  • I love this guy!

  • "In 2001, he became World's Strongest Man 2001" as opposed to doing it in 2004?

  • "I'll be back Mr. Pudzianowski" LOL

  • "Enough history. You all knew I was handsome. That's no big secret. Looking at half naked men not make you strong. Let's get down to business and go training."

    Awesome.

  • Svend had great personality, like Jon Pall.

  • inspirate hahaha still awesome viking power

  • Svend "viking Power" Karlsen

  • best trainingvideo ever

  • @mrechvok - Thank you! & I'll check that out.

  • Any idea what the classical piece is in the beginning of this clip?

  • @aprilkittykatt

its dance of the knights by Prokofiev

  • THOR IS HERE, ODIN IS HERE, HOW CAN YOU MISS!

  • welcome to valhalla...

  • is there a documentary about maurizs? dunno if i spelt that right, but if there isnt there should be :p

  • the bodybuilders are gays compared with this kind of monsters!

  • -[][][][][][]---------------[][][][][][]-

  • svend is an animal. he and magnus are really the epitome or the northern genetics. pure fricks

  • No its thor is here, odin is here, how can you miss!!!!!!!!! Norwegian gods!!!!!!!!! Of powweeerrrr!!!!!!

  • Remember this guys, you don't have to be able to have 1rm in the 1,000lb range to be worlds strongest man. Most of the events aren't even very heavy to these guys and it's about being in good shape too. Events like the Africa stone, giant dumbell press, farmers walk, super yoke, deadlift hold, atlas stones and others are about how many reps or how long and fast you can carry something, not about how powerful you are

  • What does he say after the log press world record? Something like "...is here, all that is here, how can you miss?"

  • @LegendKillerJosh I think he's referring to the Viking God "Odin"

  • VIKING POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He works out all by himself? Seems lonely and dangerous..

  • @some5672

    And awesome.

  • @stuqua

    Yes, and also awesome.

  • He's a blessed man when it comes to his body indeed. I kinda sit here and watch in awe, great inspiration for an ectomorph like me

  • "You don't get strong watching half naked men, let's get to work"

  • VIKING POWER

  • Oh please shut the fuck up about the steroids already. Go lift some weights and stop making excuses

  • "Looking at hot naked men wont make you strong... Lets get down to training!" hahaha

  • wiking power!!!!!!!!

  • Does this guy not use steroids?

  • @joughin88 who said he didnt?

  • whats the name of the song in the intro?

  • @Demian164 dance of the knights from romeo and juliett.

  • anyone know the song playing throughout the video by any chance? the kinda techno one

  • 185 kg Log Lift .. well, that's Savickas' first warm-up set :P

  • When I look at svend I know I can do it! Because I am norwegian to:)

  • Sven had kidneyfailure and subsequent transplant a few years ago. It doesnt come cheap to be a strongman.

  • THOR IS HERE, ODYN IS HERE, HOW CAN YOU MISS!

  • @MrJamesc91 Odin, not Odyn

  • @MegasKelevra

The way you transliterate into English matters only when it sounds correct. There is nothing wrong with him saying "Odyn".

  • @Vovk3 LOL, off course it matters! Its Odin, his name is Odin with an I not Odyn with an Y. If he had been standing in front of him, i wouldn't have cared less if he said Odyn instead of Odin. But when he write it down and post it, make sure its correctly spelled before pressing post!

Is it ok to spell Chyna instead of China? Germani instead of Germany? NO!

  • @MegasKelevra

Thank you for admitting you know nothing about transliteration. Odyn is the original name of a Norse god. How we transliterate this into English can be done several ways. Odin, Odyn, Odinn, ...

As for China, it is an English term for the country. So, of course, ""China" is the only way to spell it. Same with Germany.

Either you learn to understand the difference or I suggest you keep your mouth shut.

  • @2:32

that's 3 World's Strongest Men: Janne Virtanen, Jouka Ahola, and Sven 'Viking Power' Karlsen...

  • Super wide back!

