  • cool song but boss hogg needs help

  • Just picturing Boss Hogg on the reality show "So You Think You Can Dance". Appreciate the fact that Buck is really singing and playing. Many others just lip-synced.

  • LOve Buck Owens and the Buckaroos!!! We used to watch He Haw on TV all the time!!

  • The lead singer looks like Chuck Norris.

  • Goddamn! get it Boss Hog!

  • I always thought is was so funny the relationship between the Dukes, Boss Hogg and Roscoe. They were always trying to blackmail, shanghi, rustle and jail the Dukes and then at the end of the show (As witnesses in this clip) they were all friends and the Dukes even frequented (and worked) at the Boars Nest....80's TV. If only politicians were like that. We'd all be much better off!!

  • Whats Boss drinking?

  • Pat Smear (Germs, Nirvana, Foo Fighters) has Buck's guitar and loves it.

  • Look like there are others than Buck who Got a tiger by the tail ? :-) Funny :-))

  • what episode was this?

  • Boars nest is the place to be

  • @RisingSon011 yes it is out here in ontario canada we got one lol

  • I love it how you can hear Buck strumming the strings on the guitar that's not even plugged in! These shows were sow cheesey, but that's why we all loved them.

  • @TheMsinglink I noticed that as well. Hilarious!

  • JUST GOTTA LOVE IT.. Bakersfield music now representing!!

  • I love boss hogg he fat but he can dance

  • The prices on this clip were intended to be outrageously high, to show how corrupt Boss Hogg is. $2 for popcorn, $5 for beer, $30 for a speeding ticket. These days, it would REALLY be $6 for popcorn, $8.50 for beer, and $206 for a speeding ticket!

  • Roscoe was quite a picker in his day. Check him out on old Andy Griffith episodes.

  • @wayne3302264 that wasn't roscoe playing in Andy Griffith. He was faking it. Although, I am sure he can play the guitar, banjo.

  • Boss Hogg,, lol

  • This was the 6:00 am call to post for my Dad and all the other Air Force Men at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany. They piped it over those huge old style outdoor speakers... So every morning it was Buck Owens as loud as an air raid siren, "I ....got ...... a ........ Tiger by the Tail"! Great Memories!

  • is that chuck norris??

  • that guy to the right of buck got me fired from my job! all i did was find his number on company computer... and called as a fan. thaks doyle! thanks alot!

  • Wow Daisy's got the yummiest legs in the world!

  • What episode is this??

  • if i had johnny's cash i wouldnt have a buck owen on my car

  • i love this song i guess that is because at one time or another we have all had a tiger by the tail i guess i felt like i had one by the tail in vietnam i was not the smartest person in the world and wound up with the 101st airborne i saw men killed by rockets morters and gunfire but the crulest thing i ever saw was done b y two doctors working in one of the largest hospitals in tulsa for more info please see [msbones1950] a waiting grave

  • Another #1 hit for Buck Owens on the Country & Western charts. It was the 82nd #1 song on the C&W charts in the Rock Era. By this time, it looked like this man from Bakersfield, CA was going to be a force in Country Music.

  • i just watched this episode on cmt. good ole dukes

  • It's funny Bo is not there yet you can hear the recording of him doing his YEEHAW!

  • French version by Claude François.

  • ha cooter!!!

  • Who are Larry and Gitis?

  • chuck norris and charles bronson

  • This is awesome does anyone know what season this was?

  • @hillbillyJoe55 this was season 4.

  • @rootvalue sounds like that's what you are, but Buck Owens' music & Dukes of Hazzard are just good clean fun, I'm yelling YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAH!!! right now!!!

  • i would like to get Daisy Duke by the tail

  • @ClassicRockfan79 lol aint it the truth

  • @ClassicRockfan79 lol aint it the truth

  • Yeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwww,......reminds me of back home, havin' keggers over by the river road and at the Big G, draggin' main and makin' out with the foxy chicks,....ohhhh Bonnie Simpson,....what a HOTTIE!!! = D

  • whats up with the beer being five dollars a glass? should have been like a nickel back then...my local bar is still only two dollars and that comes with a room and a bath.

  • @flycentro123 thats cuz boss owns the boars nest

  • @flycentro123

Really! Even in 1979-1985, $5.00 a pitcher would probably have been more appropriate. Of course, Jefferson Davis "Boss" Hogg was sometming of a con artist, so why wouldn't $5.00-a-glass beer at the Boar's Nest surprise me?

  • id like to have about 6 pitchers of beer and take the General Lee for a rip

  • damn i love daisy duke!

  • That beer seemed a little pricey, no?

  • who's the guy singinng harmony

  • One of the best American TV series ever produced. From canada with love.

  • look, its chuck norris lol

  • Holy shit I remember this!

  • Buck in his outlaw phase here. Catherine Bach in her prime, I'm drooling. Sorrell Booke and James Best were comic geniuses who never got their due, and good old handsome Tom Wopat from Lodi, Wisconsin...a lovely place. I think Tom still comes to the Jefferson County Fair every year too!

  • Buck was in his outlaw phase here. Sorrell Booke is still a comic genius, love James Best. Catherine Bach was in her prime here (hubba hubba). And that handsome Tom Wopat from Lodi, Wisconsin...a lovely place to spend the day. Tom even comes and sings at the Jefferson County Fair a lot...great guy.

