@jwemt81 that is actually friction from your fingers causing the space bar to become smooth and glossy. Its just simply wear and tear, and it is permanent. Everyone has it on their computer, its just whether u realise it or not. I'm a left hander, so the glossy spot on my computer is on the left side. If you watch carefully, this person's computer also has it, but hers is on the right side of her spacebar.
