be on this list as well.

  • I wish I could go at 500 bananas an hour.....

  • I've read the HitchHiker's guide! IT WAS AWESOOOOOOME!

  • Mos Def was great in The Hitchhikers Guide.

  • I totally called the Heart of Gold being #1.

  • HOW VERY IMPROBABLE....also 42

  • These videos are so cool! How have I never stumbled on them before?

  • Great list! Yeah for the Heart of Gold!

-Concerning the Enterprise. Ya, with all that tech whatever happened to seatbelts? They put too much faith in Inertia Dampeners.

-Concerning Parsecs. Remember these folks may LOOK human but they are from a Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away. Maybe there a parsec IS a measure of time!

Missing: The Imperial Shuttle because its snazzy and the Martian War Machine from the ORIGINAL War of the Worlds: cool, powerful, unique and great sounds.

  • Seriously, no one mentioned the Imperial Super Star Destroyer "Executor"?

  • i have to agree with pretty much all of that

  • SERENITY.

Because a ship like that will be with you till the day you die.

  • event horizon ship. that baby turns u insane to kill other crew members. nasty

  • The TARDIS should have been number 1

  • @grim1020 So true, but unfortunately it's from TV. The Enterprise is too, but at least it has lots of well known movies attached to it.

  • @grim1020 No stinkin phonebooth is gonna make this list!

  • Comment removed

  • @grim1020

Unfortunately this is about MOVIE spaceships... the last time the TARDIS was in a proper MOVIE was 1965 or whatever. And it didn't make a terribly good impression.

  • @grim1020 The T.A.R.D.I.S. is far too cool to be #1 in a shitty Rotten Tomatoes list. They don't even know why the Millenium Falcon making the Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs makes it the fastest ship in the Galaxy (if you want a detailed explanation, please refer to the Expanded Univers OR send me a message) XP

  • @grim1020 spaceship not timeship.

  • @grim1020 the tardis isn't nesicearaly a "space ship" it is mainly a time machine. a "time and relitive demintion"

so i guess 50\50. either way this was focusing more on strictly spaceships

  • @RobbyC738 : Closer to a "time ship". It doesn't just travel through time, but also physical points of space.

  • @squidb8 Yet it also has the ability to fly visibly, not just teleport.

  • @grim1020 it isn't a spaceship, its something all of it's own

  • @grim1020 technically the TARDIS is a time machine, not a space ship. it still owns any way you put it though.

  • Nice choice for #1. I didn't possibly think it would even make the list, due to the movie version being somewhat of a flop, but I agree with the choice.

I wouldn't have minded seeing the ship from "Flight of the Navigator", but this was a great list, and maybe a top ten list would have been required for that ship.

  • @Oxydox

technically, the tardis is a police box, but ya know, whateves.

  • Brett, YOU are the coolest spaceship of all time.

  • HELL YEA!!! Hitchhikers ftw!!! any spaceship can shoot lasers 'n' blow shit up... but only this one can turn you into a couch =D oh 'n' by the way if ur wondering the answer is yes the improbability drive is way faster than 12 parsecs

  • @liquidTTwolf ditto! hitchhiker's guide was the most intelligent and interesting s-f i've ever seen. and i'm a trekkie ;D

  • check this vid watch?v=4A1XaX9ngqo

  • did this guys heard about stargate?

  • how did spaceball one not make the list it took up the first 2 and a half minutes of the movie and what about spacemaid "Shes gone from suck to blow" the best line in any movie EVER

  • What about the Noramandy-Oh wait thats from a videogame, never mind.

  • If one knew Star Wars lore, one would know that the Kessel Run is a measurement of how close a ship can pass by a black hole without being sucked in. So, by revealing how many parsecs away he could travel, he was showing how fast his ship was.

  • @george013

And if one really knew Star Wars, one would know that this is stupid shit they made up afterwards in order to cover up the stupid shit Solo says. The original script even said it's supposed to sound like bullcrap he just made up to impress Obi-Wan and Luke.

  • the tardis should have been number one!!!!

  • @weirdworldman877 What Movie? "Doctor Who: Revenge of the Beast?"

  • @FleishDawg

The 1996 movie simply titled "Doctor Who" as a matter of fact.

  • @weirdworldman877 t.v show not a movie so shut the fuck up.

  • @pathofoblivion

Actually there was a 1996 Doctor Who movie which was simply titled "Doctor Who".

So why don't you do a bit of research before insulting me. Also, I see a hell of a lot of comments about how the TARDIS should have been number 1, so obviously I'm not the only one you fucking cunt.

  • the tardis should have made this list.

  • @andeains yes!!

  • @andeains What Movie?

  • Aw come on, they didn't put in Serenity from Firefly?

  • YES!! The heart of gold won!!! I LOVED the movie AND the BOOK!! yay marvin!

  • finaly good reviev

  • You would think the Galactic Federation in Star Trek, the same civilization who invented the warp core and managed to (with the aid of the Vulcans) get to Warp 9, would've developed an Inertia Canceller and have it installed in every single one of their ships.

