sorry to burst your bubble chap but your pickups were not winded by abigail ybarra, they were just supervised by her, the ones she hand wind has "abby" writen on them and the date, the ones she check have "AY" + date. still cool pickups
hey i got these pickups and when i took them out of the box i noticed they weren't labeled "bridge" "middle" or "neck". anyone know how im supposed to tell which pickup goes where?
if the problem is only the middle pickup, not sure what to tell you. You can use a .022 cap on its tone control to get rid of treble. But it wont make it louder.
Hi there, i put some 57/62s in my Mexican strat with a .1uF cap but the treble and the mids sound super bright and almost scratchy, i hate it. Could u help me out here, do u know how to fix this?
Its a personal taste. CS 69's seem to be the most popular. I loved mine, but its not a secret recipe. If you want that style at half the cost, follow the link to the right to my business website, rose pickups.
I'm glad I got to freeze frame on that capacitor's closeup. The wiring diagram that I have, almost looks as if one of the capacitor leads is connected on the center pin of the control knob, but it is really connected to ground. I'm still waiting for my CS69 pups. Your soldering look a lot cleaner than some other pictures I've seen on Strat-talk message boards. lol
I rewired my Highway One strat just to hear the difference in sound. I used the 0,047uf capacitor for the neck control pickups. There was a lot of wire switching, but I finally got it done. I wished I had the schematic rather than the wiring diagram, so that I could figure out why they wired it so differently.
Oh wow, backordered? you know, i really like the pickups, there is a clarity to them, even when pushed. These pickups are the reason I started Rose Pickups. I felt that I could make pickups jsut a well. ITs a "grass is greener" product, until you get them and then realize that it wasn't all that special!
I've should of order them through the internet, but instead, I've ordered it through my favorite music store. They used to have 69's and Texas Specials pups when they had a bunch of Mexican Strats last year. I'm going over there today and look at the humbuckers pups and machine heads for my $199 Ibanez GAX 70. That is a very good guitar for under $200. I'm thinking of getting 57's humbuckers for it.
I see that you are using a 0.1uf capacitor on your neck tone control. I'm replacing mine with a .047uf capacitor. Right now I have the grease bucket circuit to deal with on both tone controls, but I do have a 0.1uf capacitor if it really does sound that good. I do have those orange drop caps, and that is how I can tell your is 0.1uf.
Oh okay...I'm looking forward to do some surgery on my Fender Strat. I bought other values of capacitors: .022uf, 047uf, and .1uf, because the shipping is $9.50.
I'm also getting aged pickup covers with my CS 69's. My monster will be ready soon.
if i'm about to change my neck and bridge pickups, do i have to remove all the three pickups from the pickguard and have them all disconnected from the 5-way switcher and the volume knob?
i'm kinda new to this, which one is the ground? i'm trying to replace my stock pickups with two DiMarzio HS-3, neck and bridge position, what should I do?
ground will be the wires that are soldered to the bottom of your Pots. You can get really good wiring diagrams from seymourduncan . com. every combination of pickups you can think of will be there.
do these pickups come with the volume and tone controls??

Cooderospie 2 years ago
ITs really up to you. I go from the lowest number in the neck to the highest in the bridge
kdc300z 2 years ago
Where are the numbers that your referring to?
Cooderospie 2 years ago
YOu ahve to use a volt meter to check. They are all supposed to be wound to the same spec so it really doesnt matter.
kdc300z 2 years ago
ah ok thanks : )

It sounds very weak and make less hum/noise.

19MaciekW94 2 years ago

Start with a .047 microfarad cap. Then you can try different pots, as well as a treble bleed circuit.

Love the ending!
But for the love of God, change that awful cheap switch for a proper Oaks 5-way!!! {:o|

Ha! thanks. But I find the dimarzio switch to be quite good!

'quiet good' is not authentic! I replaced everything, even getting NOS capacitors and what a difference!

who do you tell wich pickups go where
youaergay 2 years ago
they all have similar resistances. Its up to you where to put them. Check resistance with a volt meter.

Hi, No, you can leave the middle pickup alone. However, they probably share a common ground, so you would have to resolder the ground.

Yeah they are nice pickups especially when you block the tremolo with all 5 tension springs.
