I love how he made that shit up about putting a rabbit on the floor. I have around 40 rabbits and they all go on the floor. I do not eat my rabbits so I wouldn't really know. But know of my rabbits are sick and they all play on the floor for at least 2 hours o the floor (grass).

Looks just like big agriculture chicken houses. This is no different than Tyson chicken plant really. Rabbits are pretty and thats why some feel like they shouldn't be raised like chickens for food..Rabbit meat is lean and low in fat. It's very good. I tried to be a Vegetarian but by the 30 day mark I just felt hungry all the time no matter how much I ate. O well to each his own..

@LazyHaleyJRabbitry I definitely agree. The structure of those rabbits are probably compromised as well being so cramped. Their hocks have no way to stretch out and their hips are in a constant fixed position. I am surprised that the rabbits have no battle wounds for such cramped and close quarters. It may make for a more tender meat, but the treatment is not appropriate. It's all about fitting in as much product in a smaller area to have less expenses. It's a shame really.

I think the place looks very clean and the rabbits aren't pacing and look adjusted. The guy is right about coccidiosis which is why most people wont eat wild rabbits or at least not eat them until after a hard freeze with the idea that the sick wild rabbits wont live through a hard freeze if they are sick..
I am starting rabbit farming and am going to use a large area to keep my rabbits including recreation facilities like slides, tunnels and wheels. When it comes time to clean up I shift all the rabbits from one end and lock them then do the same with the other side. But its definitely is going to be a cage :( .

its the living conditions, the way they're killed, and the amount of litters they have to have each year. all they do is breed. nothing else. how would you like it? not sure if your a boy/girl whatever but thats around 10 babies per litter and 1 litter per month. thats 120 kids per year.

Thats actually a nice set up best i have seen in a while. For all of you out there saying this is crule well yes they could live better but then you have higher chances of animals getting sick outside those rabbits look healthy well fed and have a decent amount of space. He seems to be runing a nice meat rabbitry with good practices.

Rabbits are very very clever and to eat one is inhumane. Rabbit is red meat and will stay in your stomach for up to 20 years so it is ac tually VERY bad for you in some cases.
This set up does not seem good for the rabbits. They have no place to exercise and they are crammed in those little cages with no hay or vegetables. They need hay to keep their digestive systems working properly. They should not have the wire bottoms to the cages, as this is bad for their feet, and there is nothing for them to do in those cages. They need stimulation. I guess no one cares about this, as they are going to eat them. I think this is just plain sad.

I would like to point out, for any that don't know, picking up a rabbit (or almost any young animal) by the back of the neck like that is perfectly humane, and hurts the rabbit in no way. Dogs, cats, and other mammals carry their offspring like that naturally.

I have lots of basically free-range rabbits in my yard. They are so happy, running, jumping, lazing around, they are so beautiful. This is so sad to see all these rabbits in total captivity. @OMandii Actually, "scruffing" rabbits is an accepted practice. Rabbits generally do not like to be touched on their bellies or under the chin, and lifting them by the loose skin around the neck is kind of like how a cat carries a kitten. Another way to carry rabbits safely is in a "football" hold with their head tucked under your arm, but you don't have the same level of control that you get when scruffing a rabbit. Hope that helps clear things up! :)

I think the place looks very clean and the rabbits aren't pacing and look adjusted. The guy is right about coccidiosis which is why most people wont eat wild rabbits or at least not eat them until after a hard freeze with the idea that the sick wild rabbits wont live through a hard freeze if they are sick..

I am starting rabbit farming and am going to use a large area to keep my rabbits including recreation facilities like slides, tunnels and wheels. When it comes time to clean up I shift all the rabbits from one end and lock them then do the same with the other side. But its definitely is going to be a cage :( .

just because they make cute pets doesnt mean that the entire world needs to adhear to your point of view. more "Advanced" societies keep pets where as other (the majority of the world) doesn't have that Luxury, if you raise it you are normally planning on eating it. i would rather raise my own meat with no chemicals and hormones than sit there and say "Oh im gonna have a salad b/c it is too cute"

Thats actually a nice set up best i have seen in a while. For all of you out there saying this is crule well yes they could live better but then you have higher chances of animals getting sick outside those rabbits look healthy well fed and have a decent amount of space. He seems to be runing a nice meat rabbitry with good practices.

This set up does not seem good for the rabbits. They have no place to exercise and they are crammed in those little cages with no hay or vegetables. They need hay to keep their digestive systems working properly. They should not have the wire bottoms to the cages, as this is bad for their feet, and there is nothing for them to do in those cages. They need stimulation. I guess no one cares about this, as they are going to eat them. I think this is just plain sad.

@ZZhou2011 I don't think they look happy. They don't look terrified, but that's hardly a measure for happiness. With cages that size, a rabbit can't even express happiness. They just look like they have the bare necessities, and they're waiting to die. Not bad maybe, but it's disturbing to people because there's no discernible difference between pet rabbits and meat rabbits. Farm bunnies look just like shelter bunnies, and people sympathize with pets.

I would like to point out, for any that don't know, picking up a rabbit (or almost any young animal) by the back of the neck like that is perfectly humane, and hurts the rabbit in no way. Dogs, cats, and other mammals carry their offspring like that naturally.

I have lots of basically free-range rabbits in my yard. They are so happy, running, jumping, lazing around, they are so beautiful. This is so sad to see all these rabbits in total captivity. This is so unnatural. I would rather eat free-range healthy meat then this. Those animals have feelings how would you like to be in a tiny jail your whole life...sick!

@OMandii Actually, "scruffing" rabbits is an accepted practice. Rabbits generally do not like to be touched on their bellies or under the chin, and lifting them by the loose skin around the neck is kind of like how a cat carries a kitten. Another way to carry rabbits safely is in a "football" hold with their head tucked under your arm, but you don't have the same level of control that you get when scruffing a rabbit. Hope that helps clear things up! :)