  • look at 3:05

  • Song ID plz? So fuckin sick, old school trance lmao.

  • @jimdugba I'm still wondering as well people! WHAT IS THE TRANCE SONG PLEASE!

  • @jimdugba I know you asked this a LONG time ago; but the trance song which starts at 1:50 is "friends lovers & family - Diamond Lil's."

  • @AmusingYeti I've been trying to find that song for years! You Legend!! :D

  • Jón Páll Sigmarsson is still the coolest viking of the modern days! :)

  • @Crux4nsata And Sven Karlsen is a very good nr2.

  • @Crux4nsata "This is no haul for Jon Pall"

  • Norwegian Hercules.

  • @disgruntledredneck, you think that Magnus Samuelsson won WSM98 without using steroids? You think that he was so much stronger and have a much bigger talent than everybody else competing? If he didnt use steroids as you think, you can imaging how strong he would be using it. He probably would have won wsm several years in a row and beaten pudzianowski 5 wsm victories. And by the way, how the fuck you know that he is "completely natural athlete" ????? Because he said so??

  • minus 3 days

  • this may just be me but i found that if i have some one besides my self in the room when im working out i like to show off and i can lift more thats why i get my brother tho count for me some times its silly but just think if i had alot of people to show off for

  • wtf is he black at 2:37? "JUNGLE POWAA!"

  • what's the song at the beginning?

  • I love Svend Karlsen, what a character!

  • Brainyscienceguy my fuckin hole! I'm Irish the Vikings had settlements here they were the most feared race in europe at that time and for good reason they were huge and much stronger then most other races, just to survive in Norway back then was an achievement but these guys conquered europe it is even thought they found America first, fucking brave in a longboat with no GPS u Gobshite!!

  • 2:32 Jouko Ahola?

  • re: so-called "Viking Power" I hate to say because of the Norwegian blood in my veins, but Vikings tended to attack either monasteries or villages of farmers, women and children. Pretty f'ing cowardly, really. Not at all the same as samurai vs samurai or something.

That said, many were also traders and they did make valuable contributions to shipbuilding, etc.

And, of course, this guy in the doc is bloody strong! Bork, bork, bork!

  • samurai probably used to butcher peasants.

  • @thefreeflowification

    We in europe as well.

Nobles in my shithole, even practiced slaying his own peasants.

  • @StellandBlood I don't think Scandinavia is a shithole at all. :)

  • @thefreeflowification

Never said it was,for the contrary.

  • does anybvody know the name of the song?? it starts at 01:50

  • @ivanx0 march of the capulets by prokofiev

  • The final rebirth, Spirit of Dawn :) I think!

  • I want to know too! I know the classical song at the beginning is March of the Capulets, but what is the techno song at 1:50?

  • lol were lucky he wasnt around 1000 years ago , he'd be on sum battle field swinging a fucking axe screaming "Viking Power"!!!!

  • @MMAGillz hahaha. scary just to think about. lol

  • the man

  • Man what im seeing hear is that you can alter training to your sport powerlifting to strongman bodybuilding i mean ever sport can have a different training and it works thats pretty cool

  • if you tell yourself that you cannot accomplish something, you have set a standard for yourself. Standards are a set up to failure. If you have the right mind you can accomplish anything. i wont sit hear and have some 120lb bean pole tell me i am not a natural 6'3" 300lbs. I find it proposterous for some ignorant twit to tell me who I am.

Aim for a low standard and you will be nothing! a failure...

  • disgruntledredneck, I weigh 125lbs. What is your opinion of me?

  • your a bean pole, duh!

  • MMAGillz: You should develop some respect for yourself and learn how to spell properly.

  • o sorry i didnt now i was writing an essay. is this english class? how about, you just shut the fuck up? haha i think thats a good idea.

  • ohh, another internet tough guy. Insulting somebody over the internet makes 19 year old boys feel like men. As for me shutting up, it was you who spoke when you weren't spoken to.

