if you are right handed, you need to have your right leg in front. if you are left-side dominant, use your left in the front. REMEMBER: you want your STRONGEST LEG, NOT your WEAKEST LEG to drive you out of the blocks. the stronger the front leg is, the easier it is to overcome inertia!!! most people will have their right leg in front, unless you are a lefty. if you are NOT a lefty, do NOT have your left leg in front. however, if you are a lefty, you need to have your left leg in front.
@ThePureOctane yeah some people are like that. make sure the strongest leg is the front one tho, no matter what. because you have to overcome inertia in the first step, thus the most force possible must be applied against the blocks at this point. and i've also tried that calculator, it isn't that accurate. it assumes everyone's proportions are the same. the reason you are coming up high is party because your back hamstring is too bunched. make sure your back thigh is perpendicular to ground
@SmarvoE it is true. this kid has horrible form. arms are back way to far, and somehow his thighs are above parallel to the ground. wow he could be so much faster if he ran right
@roxtar55 Yes this kid has a bad start but then. What you said about the if you're a right handed you gotta have the right leg in front is not true.. I'm right handed but i use my left leg.. it's much more stronger than my right leg
buddy! i keep telling you, put your back leg a little further back! your back hamstring should NEVER be forward. it should AT LEAST be perpendicular to the ground, and may even be slightly back. you need to also not lean forward so much - otherwise you are letting gravity move you DOWNWARD, which shortens your stride - plus, you have to catch yourself when you lean forward to much. make sure your arms are perpendicular to the ground. remember, keep the front foot's toe on the ground.

Hi my left leg is my strongest leg even though I am right handed. I have also sort out my blocks using the block setting calculator on brianmac.co.uk

@SmarvoE Well, typically the same side is dominant. Generally. If that's your dominant, you should use it. You're doing it right then.

@SmarvoE Yes I know people who are right handed left legged, its rare but correct. But his start looks like his starting leg is weak thats all.

@roxtar55 Yeapp. and fyi, Tyson Gay, Asafa, Bolt and Blake all are left legged.
