I loved this book! Someone suggested reading the original Dracula first, but I was already into this book, so I read the original Dracula after. Even if you've watched every Dracula movie ever made, read the book, it's not the same. I found myself thinking, "oh, that explains it" a few times through the book. I wish I had read the original Dracula and then Dracula the Undead.
Francis Ford Coppola needs to make a sequel with all the original cast members from the 1992 version. In the 1992 version dracula was killed with a sword. You cannot kill a vampire with a sword. You have to use a wooden stake. I think a lot of fans who liked the 1992 version of the movie would like to see a sequel.
@garavaliaj In the movie Dracula dies, and gets taken back to heaven, so there is little chance of doing a movie based on Darce stoker's version. In the book Dracula dies at the hands of a bowie knife, and yes dies there too. Hence the notion it has to be a stake is untrue. The "sequel" is pretty campy albeit enjoyable. For that reason alone I sincerely doubt Francis would want to direct another Dracula film.
@ZukosPrettyPrincess In Francis Ford Coppola's version Dracula was killed with a sword. You have to kill a vampire with a stake through the heart. So technically Dracula is not dead. Please Mr. Coppola, Make a sequel with all original 1992 cast members. It would be so great.
Just finished reading the book and was really impressed, also met Dacre Stoker at the book signing and was a really nice guy.Hope they do the film well...This 2nd book is based on some of Bram's writings and Ian Holt is regarded one of the top Dracula 'historians' around
about half way through the book and it's pretty awesome! I mean, it's no great work of literature or anything, but it's a great read and i highly recommend it.
That was an AWSOME book. The Stoker family has done it once again!

Excellent book! This is Dacre Stocker and Ian Holt's first book, and I hope it's not their last.