  • You're right. I would think that. If i didn't have a life.

  • hey what about the Minbari Whitestar from "Babylon 5" or the Minbari Warcruiser or the Vorlon Warcruiser or the ISA Excalibur from the babylon 5 spin off "Crusade"?

  • heh what about the 2001:a odyssey ship. only space ship to first try to kill you, then send you into a monolith, which in turns you into a being of pure energy.

  • common parsec is the unit of lenght....

  • Obviously, they're lumping all the Enterprises into one, though some are clearly better than the others. (Personally, Enterprise-D is my favorite.)

As for ships that didn't make the list, I'd have to include the mother ship from ID4. It's not a hero ship, but it is pretty awesome if you want to move your entire civilization from one planet to another. Although, it is Very susceptible to computer viruses.

  • Oh, yeah, and Planet Express Ship from Futurama. It may not have been in a movie, exactly, but it was frickin' awesome.

  • How the HELL!!!! did Spaceballs only get 56%, it's a CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!. And plus, where's the Discovery 1 from 2001: A Space Odyssey ?

  • @jowoltma I'm sorry Dave, they couldn't rank that.

Plus, if you can't even open a pod bay door manually, there's something seriously wrong with the ship.

  • @jowoltma obvioiusly you didn't watch the first 42 seconds of this vid .lol

  • i rly love the ship from Star Wars - ep 1, that slim silver ship is just awesome

  • Comment removed

  • Nerd cap on: Death star is not a ship, its a space station. Nerd cap off.

  • @theinsane102 im sorry i meant to say super star destroyer

  • It's also no moon.......hahaha

  • I admit, the Enterprise E is the only ship I have ever found to be sexy; truly pleasing and sleek in it's aesthetics. Like a concept car you wish to god they would really build. Only it's a ship.

    My personal favorites (from anywhere):

    1.) Galactica (the new one)

2.) Talyn ( from Farscape. Forget serenity, this ship actually was a character in the show)

    3.) Catalyst (EVE online)

    4.) Goa'uld Ha'Taks (Star Gate)

5.) The Hiigaran Mothership 2 (from Homeworld)

  • All I really care about is being captain of this shit!

  • spaceballs got 56%? that's gay! it should be like 90 at least

  • @hookedonsaxophonics it's 65% now...but it still should be more

  • Yes, number one was the one I wanted!

  • Completely unexpected and absolutely wonderful. Should be shoe-shaped, though.

  • they should just go ahead and have Brett do everything.

  • When I saw the video title I immediately thought of the Millenium Falcon and the Enterprise E from First Contact, glad to see both in.

  • I concur with The Heart of Gold...badass ship.

  • It wasn't a movie, but I nominate Moya, the living ship from FARSCAPE. Granted, she'd have to be low on the list since she was nearly killed every episode.

  • Ebon Hawk anyone? ANYONE?

  • Such a knockoff of the Millenium Falcon. I mean, WTF were they thinking?

  • SERENITY!!!!!!!!!!! beats everything!!!!! ( except maybe the millennium falcon. ) It's firefly class makes it very fast and full of hiding places, ideal for smuggling and hiding people.

  • Yes, Serenity does beat everything. Just because it's the one ship that is a character in the show/movie...it's more than just a spaceship, it's home.

  • What about the spaceship from 2001. Its so cool it will kill you.

  • if you take away the emotion, you take away imagination and if you take away imagination sci fi ceases to exist ^^

  • Yay the falcon is on the list. This making it a good list lol. 77% for Return of the Jedi? Rotten tomatoes is seriously made up of snotty critics with super high standards. Every star wars movie except for maybe one and two deserves at least an 80, yes the third one included, it was great.

  • Nostromo

    Dark Star

    Osiris

  • I just have to say TARDIS !!!!!!

(Time And Relative Dimension In Space)

It can go anywhere in both time and space. On top of that with an outside no bigger than an old British police box its interior is the size of a major metropolitan city!!!

From BBC's long running sci-fi "Doctor Who"

  • #1 ship for me was Spaceball One it had a mall, a three ring circus, a zoo, and could transform into a giant maid

  • You forgot Mr. Coffee, a staff of assholes, and...LUDICROUS SPEED!

  • LOL!!!!!

  • Thank you.

  • No ones gonna read this anyways. What's the point of even posting a comment. Marvin is the best robot on the best ship.

  • I totally agree with the number one spaceship! That's the best. Zaphod's hilarious.

  • What? This is insane? Pap! My list, no particular order 5. Discovery One in 2001 A Space Odyssey 4. UFO in Close Encounters of the Third Kind 3. E.T.'s ship in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial 2. The Tardis in Doctor Who (Space travel is a function of time, so it counts people!) 1. The Spacing Guild Heighliners in Dune Honourable Mentions: The Thunder Road in Explorers (River Phoenix, dir. Joe Dante) The Death Star in Star Wars IV and VI Borg Cube in Star Trek: First Contact
  • 500 bananas an hour. Hahaha