  • I turned the sound off and pictured ol' Buck singing the theme to "Walker, Texas Ranger" (especially at about :25).

  • my favorite celebrity speed trap is hoyt axton's "out of state cars" and when he says "that yellow light only lasts 1/10 of a second" you can see rosco taking notes, haha.

  • Buck sounds great.....he doesn't even have have his guitar plugged into an amp, just like his bass player.

  • also you can hear drums and theres no drummer.

  • also theres a pedal steel guitar somewhere in there.

  • $5 a glass for a beer!???? Damn......Times must have been tough in Hazzard County.

  • California cowboy wearing an Oklahoma hat stopping over for a gig in Harlem when in the begining they rode off from Tenn. Something like that.

  • This is one of my favorite videos too!

  • Betcha Tiger would like to have Daisey by the Tail.

  • TIGER? Hell, I'd rather have Daisy Duke by the tail. I bet her cousins Bo & Luke were shagging that Hazzard County p'tang!

  • dukes of hazzard went down a notch after enos left!!! was never the same show again

  • @smiley66goodvibes67 Enos came back for the last 3 years. He was only gone for 2.

  • buck owens rules, one of the all time greats, i miss don rich so much

  • I knew someone who supplied the cars for this show. The 'General Lee' was a big part of this show. Great song!

  • Buck without Don was still top three against anybody else !

  • Sounds like Buck was trying to get through this performance as fast as possible.

  • In Scandinavia this song was enormous popular!!!

  • This is great...Thanks very much for posting this...5***** :-)

  • boss hog, LOL!!!

  • Yeah, Boss Hog was so funny :-)

Dukes of Hazzard was one of my favorite TV series.

  • Big thanks for posting this! In addition to what Mowac and Gaines said, We-the-Fans never got over losing DDR either! This stings a little to see Buck so flat and wounded.

  • 11$ 4 A BEER AT NISSAN PILVILON VA

  • too awesome...thx so much for posting....tear up that speeding ticket from grabbing the tiger by the tail....lol...

  • I knew Boss Hogg was a greedy, beady eyed little fat bastard, but $5 a beer? 25 years ago?

    Sheeiitt!

Todays concert promoters took his cue, because a beer will set you back $7 at

Verizon Wireless Music Center in Indy!

  • 1981

  • I love how she pours a glass of beer foam. I guess it's free refills, too.

  • hahaha

  • Buck never got over the death of Don Rich. And his years after Don's death clearly reflect that. He looked like singing 'Tiger By The Tail' was a burden here in this clip because Don Rich wasn't singing it with him.

  • Buck said in a 1999 interview "After the death of Don Rich, the spark was gone, the drive was gone , all the passion for music was gone"..Buck suffered a nervous breakdown and never really got over it

  • He was heartbroke for the rest of his life over that.

  • I was too young to remember Buck and Don Rich on Hee Haw, but I sure do appreciate all the old clips of Buck & Don now. I do remember the gray-haired guy singing harmony with Buck. Whats his name? He's the one I vividly remember from my childhood days watching Hee Haw.

  • Doyle Curtsinger is his name. He is often called Doyle Singer for short.

  • I didnt know Chuck Norris could sing! HA HA

  • YEAH, I ljust love that Bakersfield Sound.

  • lol...you don't scare me but you soon got to let my tail go becasue it is starting to hurt....lol...stop playing this game and come and fix my tail..

  • Bo WAS in this episode, but not in this scene where Buck was performing, I remember watching this episode because John was in it for the original story line.

  • Buck sure could use "Dangerous" Don in this!

  • God no kidding! Sheesh!

  • God yes! Sheesh! Don RIP.

  • too bad don was way dead and buried by then

  • Yeah, you can tell that Buck is just going through the motions on this. His heart clearly isn't in it.

  • Dancin' Boss Hogg! Go Boss Go!

  • 1981

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Guess I missed this episode because I sure don't remembe Buck being on any of 'em!!

    ~Derek

  • Don sure is missing. I think it was also hard for Buck singing the song without him :-(

  • wheres bo?

  • John Schneider was filming a movie(eddie macam run) during that episode. Bo was either at a Marines recruitment or something like that.

  • We'll im Mexican American, but this the true heart and soul music of our Great Country! God Bless Buck and the US of A

  • @fernandocontreras24

my mom introduced me to gospel and my dad introduced me to country. hell yeah! and i hate the dukes of hazzard. idiot. show.

  • @fernandocontreras24 you are a good man

  • @fernandocontreras24 - Correction- You're an American of Mexican Descent.

  • he looks like Chuck Norris

  • yes he does :B

  • 1981

  • What can I say??? I still miss Him!!!!

The greatest ever!!! Him and Don!!! And great Dukes!!!I'm from Rome but I think I'm a redneck :-).

    CIAO from ROME, ITALY

  • It sounds better with Don Rich!

  • u ain't redneck if u don't love the dukes of hazzard and buck owens dude!!

buck looks a lot different in this episode

  • Buck always seems to sing differently on each version of a song and always sounds great everytime. Never seems to fall back on the same ol' same ol'.

  • still miss him and roy clark together

  • i 4got that bbuck owens made an appearance on the dukes of hazzard,

  • Good song, and the location The Boars Nest is also Verry Good.

    Greets from Holland
