  • the grudge is also newer, so fuck that. Which one is most scary. Thats what i want to know

  • i found ju-on to be infinitely times scarier. its not fair because all the pics make it look likt the american version is bteer but its really not,.

the kayoko grabs part, is expecially scary in ju-on, its amazing. in the grudge, not so much.

  • the grudge won!!!fuck that shit!!!

  • the grudge 2 because ju-on looks mad fake

  • ...............i have only seen the the american "The Grudge" , but this interests me and will probably scare the shit out of me when i watch it

  • question the picture at 3:26 where is that from?

  • It's a picture from The Grudge that's not in the movie.

  • they all scared the hell out of me. Ju-on was more frightning.

  • I'd probably go with the 4 Ju-On films over the American remakes (although I think they're all pretty good.) There's just something about the Japanese version that's more subtle and spookier rather than "in your face with loud music"

  • The Japanese version rocks a thousand times more than this american shit.

  • I've only seen JU-ON: The Grudge. I didn't realize that it was a remake of the original which I really want to see now. It looks creepier. I haven't seen the American re-make but I've been told it was okay

  • Ju-on is better... in the american version kayako looks to fake in the japanese version looks real and scares the hell out of me !!!

  • Ju-on the grudge 2

  • sorry i meant ghosts/spirits not monsters

  • the combined effect of all the techniques had a greater impact in the ju-on series which made it more scary, however the american ones you can quite plainly see used much better graphic effects and the monsters seemed even more scary to watch, though if you was watching the japanese one you'd be more scared as they don't just rely on the visual aspects of the monster to scare you

  • Ju on beats all.

  • Ju-on

  • I like the Japanese version better but the American ones are cool too

  • theyre both the smae for me! i luv both the american ones and the japanese ones!

  • if you think so....

  • all thumps up for ju-on!the japanese version was no doubtedly better!in the american version shows a great bit of effort, tech and make-up skill, with no consequence!this video shows that asian really knows how to tell a story!when will these superficial myth-less Americans learn?

  • I think the american version is better than the japanese,I don't like the japanese version because it's not so scary like the american. 5*

  • i think the japanese version is more scarier than the american i dont like the yankee version :)

  • ju-on 2 was by far the scariest out of all of the grudge and ju-on series

  • the special effects and makeup/hair was better in the american versions but i reckon the storyies in the japanese are way better

  • boah ey schreck lass nach XD

  • omg! there both freakin scary but i'll have to go with the grudge 2

  • omg i dunno they both scared the fuck out of me when i watch them when i was like 10

  • woow i like it its freakin awesome

  • the grudge

  • i like the jp version the most

  • ju -on is the original and in the grudge is buffy the vampire slayer this sucks

  • Kanna story was freaky but did her mother die as well when Kanna ghost came home and went up the stairs bloody/beaten and jawless?

Didn't really understand Kanna's brother girlfriend part at the school felt like I was missing part of the story.. must be the Katasumi storyline, right?

anyway the ju-on low budget films were creepy quite a story between Saeki family and Toshio teacher.

  • yaaa! grudge 2 is more awesome

  • i havnt seen the originals

    but i love the grudge 2 (2006)

  • The grudge has scarier pics and stuff like dat but the other vids have scarier content

  • super ugly... it is noncense

  • Kayako looks freakiest in 1. Juon 2. Grudge 3. Juon the Grudge

  • ju-on is scarier than grudge the grudge is lame but ju-on is THE BEST AND THE COOLEST!!

  • AWESOMEEEEEE!!!XD I like the grudge best!!!!

  • Why there are so white? thats so funny this fuckin films^^ this cute dummy chinese

  • Actually it's Japanese and not dumb.

  • oh my god the grudge 1 and 2 r sooo not scary neither is ju on:the grudge 1 n 2 i hav seen them so many times it don't scare me but i am soo going seeing the grudge 3 next year

  • my mom thought i was wierd when we watched the grudge because i thought the little boy was cute... i havent seen ju-on but it looks awesome!

  • for me ju-on

    the grudge is not bad

  • I liked Ju on better. In the Grudge it just seems as if they tried too much.

  • the grudge is immense

ju-on is ok but it anint nothing compared 2 the grudge

it shat me up wen i 1st wotched it

    lol

  • The Grudge is poure boredom

    Ju-On is where it's at!

  • I have to say Ju-On. They were both scary, but Ju-On leaves you scared well after it's over. I always prefer the Japanese and Chinese versions over the American remakes. If I haven't seen the Japanese version when the American version comes out, I'll rent the Japanese version first (or at the same time) because it's scarier.

