This is terrible art. The guy put together an aesthetically unappealing object, made up an elaborate but illogical justification for why it matters, then a bunch of suckers believed him. The majority of modern art is complete garbage. The artists merely sell you a concept. You should look at an artwork and evaluate it for what it is. If one knew nothing of the context of this work, even of urinals, they wouldn't praise it. It's terrible.

Tipico esempio di artista ridicolo che, evidentemente con le dovute raccomandazioni, ha fatto i miliardi. Opere oscene di questo tipo sono un insulto alla memoria di Rembrandt, Rubens, Caravaggio, Leonardo, Raffaello, Tiziano e compagnia. Mi piacerebbe tanto fare un bel rogo di tutte le opere dadaiste : artisti ridicoli con una fantasia interpretativa pari a quella di un cane, anzi un cane saprebbe fare di meglio. OSCENO.

Artista ridicolo? ma forse tu non hai la benchè minima idea di cosa sia la mente di Duchamp.

Rembrandt,Rubens,Caravaggio, Leonardo, Raffaello,Tiziano e compagnia sono degli esteti che nonostante abbiano effettuato scelte estetiche anticonformiste, mettendo spesso a repentaglio l'esistenza fisica delle loro opere,non arriveranno mai e poi al livello intellettivo di Duchamp! (ne salvo veramente pochi altri.)

Se lei mette in secondo piano i MOSTRI SACRI che ho citato rispetto a quell'artista AVARIATO che era M. Duchamp per conto mio le soluzioni sono soltanto due : o lei di arte se ne intende davvero molto poco o lei ( ed è quello che sono portato a pensare ) manca molto di gusto ( non la prenda come un'offesa peronsale ). Si sciacqui lei la bocca quando tira in ballo gente che, come gli artisti che ho citato, sapeva veramente creare opere MAGNIFICHE.

A dirla tutta Duchamp delle raccomandazioni se ne faceva veramente poco dato che non gli è mai interessato il pubblico.Smise di dipingere intorno ai 25 anni eppure è stato sempre presente nel panorama artistico del tempo.Non firmava le sue opere proprio perche,ripeto,non gli interessava assolutamente tutto ciò..Un artista invisibile,un mercante del silenzio.

Tra un po' si prenderanno assorbenti sporchi, si tirerà fuori qualche autentica cazzata di carattere filosofico, e si arriverà a dire che anche quella lì è arte. La maggior parte delle opere moderne / contemporanee fa autenticamente schifo : da Duchamp a Fontana, da Fautrier a Pollock, fino ad arrivare ai giorni nostri con Cattelan, Penone, Pistoletto e compagnia bella. Gente che, dal mio punto di vista, rappresenta un'offesa alla memoria dei grandi artisti del passato. Idem i poeti.

Ho conosciuto gente molto informata in materia ( mi scusi ma delle lezioni di un " pivellino/a " di 23 anni forse neanche laureato/a non ne ho proprio bisogno ) che elogiava il dadaismo ma ho sempre cercato di mantenere una mia opinione. L' opera venne inizialmente rifiutata perchè ritenuta oscena e offensiva.Duchamp qui tocca il culmine dell' ironia e della dissacrazione.L' oggetto è fatto di tubi e invasi e la sua forma, secondo Maurizio Calvesi, richiama il ventre materno. Per molti la "Fontana" è una scultura ermafrodita che allude alla sfera dell' autoerotismo.

duchamp did this to make people question what art is. some people think that you need the artistic talent to be an artist. some people believe that its the concept. i guess to you, this is not a piece of art and youre doing exactly what he wanted people to do. in fact the original fountain was smashed to pieces because someone hated it that much.
