I've heard of one 12 being louder than most 15s out there. Maybe it just depends on how you set everything up. Like exact speaker box specs and matching power to the sub. Sometimes EQs also help on giving sound quality a boost. It's your call....

just because he has 2 12's and the other has 1 10 doesnt mean the 12's will always win... infact i know someone who ran 1 12" and out did someone with 4 12's... its about the power supply and the BOX ! Thats all that matters to be loud
