@Sepantis287 He was both mentally and physically exhausted because it was 35-40°C the whole race and even though he had a pretty huge lead he gave 100% almost all the way to the chequered flag, as that was his style. But difficult to say how much that affected him as he didn't show that much emotion when he became champion either.

I read yesterday that his father passed away and even though he doesn't show a lot of emotion on the outside I'm sure that he has a very emotional side too. Lol, too many years Schumacher and Ferrari dominated. Sad to see one of the few drivers who gave them a run for their money move to the dark side. Also after he won in 2007, he seemed less adventurous with his driving and apart from the odd race he was eclipsed by Massa, which should have never happened imo! :)

@LeJimster Yeah, Kimi and Lewis would've made a good team. In retrospect I wish Alonso would've moved to Ferrari in 2007 instead and I think everybody would've gained from that. Kimi seemed a bit frustrated about the reliability problems at McLaren but in 2007 they didn't have too many anymore but Ferrari did instead. I don't think Ferrari's way of building the car ever fitted Kimi's driving style that well either since he wants oversteer, while Schumacher and ("the new") Massa want understeer.

@Rosvolainen Agreed. Ferrari would sooner cry "unmotivated!" than make a car suited to Kimi's driving style. When Massa was able to find peace with the '08 car, Ferrari pretty much went "Yup. That'll do." and expected Kimi to alter his driving style. It wasn't till he finished 3rd in championship that it finally seemed to click with Ferrari that this guy wasn't a perfect clone of Michael Schumacher. "Well, don't worry. KERS'll fix that in 2009".. No it didn't. "BUT IT'S KIMI'S FAULT!"

@Rosvolainen I think otherwise. I think Schumacher wants oversteer. More grip at the front. In the wet, oversteer seems to be greater because of the power that goes to the rear wheels with grip very much reduced in the wet. And everyone knows how brilliant Schumacher is in wet/slippery conditions (Spa 94, spain 96, monaco 97, to name a few). And notice how they put Schumacher's lack of performance this year - narrow front tires heavier back end (due to bigger tank/fuel load).