  • not sure if i really believe the training split they show in the beginning. low sets of high reps to get strength? seems strange to me.

  • maybe for strength endurance but i wonder what he does to build his power

  • sandman, everyone isnt the same...to each his own. I have been doing a mix of Svend and Bill Kazmaier's routines for the past several months and it has improved everything overall. I like doing 1-2 heavy high repped sets. that one insane set that you put all of your power into is what matters...that perfect set that wears you out... everyone is different though

  • lol ok

  • Then again, WSM is essentially a reps competition where strength endurance, rather than total weight strength, is what wins it.

  • well yeah i understand why he is doing it, just don't believe thats how he got his raw power.

  • at 1:27 I always think thats a super heavy weight he's chucking into those crowd of kids.

  • you don't have to take steroids or be fat to be strong.

  • Welcome to Valhalla ! ..

  • Everyone just ignore cyco2kill. He dont have any idea about reality

  • BINGBONGGG, u idiot! Think that Svend likes to fight people because hes strong? Hes smart and ur not looser, maybe he should kick ur ass

  • cyco2kill, Magnus Samuelsson dont use steroids? How did he win WSM 98 then? haha, ur an ignorant n00b

  • holy shit... you suck so much ass that you didn`t even know how to reply to my comment. how does saying that magnus samuelsson doesn`t take steroids make me ignorant and a noob? do you even know what those word mean you fucking loser? check on it you punk ass bitch... the reason i said that is because that`s what i know... that`s what i`ve read and heard and saw.

  • thor,s son

  • ive seen him. i was in kristiandsand swiming poool and i saw him in the shower. lol. he aint big im taller. but i saw his wife. sexy chinese

  • Um his wife died... taller doesn't matter :)

  • I wish this guy was my friend and could come out all of us at night and drink tequilla and fight people. He is invited to my birthday party.

  • The song is 'The Knights Dance' from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, Act 1 No 13.

That is my favorite piece of music ever done - probably couldn't identify any other piece of classical music. =)

  • he has a headlight out....

    that could get dangerous

  • Svend is the man!

  • gamlafitta, are u trying to be funny or are u just stupid???

  • Man I wish I had a training facility like that. Nothing fancy. Just all the stuff you need and plenty of room.

  • Magnus Samuelsson was WSM without steroids : )

  • riiiiiiiiiight.

  • lol at you

  • yeah, and tbh i think its fine..

worlds strongest man is about finding the strongest man in the world no matter what..

if it was non steroids they couldent have called it worlds strongest man;)

  • There should be a drug-free alternative. Like in Bodybuilding, there's the Mr 'Steroids' Olympia (Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler) and the Mr 'Natural' Olympia (Danny Chau, Joel Ramintas)

  • Yeah I kinda agree. But if they did something like that im afraid the drugfree wsm would get very little views..

People love watching new records getting broken all the time and we constantly want our athletes to preform better and better way beyond human limits.. just my tought:)

  • no steroids are permitted in ifsa strongman competitions

  • Comment removed

  • dude taking drugs or not is an individual's choice.

I choose to not take drugs while your family takes drugs everyday... so who's the loser?

  • Comment removed

  • ahahaha, yeah, Samuelsson is all natural))

  • Comment removed

  • you really make me laugh)

  • Comment removed

  • i don't even know where to start... gaining so much muscles and developing such unhuman strength like Magnus has is simply isn't possible without steroids.

just chat with professional powerlifters\bodybuilders\strongmen, i mean really talk with them about the limits of human capacities. Almost every serious athlete in any sport in the world takes some enhances.

  • Comment removed

  • what proof do you need? drug tests? lots of athletes admire taking steroids, are you really so naive that you think Magnus is the only man on the planet that's able to compete and win steroid users?

ok, so how strong are you as a natural bodybuilder?

  • Comment removed

  • well ask any powerlifter you know.

steroids are only suppleents, they won't give you much results without proper nutrition and training. and again, athletes are humans too, the become older, have injuries etc.