  • i like the hgrudge the best cuz is much scary i was born in 2004

  • So what's a 4-year-old doing, watching scary movies? You're a moron.

  • how the fuck does a 4 year old know how to type and have it in sentences that are still readable?

    posser pedo's typing: your comment

    4 year old's typing: jfkjsiresjtrngmndfkjvnvaiwQOEJFKSDGKD

  • either one that dead lady freaks me out......i dunno does da japanese version have a different storyline? cause i know a few JAP. horrors that did....

  • Tough call. I think each did one thing better than the other. I gotta give the stairs to the Grudge, and the same with the jawless scene (tongue in that BAD way, friends), but I think Japanese horror movies, on a whole, outdo their American counterparts because I prefer subtle freaky-as-hell supernatural horror as opposed to the more raucous in-your-face horror of America. Don't get me wrong, I love the Grudge and Ring, but I'd take Ju-On and Ringu over them.

  • i honestly prefer the grudge

  • They both seem pretty scary... I dont know which one to rent though I would rather be scared watching it but not afterwards.. so which one is better for that?

  • me and my cosin love this horor movie they shock us very scary

  • ok i love the japanese ones better than the

american but i liked the american grudge on

the stairs better but in ju-on the grudge 2

i love the part when the grudge came out

    of the womb

and has any1 noticed kayako looks different

    in all the ju-on movies??

  • Ju-On scared the living shit out of The Grudge.

  • who ever says ju on U GUYS SUCK THE GRUDGE DUH!

  • The japanese version wins by a landslide. Its what I call real horror.

The japanese horror movies play with our minds, while the american remakes concentrate more on nerves. The acting in japanese versions is subtle and natural. You see the standard loud textbook acting in the hollywood versions which gets old pretty fast.

I prefer substance over style anyday.

  • I like both, They ahve both been brought to screens the same, way, Im not usually a fan of Amercan remakes on japanese films, *cough* the ring *cough* but in the case of Juon Vs the Colombia pictures adaptation I like both, its the same director and Shimizu kept to his style of horror, like Juon: 444444444

It doesnt scare me but it does make the ahir on my arms stand on both versions, but I like the Ju-on origonality, and Sarah Michelle Gellar is fit :P

  • you cant really say the grudge is american... same director jus american characters... so ju-on win as i luv japanese ppl

  • it suk to the core the ghost so fucking fake

  • the grudge

  • I think her hair's better in the american version..but Ju-on powns american ass.

  • I love horror movies...they make me laugh not scare me soooo id rather prefer Ju-On... the grudge kinda sucks

  • The grudge has better effects and lights, but I prefer Ju On. The story is cooler.

  • JU ON!

  • ju-on deffo wins!!! japanese stuff is well class

  • what did you say?!

they scared the shit out of me, damn!

  • I love them all [:

They don't scare me; but I just really like them...cause I can watch them without having to feel all freaked out [:

  • wow

  • Lol wow, Ju-on wins hands down

  • lol the american version of the bed scene makes it look like the ghost girl (i havent seen the movies so i dont know the name) is going "what are u doing in my bed?"

  • I think that Ju-on TV version were the most scared.

  • theyre both awesome. kayako crawling on the stairs is better in the american version though. no jaw lady is awesome on both cuz ju on she has a lot of blood and in the grudge her bloody tounge is all hanging out. and the little kid screaming is better in the american version.

  • wow they both are scary and cool

  • SCARY

  • i only see the grudge.

    and i love it ;)

but the japanese version should the scariest!!

  • Iv only seen the grudge but I want to see the rest.

  • i LOVE THE AMERICAN VERSIONS

and I havnt seen the japan versions but the scenes that ive seen on youtube scared the crap outta me so I love anything that involves the grudge

  • I watched the American versions and enjoyed them, but my girlfriend is really big on Asian cinema so I picked up Ju-On the Grudge 1 and 2.

They were awesome and far scarier, although some times they were overly cryptic and I had to look around for some explanations after.

  • they just scare people, use the hammer to chop their head, they cant do nothing

  • I think they tryed burning The Grudge (Kakayo) to death, which didnt work, considering shes dead already.

I dont think a hammer would work.

  • can u stop the grudge/ Ju-On?

  • Nicely made video.

I prefer the 4 Japanese versions. I never understood why they were remade for the American market. The 4 Japanese movies are way more coherent in their story telling and have better character development.

If anyone is interested, Ju-on the book can be bought on Amazon. The book does a good job filling in the blanks of the movie. Especially light is shed into Kayako's past and the motives of her actions.

