@crzyrpr you realize not all states have the same gun laws right... you must be an idiot. Last i checked mass is the only state that requires a fid card. this boy lives in Illinois where the gun laws are still messed up but black powder and shot guns are preferred by the state. Here in my state Missouri at the age of 10 you can walk around with a gun on your hip without anything being illegal. its frowned upon but children can handle guns. at 16 i was buying ammo and parts for godsake. its his.
Yes you got a great deal. You have pyrodex, it is a substitute for BP. I dont like it, it leave a sticky residue in the barrel after you shoot it . One thing to remember you cant keep a BP weapon too clean. I would get your dad to buy you some Goex ffg powder, its the best. Get with someone who knows BP and learn all the safety you can. It is dangerous, but can be great fun and is an awesome hunting weapon. U need any advice email me at , thesentry0454@gmail.com.
Not a bad purchase there kiddo!! I was I could stumble upon something like that a garage sale.
FYI, Cabela's Bp guns are actually made in Italy by Investarms. They make a relativley affordable yet good quality gun.
Make it your "best interest" to READ all the instructions that came with gun and check out "Muzzle Loading Forum" online for any questions that may spring up.
Welcome to the world of black powder and enjoy your new investment.
Read Instructions Very Well before you even attempt to load and fire this weapon. Have an Adult or Parent supervise you while assembling and loading. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HANDLING BLACKPOWDER. This is Not a Toy.
Watching this video tells me that you are not very familar with Blackpowder weapons. Read the Manual and Follow the instructions very carefully. This is a Dangerous and Deadly weapon in the hands of an inexperienced shooter.
the part on the stock that flips up is called a "Patchbox" it is for holding your patches. it is good to see that kids are shooting black powder, it is a very fun hobby! by the way don't dry fire it, will ruin the cone/nipple. that is a very beautiful rifle and you are very blessed to own such a fine piece! make sure you use a patch, don't just drop the ball in there.