  • do you not understand genetics? I am 300lbs, 6'3", 23" calves and 23" arms and deadlift 600+ I am natural, genetics or no genetics... you don't have to take steroids to achieve amazing things. ever since i started lifting I have been hounded and hounded over steroids, I dont take them and dont plan on it. not saying that some of those guys dont

  • Magnus is a completely natural athlete. I am 6'3" 300lbs and i do strong man. I am natural, you either have the gift or you dont... blaming their successes on steroids is an excuse for inherited weakness

  • loool, there's impossible to develop such strength without steroids, try chatting with powerlifters\bodyduiulders at your gym.

i'm sure you haven't achieved anything in strength, otherwise you wouldn't talk that shit about natural athletes

  • ur exactly right ofcourse there steroids used

  • @disgruntledredneck lol @ magnus being natural

  • too right man genetic is everything

  • Comment removed

  • @disgruntledredneck Magnus is not doping free anywhere. And of course you can be long but fat, not hard to weight 300lbs. The question is how much of muscle that is and how strong you are. Try to bench 300Kilos, or deadlift over 400Kilos, Squat over 400Kilos, bicepscurl 140Kilos, do 212.5Kg loglift and so on. You really don't realize anything about it. Because you do Strongman and weight 300lbs does not mean your are strong or about close to these guys without doping.

  • @hohaii quite lean... honestly i could care less what any of them do haha.. and i do have over a 600lb dead and squat... messed up my shoulder last year tho :-/

  • @disgruntledredneck Somehow I doubt it. Why be all natural like you say he is when he was blatently competing with people juicing. Look at mariuz P. for example definitely on gear, tbh I think theyre all on gear one way or anutha.

Don't get me wrong thats not taking away their great genetics to have ridiculous strength/ size etc.

Its what i feel is true

  • @jonafromwales I dont agree though. If we were talking Mr.O and the likes, then I wouldnt be a nay-sayer, but strongman competitions have pretty good controls for making sure that no substance forbidden by the rules has been taken. Same with natural bodybuilding. But with or without, the success still comes from the hard work and dedication of the person as you said, you dont get a free-ride by taking a few shots.

  • @PondscumArgonian Well look at it this way Svend Karlsen was an IFBB pro and he is bigger now than he was then, so of course he's not natural. Not a big deal, shit ive tried dbol, no biggie

  • @jonafromwales But wasnt the strongman stuff AFTER the IFBB pro comps? Or maybe I put too much faith in their controls? And yeah, I agree, its not a big deal. As said, it still takes a lot of effort to get anyone, juice or not.

  • @PondscumArgonian nah, it was before, he got injured or summin and tried strongman. But i know for definite that he was IFBB pro before and he now is bigger which doesnt make sense for him to be natural

  • @jonafromwales Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that out.

  • @disgruntledredneck Both are true. You need to have the right genetics and the right training. But you also need steroids to get to this level.

  • @disgruntledredneck some people are just freaks

  • @disgruntledredneck it's nice to read it

  • @disgruntledredneck well literally all strongman take drugs so it's not inconceivable to assume a successful athlete like him does. i would say it's more likely he takes drugs than doesn't. however that's not saying without drugs he isn't a pure genetic beast. drugs don't make you amazing it's all in the genetics.

  • @disgruntledredneck his name is svend not magnus

  • We have plenty of those "Svend Karlsen" in Minnesota! Viking Power!!

  • the song is titled "Dance of the Knights"

  • I think its "Anitras Dans" from Per Gynt written by Edward Grieg. Music from the Land of the Viking^^

  • Anyone know the name of the song in the beginning? =)

  • its called dance of the knights.

  • man or mountain ?!?

  • LOL,looking @ half naked men won't make you strong....lol.....lets start training :D

    Let's get ready to...Rumble ;>p

  • wow i didnt know he got an IFBB pro card..

  • VIKING POWER!!!

  • Great video, Svend is my new hero.

  • cheers for posting, much appreciated

  • Thank you so much, this is much appreciated!

  • Крутой мужик