  • hahaha

    i found

if u want to compare japanese horror and american horror

u can try searching the missed call final and the latest american miss call

the monster things are completely different

american they seriuosly change it to super natural and j-horro is mostly spirit or something else

  • I like littlebit more Ju-On, cause it´s not so scary that The Grudge is.

Both are good horror movies ^^

  • You're kidding.

She looks WAAAY different! especially in Ju-On: The Grudge.

  • I prefer the american versions ... but all the movies are great . (thanks to Kayako!!)

    "##"

  • scary... i love japan horror movies <3

  • haha, I LOVE the Ju-On movies, but I wish they wouldn't keep changing the actors. Because in Ju-On, they had the actress who played Kayako had really straight hair, then in Ju-On: The Grudge the actress had wavy hair and looked very different.

But the American versions weren't all bad. :]

  • the actress who played kayako played her in all the ju on movies and the grudge 1 and 2

  • this is freaky

  • Kayako's expression (bed scene) in american version is rather funny than scary... I prefer japanese versions.

  • My ratings are as follows:

    1. Ju-on: The Grudge

    2. The Grudge

    3. Ju-On

    4. Ju-On: The Grudge 2

    5. The Grudge 2

    6. Ju-On 2

I like the darker atmosphere in the remake of Ju-On: The Grudge, it gives me more goosebumps.

  • The Japanese movies are better.

The american version is just so bad animated-.-

  • same

  • Yeah Ju-On definitely wins, but not the Lions Gate version. There was a version before that low budget, that ones definitely the creepiest.

  • I watch Ju-on, Ju-on 2, Ju-on:The Grudge, Ju-on:The Grudge 2, The Grudge, The Grudge 2 while listening to Here Is The House by Depeche Mode. The song really goes with all movies

  • In very first Ju-on, Toshio had a bad haircut

  • Rank of all vids

    6:Ju-on 2 = forgot y I baught it

    5:The Grudge = just a remake, average

4:The Grudge 2 = funny that Toshio looked alittle like Martin Gore lol

    3:Ju-on = Damn freaky,most original work i ever seen

2:Ju-on:The Grudge = good, but not best

1:Ju-on:The Grudge 2 = Kayako Saeki is awesome

    Kayako kicks Rings Ass

  • I like both! hehe!i nevah new dat tha last part would come like that:P

  • ju on all the way. i don't give a crap about special effects, ju on is scarier and is more gory. when i saw the girl with no jaw in the grudge i started to laugh

  • its all about originality

  • Toshio makes me laugh... dunno why

  • same here

  • Toshio looks like Martin Gore in The Grudge 2

  • I've seen Ju-On: The Curse, Ju-On: The Curse II,

Ju-On: The Grudge, Ju-On: The Grudge II and Both amarican The Grudge.

But I think that the japanese are scarier!

The american are like cheap "BOOS" in there sequences, in the japanese you get a feeling of, Apathy, Fear and Claustophobia.

  • Wow, that is a good review (apathy, fear, claustrophobia.)

    indeed..

  • they all rock

  • they both rock

  • in The Grudge (2004) the girl with no jaw is still cute

  • i said the same thing to my friend haha

  • well; the directors were both the same people..

i saw it on the special features!

    xD

  • love the slideshow.

    it seems scary.

but i dont know which grudge is the best.

because i have not got them on dvd.

i have watched some of juon and the grudge abit on you tube.

    and i like both.

but the japanese version is better xxxx

  • WE made the film a BIT better, though the japanese make it much more frightening than we do. But our specail effects are rather graphic and very gory, which, I think, makes the film more enoyable.

  • Same director.

  • Actually I think the japanese makeup and SFX look more shocking, and sincerely, the grudge 2 (USA) was... well... dissapointing

  • The japanese films are more frightening, the American films more entertainning. It all depends on what you want to watch. American Horror is entertainning, while Japanese horror, with it's emphasis on the inability to fight evil, is more frightening. You are left scared for longer. Except Ringu 2... what the hell was with that movie anyway? It sucked.

  • off course ju-on is much better and more scary than the grudge, off course this idea is basically brought up by japanese and they know much better how to picturise it, further more the ideoligy of horror is much more stronger in japanese than the rest of the world.

  • fuck...

i haven't seen the japanese movies but i guess they're better

  • Shit this is so scary! but ju-on is way scarrier

  • J-Horror is better, japanese didnt use to many effects, while the american version i assume enhanced kayako's appearance- eyes, color itself, and the way the jaw stretches while she's making the clicking sound. the jap one is much more natural which gives it the more spooky effect.

  • Well said =)

  • Definately Ju-on. I own the 4 japanese versions and the 2 american versions, and I find the Japanese ones spook more than the american ones do.

