  • Plummer and Mason? Together they could build a brick shit-house. HAHAHA! WOW! CLEVER!

  • Take no notice of the troll below. This video is top notch! :-)

  • a rather poor and lackluster trailer, it gives too much away and the scenes are poorly chosen and go on too long to give the movie pace.

i enjoyed this film in 1979 at the cinema, it was an old fashioned movie with some interesting chills /9plus a jaws like theme during the attacks strangely enough) a good cast of veterans too.

  • Man,theres a lot of spam in the comments.

  • OTTIMO FILM...GRANDI ATTORI....STORIA CHE SFOCIA SUL SOCIALE.....MOLTO BELLO!!!

  • Jaws music... hahaha

  • Check out Through the eyes of Robert Lees - the concept album by Lee Small (based on this film!)

  • la mejo pelicula sobre jack el destripador fueron los masones

  • Other than the Jeremy Brett Holmes version, this is my absolute favorite Holmes outing. It's amazing dark and spooky. I'm proud to own it on DVD.

  • Such a great movie. Very creepy at times. Really good production. FYI: the director whose name I think is Bob Roberts, directed the original "Black Christmas" with Margo Kidder...remember that one? Also very creepy.

  • Bob Clark directed the original Black Christmas.

  • This has to be my favourite sherlock Holmes film. The scene in the asylum always gets me as we see holmes feeling emotion . A fantastic film and Plummer and Mason are well matched. Its a pity they did not do more holmes films together

  • I believe this movie was actually made to discredit Michael Dibdin's THE LAST SHERLOCK HOLMES STORY from 1979. In that story, Sherlock Holmes WAS Jack the Ripper...

  • What?! In this film Sherlock Holmes is jack the ripper?

  • No. In THE LAST SHERLOCK HOLMES STORY by Michael Dibdin, Sherlock Holmes was Jack the Ripper. Imagine Stephen King writing a Sherlock Holmes story... you'd have Dibdin's version. This movie was made to DISCREDIT the book, I believe, and I glad that it was!

  • So in The last Sherlock Holmes Story by Michael Dibdin SHerlock Holmes was jack the ripper.....mh this is a very strange idea.

  • Yeah. But it fits into the Liberal mindset of bringing down " 'false' idols in high places"... like making Jesus into a hippy or an adulterer... Nothing is sacred with these types! Except Abraham Lincoln and Him crucified! Him who brought forth upon the continent The Left as a permanent warring fixture with the rest of the nation! He's their only 'God',and only so far as he makes their party politics possible!

  • haha man u lost the war and now u even have a black president! liberals 1:0 rednecks .... oh wait, this video has nothing to do with politics at all ...

  • I think that it is almost safe to say that the Jaws theme is a ripoff of the music that plays early in this trailer. (This movie was released in the 70s, and the first Jaws was released in the 80s.)

  • lmao you tool. Jaws was released in 1975, you know 4 yeasr pervious.

  • it's the old "final solution" story. but the creepy scenes in the fog are great -- in this kind, it's one of the best ripper-movies.

  • Way back when HBO first debuted, and it was only on the air from 5pm until like midnight, this movie was shown MANY times. As a kid, I could not believe how unbelievably good and scary this movie was. I have not seen it in well over 15 years, and am looking forward to buying the DVD. EXCELLENT movie!

  • Bought it today at Walmart for $19.99. Special edition. Was really excited to get it. This is a really good film.

  • please can someone upload this movie!!!! thanks

  • Put the rest of it up!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Christopher Plummer's performance is by far the most rich and intense interpretation of Holmes I have ever seen (and I have seen many of them). I saw this film for the first time when I was a child and I still remember being so much upset after seein Plummer/Holmes crying: how is it possible that Sherlock Holmes cryes?! I thought. Incidentally, now that I am grown up I find irresistibly sweet to see Chris's enchanting eyes full of tears... :P

  • "Seeing", sorry.

  • I would have loved to seen Jermy Brett play holmes in this

  • Gosh me too!! Though I think this actor is very good, not so much physically as Holmes but he brings an unexpected warmth to Holmes (as Jeremy did).

  • Don't look into the rippers eyes.

  • Great movie! Scared the bejezus outta me as a kid. And I loved the sherlock Holmes tie in to Jack the Ripper

  • jeese, i wanna see this!

  • A good film. Dated but enjoyable.
