If you notice, Micks guitar sound is a little tighter than Jims. That's because his strings are a bit bigger and the speakers he uses are better for drop tuned, high gain stuff.

Alright dude. Shredding is one thing (Mick) playing a solo to better the music and the lyrics (Slash) is another thing. Sure, many guitarists can "shred" faster then others but thats just it. Its shredding. Not much thought goes into it. But When doing a solo like slash or jimi hendrix, they put thought into it. It goes to match the music. Get it right and dont dog great guitarists. Because a guitarists bite? Is WAY worse then their bark =)
