Owned? There are other ways of getting power without polluting the air. Such as Nuclear Power stations. They do create radio active material, but can be handled without a problem. The fact is windmills are VERY inefficient. Not only for the reason danryan87 stated but also the fact that they usualy run on 18%-or at most 36% capacity. There also VERY unreliable.
Offshore windfarms are so much worse than their onshore counterparts; the intermission in the power grid actually causes the power yield to be less efficient than a coal grid. Stop killing the environment.
All I said was that they are inefficient and the yield could be higher using a mainland coal grid, meaning you wouldn't have to burn as much fuel in the first place