  • japanese of course.

  • cool :P

  • and ju on :the grudge 2 ....what?

  • Mich machen sie alle fertig...

aber die besten sind the grudge 1 + 2

  • Eerie music... me liked it!

  • GILakaGP3 ,,

tose american are IN japan moron!

  • well done video.

  • the grudgeee

  • i like the japanese originals because they're worth watching whereas the american ones are just plain wrong

  • im confused whats the differnce between ju on

and ju on:the grudge (non american)

  • Director Takashi Shimizu first made Ju-On and Ju-on 2 in 2000 with an extreme low budget. Than three years later in 2003 when he had more money, he made two new Ju-On movies.

  • The U.S. grudge sucks. It's not scary like the Ring was. Ringu was all Japanese and the Ring was all U.S. and that was good.

Ju-On was all Japanese in Japan and that's cool but the Grudge was U.S. in Japan....WTF

the ring was not in Japan so why was the grudge. If it was done in the U.S. with a Little boy and a women from the U.S. it would have been a bettter movie.

  • 2:50 made me lol xD but the music is the only creepy thing about this video O_o great films

  • The grudge is more realistic

  • gilaaaa oooooooooooooooooo

  • THERE ALL SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, they're all lovely. Can't decide which one I like the most.

  • the only comment i'l make is im neva going out wit a japanese girl LOL even if they look HOT like the japanese girls on fast and furious movies

  • Ju-on and the grudge is almost the same ;p they are not scary at all xD

  • i like da end...datz kinda scari!lol

  • i've only seen the american versions but the japansese version looks scary!

  • I have to say the slides you picked made it look like the grudge was better but the Ju on was first and had really scarry parts

  • ethr da grudge 1 and/or 2

    thar both realli KOOL!!!!!

  • american horror use CGI=not scary.

  • kayako in all the movies is good

  • taht is very best

  • ...i watched this yesterday at like 2:00p.m. and i took a nap and i had a dream bout dis...i mean it was so real plus i watched other stuf bout spirit photoz on here cuz i wanna se dat movie shutter...but im glad i had da dream cuz im noe scared of it no more....at least i think im not..i ges i'll see 2nite

  • don't know if you have gotten around to watching shutter but if not then let me say that it is brilliant and you really should try to. and I also spook myself on here by searching ghost pics late at night.

  • I made trhe mistake of watching 'Shutter' at midnight..-. I haven't slept for 2 days :p

  • I think that JU-ON is BETTER !! Ju-On rocks The Grudge sucks haha

  • ok thisll sound really dumb but whats the differnce betwen ju-on and ju-on the grudge

  • personally im terrified of either one...but i think the american version is scarier.

  • so u r idiot

  • ju-on is more original and more japanese like, while the grudge is more dramatic, more american and scarier.that is what i think

  • Toshio looks like a guy in my class!

  • i have seen some of the the "the grudge" movies and some of the "ju-on", but, i cant remember anything about the "no jaw"... what actually happened to her/him?

  • Well, the 'no jaw' thing is from the TVmovie and The Grudge. *SPOILER* in Ju-On there's a girl named Kana who lives in the haunted house and later she and her freind Hisayo gets caught by the ghost at the school ground. When the police founds there bodies the corpes are all torn apart and then they finds a jaw. Later Kana's mom sees her dead daughter's ghost without a jaw.

  • ahh.. ok.. thnk u so much :D

  • i love the grudge much better, and such pity on her how she died and how she dwells in her death..

  • OMG I WATCHED SOME OF THE JAPANESE ORIGINAL THE GRUDGE AND WASN´T SCARED AT ALL!;s BUT OMG THE GRUDGE IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN JU ON.:O

  • idk da grudge 2??????

  • so freakin scary!

  • i don,t know both looks scary

  • ju-on is better

  • i think that the the Grudge is better because of the better quality but Japanese people sure think of some scary ass shit............

  • Ju-On is scarier imo. :/

  • omfg...

i saw the movie, and I dont know if its because im a scarred-for-life girl, but i couldnt sleep in the night... :|

but i still loved it! :D

  • little scary!!

  • I Think Kayako In The Stairs From The Movie The Grudge(2004) Is Frighting Because Her Face Is Covered In Blood & Her Eyes Is Bleeding Red.

  • I saw the original one and at some points of the movie, I thought the remake was better. But the original one is the better one.

  • The Ju-on movies were a lot scarier and better then the Grudge remakes in my opinion.

  • ju-on is better

  • I liked the original movie the best. I didn't care for the remake, but the special effects in it were cool. However the first one is better because it was more about suspense and less about special effects.

    <
