I like Nike a lot ! LONG before Nike made skate shoes people skated Nikes like no other. It was extremely common in the 90's for a skater to rock Nikes. It was only a matter of time that demands for Nike to make a skate shoe caused them to come out with an official line of skate shoes in 2002.

Quite honestly I think they are doing a legitimate job. They have their own designs which are not freaking copies and repeats under new names. They go out of their way to produce legitimate media, and actually take heed to professional skaters opinions and input. Ive never heard a single shop complain about bad reps cuz they treat their customers like they ought to be treated. Unlike other major corps like Zumiez, Nike actually feeds back into the core culture of skating.
