@Coasterintheyard Actually, the first coaster to break the 200 foot barrier was Moonsault Scarmble at Fuji-Q Highland. The first coaster to be taller than 300 feet was Tower of Terror at Dreamworld. Superman: Escape From Krypton at Six Flags Magic Mountain was the first coaster to exceed 400 feet in height. Cedar Point didn't break any of those height records.

The ones you mentioned are all shuttle coasters, while hyper, giga, and strata coasters are defined as FULL CIRCUIT, but you still do hold a valid point. PS Not clear about what you mean cedar point dosn't hold ANY of these records, Wicked Twister IS the world's tallest impulse, Raptor WAS the first inverted coaster to have a cobra roll, and I forgot to mention corkscrew was the first coaster to have 3 inversions.

@natman40418 Wooden structures use mostly compression members. That means that the wood is resisting being squeezed. A loop or inversion requires tension members... meaning that the track has to be able to resist being stretched. That can be done safely with steel, but not with wood. I hope this helps.

@natman40418 too unstable, if a wooden were to do a loop, the track wouldn't be able to contain the power of the coaster. Now I do believe that there are steel/wood hybrids that do indeed have loops, they did this by putting a steel loop in that connects to the hybrid track
