As a drummer of over twenty years, it does frustrate me to see someone with a 15th of my skill level have a drumset that I have been working so hard to obtain for so long and not be anywhere clsoe yet. That is not say the comments of "this dude sucks", "waste of a kit" make it any better. We as drummers has a responsibilty more so than other musicians. There is no no other instrument that is so persoanl to the indivisual playing it. That it why instead of saying "you suck" we should be saying...

A good drummer can make a bad kit sound good, but an average or below average drummer makes an awesome kit sound average, and won't make the drummer sound better. If this is your kit in this video, then you spent too much money on an instrument that is way above your skill level. I played a Pearl Export for years before I upgraded to an all maple kit, and only after I began to hear and understand the differences between woods, drum heads, shell sizes, sticks, playing styles etc.

the quality of the cameras makes the difference. so this guy is using an average normal quality camera. on the official video on the reference drums (where 3 pros talk about it) the reason it sounds so good (it is how the real drums sound) is beacuse of the camera quality, or sound quality. if you have an ok camera, but a really nice sound quality, it will sound more like your actually in the room hearing the drums. so it has to do with sound quality.
