  • This is just what I was looking for.

  • to awesome for words

  • perfection

  • awesome slide i tell u..

  • ry cooder....now that's a name for you!

  • Just awesome man thanks for the upload

  • now that is a slide guitarist....and to think I thought as a child my Uncle was the only person who could play the slide...lol

  • slide guitar and it's purifying power. The blues came from a bad time...poverty, hunger, dominance and slavery. no guitar sound, sounds better than when it's crying.

  • I have those shoes, lol

  • this song reminds me of the south. muggy weather. sittin' under a big magnolia with my baby.

  • @anneshuck me too :)

  • Like bar shows 1973...sweet year ! :D

  • Why is all of this I'm a Mormon SHIT, in the side link bar? Who gives a piss for a mormon or any other religious dumb fuck?

  • I don't ask for much, but for God's sake, someone play this song at my funeral.

  • Slow blues like this is the mark of a master. Honestly it's not rocket science to play a 12 bar blues or a rock-blues and sound like Jimmy Page, but playing slow crying blues like this takes talent. Ry Cooder is one of the very best. His Hawaiian guitar is kind of different but also fantastic.

  • Dude im totally heart broken but somehow, even when this song is sad, it gets deep inside my soul and kinda make it feel better, this is real blues.

  • True. Blues.

  • love it. Good times bad times.

  • this is the blues at its best

  • made me cry

  • Master of the bottleneck guitar style

  • i love it when he does blues

  • slide guitar and it's purifying power. Ry Cooder being it's conduit.

  • cleanse with pain

  • Such a subtle powerful song, brings a couple of tears just thinking and listening to this song the way it was supposed to be listened to.

  • This goes to show that simple can be great - and what you leave out can be just as powerful as the bits you put in.

  • This is what guitar blues is all about

  • when you have the blues, you listen to this and feel better, no matter how blue

  • Masterpiece

  • No need for lyrics. That guitar sings to my soul, and I know exactly how he feels.

  • thank you. i listen to this song when i feel good and when i feel bad.

  • Masterpiece!

    adore it!

  • Is this on CD?

  • @anonymouslolxD

    buy it on vinyl.

    "Crossroads" motion picture soundtrack

  • @dilapsio Don't have a vinyl player, only 19 ahaha

  • @anonymouslolxD

it's not a problem to buy one :)

    anyway, CDs are sold everywhere

  • @dilapsio It is when you're broke aha

  • @anonymouslolxD you can buy the Crossroads soundtrack on CD. Try ebay for a second hand 1 or download this video through realplayer and extract the audio with AoA Audio Extractor which u can download for free. Then u have the mp3 on your pc.

  • Leave brittiny alone just stop ffs just leave her alone, always picking on brittiny ffs just leave her alone, please stop it leave her alone ROFL

  • perché 10 "non mi piace"? scusate, se non vi piace allora ascoltate pure un altro tipo di musica, perché provate a sporcare con le vostre disoneste mani questo pezzo di cielo? comunque morirete presto

why 10 "dislike"? sorry, if you don't like then listen to another kind of music, why you try to mess this piece of heaven by your dishonest hands? however, you will die soon

  • @jackjjj82 A parte l'augurio di morire, che, ti rammento, torna indietro come tutte le maledizioni...ma mi spieghi come cazzo fa uno a dire che un pezzo non gli piace se non lo ha ancora sentito?

  • @jackjjj82 fuck you idiot.

  • @jackjjj82 I can understand you man. But obviously people on the internet feel the need to express their likes and dislikes. Water off a duck's back to me.

I have played and replayed this track countless numbers of times and enjoy it EVERY time. The blues and I guess this is a type of Mississipi blues .... is one of the foundations of the music which we call rock and roll and later stuff ..... Just ignore them ... for they know not what they hear!!!

  • Very few guitarist can make strings reach deep inside you and rip your insides out, all without saying a word. Ry is just a legend...

  • 2:13 For those who are looking for the part used in the movie.

  • @drblues3 man that's hard...i wish you a good blues!

  • :'( my baby is about to leave me. He's guitar's crying for me

  • Pure.

  • this is a fuckin man on her slide ...

  • Fantastic.

  • ...snap

  • To me, "Feelin Bad Blues" is a clear and loving homage to Johnson's "Love In Vain". The amazing tone and brilliant slide work speaks to my soul as maybe Green's "The Supernatural". Ry is a national treasure. I have almost all of his recorded output and never tire of hearing any of it, but especially this track. Peace & love.

