@Lillieinator Thanks, and yes I get what you're trying to say with RUN to the Hills. (I actually made a more appropriate video for that song, 'Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills (Geronimo version)'.
Of course I chose the right song for Forrest Gump though, considering the loneliness of Forrest during much of the movie, and his sudden urge to just run. "But the miles they never seem to end, as if you're in a dream, not getting anywhere, it seems so futile".
this is my favorite iron maiden song, and forest gump is one of my favorite movies.... this was really great. it seriously was, it should have been the trailer for the movie.
@metalpunkbeast666 haha Yeah. Maiden say that Muse has always been one of their biggest influences. Steve Harris says he owes his entire career to them...Bruce says his eyes well up every time he hears one of their albums end...Nicko says he wants to be in their band but wouldn't feel worthy....Dave Murray says he probably never would've picked up a guitar if not for hearing Muse...Adrian Smith is planning a tribute album to them...Janick Gers will be naming his next child Musenhoff.
@residualbill Are you talking about the Muse that was formed in 1994? Whenever Steve has been around since 1975? Where this album was made before Muse ever was even thought of in 1986? I pray to God its not the one I know. Send me a link to which band you are talking about. Please, its a matter of life and death
@residualbill Hahah okay good! My whole world was almost turned upside down because I absolutely hate muse and to have my favorite band ever to have that much 'loyalty' and love to a band I hate lol.
This part of Forrest Gump always reminds me of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. I don't know if there's any connection, but just maybe there is. RIP Terry.
@BigO318 Good thing I didn't bring paper into this situation. I was washing dishes when this came to mind. I think it was somewhere between the salad fork and the spatula...
Hey, you did a simply fantastic job putting this together! One of my favorite Maiden songs, too, one that is lamentably overlooked. At first I was put off by the intro, but it puts the entire video into a proper context.
I also agree about the song being overlooked. Maiden only performed the song live once. It was during 'Somewhere On Tour', in 86. think it was in Greece. I've seen no video footage but someone uploaded the audio.
@residualbill It was Sept 10 1986 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia @ Pionor Hall during "Somewhere On Tour" the band removed it from their setlist because they thought "it didn't flow with the rest of the setlist."
ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU!!!! This version is still awesome. I would of kept the opening scene from the 1st version with him talking to his mother only because it really gets to you.
Yeah, I don't know. I felt like I wanted to change it up on the opening scene by keeping the audio from that scene but changing the visual, until the end of that intro. I just felt that it lacked intrest from the visual aspect, which is why I did it that way.
I'm totally with you on the feel of that scene - and in relation to the theme of the video.
Sometimes my brain allows me to have good ideas. ;)
You still did one awesome job that both Tom Hanks and Iron Maiden would approve of. Hopefully one day they get together for a tour with special guest Forrest Gump thanks to this video. Keep the great videos coming!!
Maybe Bruce can sing a whole song about shrimp, shrimp boats, shrimp stew, shrimp a'la'king, shrimp kabobs, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, shrimp jambalaya, shrimp...
Man I just got a very odd picture in my head, of Forrest singing Infinite Dreams.
This was amazing!! epic! I almost cried cause it was so beautiful :) I Love it ! You really nailed it.

@ikeman1156 It was just a joke. I thought it was obvious sarcasm, seeing as I laid it on so thick. xD
I said it because of metalpunkbeast666's comment. Trust me, I've been a Maiden fan since the 80's and am extremely aware.