  • its like u can feel the song going through ur whole body

  • @Jake11842 hell ye i feel that shit 2 is like being fuckin high really expreses a bad feelin mood but makin worth it

  • GREAAAT !!! T4P !!

  • This is sticking out

  • Had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Ry play in concert at Carnegie Mellon University Skibo Hall in 1970. He is one of the best. Rolling Stone Magazine rates him at number 8 in the top 100 greatest guitarists of all times. greenegoddess13

  • So underrated!! Ry cooder has such soul!! Everyone recognises the Trick bag & duel more than this track.....What a shame this track is hauntingly beautiful!!!

  • hearing this made me wanna quit slide. It is just to beautiful of a sound to give up though ha ha.

  • not tryin to be a dick but am i the only one that noticed he is wearing checkered vans in that pic.

  • the excerpt from 'Crossroads' begins at 2:20 in this clip. i love this sound, man.

  • where is that picture from?, I would like to know what sort of car he is sitting in front of.

  • He plays slide in standart tuning or he uses specific one?

  • @adomux33 tune a note down to DADF#AD

  • One of the best here ... sitting listening to this over and over again {{{ smiles }}} , one of very few spins I use to play in my car, to chill out anywhere I am, it works totally, an honour to listen too. thankyou Ry.

  • this gave me goosebumps! :]

  • 10 earless flucks out there!

  • Did a search for rain mood and played it at same time. Brilliant.

  • @mikeporter333 Actually it was Arlen Roth who learned Maccio how to play guitar and he also played a lot of the music that Maccio 'playbacks' in the movie. And Steve Vai plays both parts, rock and classical, at the end of the movie. But for me this piece of music from Ry Cooder is absolutely awesome! Beautifull...

  • @becat72 actually ry cooder did all ralph maccio"s guitar playing in that movie.

  • @TheFastgixxer Hmmm, i got this info off the 'Arlen Roth' website:

Ralph and I became very close, and we had a ball. What a great student!! Of course, he only had to get good enough to 'fake" to the parts I played in the film.

Check out Arlen's website under 'about'

  • 10 people are still watching cartoons...

  • i love this song epic now i can comment on it :]

  • great ,,can you hear johnson, hitchin a ride on the rails,

  • This movie had a great soundtrack; too bad it was just a vehicle for that hack Ralph Macchio. Not only did Ry Cooder play most of the tunes, but Steve Vai also showed up for a great "Cuttin" Heads" session.

  • Amazing maybe he should do another version with this dubbed over it. Thanks for the hint.

  • Sorry but many people who like composers and musicians know of Ry Cooder. I think I'm going to listen to a collection of his work tonight. Thanks for the great idea.

  • Some of the most beautiful guitar work ever recorded was done by Ry Cooder. The man can play with a mountain of soul and melody. This is one of his finest pieces.

  • 10 people cant play the guitar.......

  • 10 people without heart. :\

  • oh Jesus!!

  • wow

  • mesmerizing...Ry Cooder is a god!

  • Blues ain't nothin' but a good man feelin' bad,

  • I have listened to this song for years on certain nights. usually, it's raining outside, it's summer and my woman is doing me wrong. I miss her. Tonight, I had to delete her from my FB because she was posting about her new bf. I'm drinking whiskey and listening to this song. It just feels right. God bless Ry Cooder because that man knows the blues in a man's heart.

  • Geez that was sweet!

  • Such a great movie!! I'm offended Brittney Spears made a Crossroads movie!! Don't do that! This movie is a true classic

  • Wow! What album is this on ??

  • I just listened to this 10 times... there's more depth each time!!!!!

I've always kept an eye out for Ry.... but after watching a bunch of his collaborations here... he's right up there with David Gilmour as my two favorite guitarists of all time.

Thank you Ry.... thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Played with such passion and emotion. Masterpiece.

  • There's a million imitators and tryhards ive heard on here, but not 1 comes close to the Ry Cooder original. I wont presume to know where the sound comes from, i'm just a skinny white boy, but this is truly the sound of the Blues (capital B). Ive loved this song from the moment I heard it on "Crossroads" (the movie)

  • 10 people who disliked are ASSHOLES

  • Amazing song indeed, although there seems to be a bit showboating from people here with the "nobody has heard of him but I have" stuff, from the amount of soundtracks, colaborations ect he has done he is hardly unheard of. Anyone really into blues would know he is the guitarist for the Captain Beefheart album Safe as milk for example. Anyway, total legend.

  • There are a few words to describe this tallent and the one i would use is brilliance, mr cooder you are the only person in the modern day that can bring the slide blues to life..

  • @cm8198 Let's see now Ry cooder on slide guitar,Vannesa mae on violin, yngwie mamsteen on lead cosy powell on drums Noddy holder on vocals or Ozzy who can we put on Bass? would'nt it be nice to put bands together?

  • @Blackcountry7777

Louis Johnson, John Paul Jones, Victor Wooten, maybe Marcus Miller???

  • 9 Lady Gaga fans stopped by to get a reality slap. And none of them appreciated it, which is hilarious.

  • Yup, I can see the music because I sure can feel it.

  • music like this, can save you from yourself.

them bluez will eat you away

  • I'm feeling like the sound of this guitar.

    Good night :-)

  • have mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • deep feelin', love this scene in Crossroads, Ry Cooder also, great slidin' guitar, amazing mood!!!

  • 9 people were tapping along on the mouse , and accidently pushed the "dislike" button..

  • i Put this on every morning. good start on the day

  • First saw Ry Cooder in concert at the Liberty Hall venue in Houston Texas, about 1974. I still can hear him now.

  • The pure black soul in a white man!

  • I'm going to stay up late listening to this...

  • 9 people are happy all the time...and have no time for music.

  • Master of the craft.

  • Blues aint nothin but a good man feeling bad....now thats some wisdom!!!

  • If you listen close, through the Magic of Ry Cooder, you hear the voices of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Son House, Elmore Jones, and many others. What they are saying is simple. "Welcome Ry, you're home with us, and you belong" You're not a color, you're a legend.

  • As of 6/18/2011, 9 people with no taste whatsoever.

  • "Ry Cooder, the finest guitarist no one ever heard of." Amen brother.

  • Ry Cooder, the finest guitarist no one ever heard of.

  • @PinkOld well said. I've been in so many corners, old, older poeple, with all kinds of shirts, and noone has heard of this guy...

  • @PinkOld Oh, he's very well known in the small group of people who understand the relationship between the blues and the heart. He could tell you the best stories with out ever saying a word.

  • @PinkOld amen to Ry cooder my bruther brings a tear to your eye on the back porch looking up at the stars cheers

  • @PinkOld Amen

  • @PinkOld man that shit is epic:)) its like actually plain on a rain MAN THATS SICK THANKS!!!

  • @PinkOld That includes me. My world just got a lot better.

  • you gotta love this how can anyone not like the blues its where it all started better than manafactured pop stars who cant write a tune or play an instrument thats why theyre disposable cant see em talkin bout justin beiber in 60 years yeah thatl happen

  • it dont get no better

  • This one of the greatest and most emotional pieces of music ever composed. I feel it in my heart and soul, the true Delta Master.

It's my dream one day to meet Mr. Cooder.

    Dannyjoe Carter

  • another cooder gem

  • There's no "drugs": bass, drums or more....only one slide, a guitar and a pair of magic hands. True great, awesome Blues.

  • @BluesNeo yEAH, HE'S JUST ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE WITH THAT CLICK IN THEIR HEAD.. CONNECTING THE PLAYING WITH YOUR SOUL COMPLETELY! I'M ON MY WAY THERE MYSELF. ITS A MAGICAL PLACE WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR MOMENTS. ETERNITY BLESS ALL OF YOUS BLUES PLAYAS!

  • @BluesNeo There also the Fender Vibro-King amp that is elemental to this sound

  • no ones heard of Peter Green round these parts then?

  • @ianhayden it's not a competition. admiring ry doesn't diss peter in any way. in fact, if you look at ry's history, you'll see that other musicians adore him (and it's mutual).

    g

  • Ry Cooder and Stevie Ray Vaughan are the two best ever when it comes to the guitar.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I would agree.

  • What is it with people pointing out their age? Dumb.

  • I'm crying with this...simply captured my soul; I'm going to the crossroad to meet the devil for playing guitar like this man

  • Im 22, A metal guitar player and a guitar teacher. This type of guitar playing is THE PIVOTAL point of playing, coming from someone who for the longest time considered this type of music to be "overdone" and "outdated". It still carries with it the most important aspects of music. Tone, finesse, emotion, style. Anybody who can say this doesnt impress or inspire them can enjoy their beiber fever.

  • @establishedfeb89 I'm with you man. This is the epitome of emotion.

  • @establishedfeb89 No one cares if you like metal or how old you are.

  • @boxtrap21 You obviously do to post. Free time much?

  • All that's missing is the guitar's tears.

    THIS is music!!

  • 7 people need to move to North Korea or Cuba. That way great music can be supressed from them.
