  • I love this song, thanks for uploading! But I was wondering if anybody had a link to the accurate lyrics of this song? I've looked it up and found lots of different things, with none of them quite seeming to be completely accurate.

  • this song is what got Northwest Hip Hop going

  • I love this song because it is an awesome song;

    I love this song because it reminds of a girl I love but cannot have;

I listen to it and think of her and all the emotions come rushing back.

This makes me hate this song but love it all the more for it.

  • Is this Rap or Hip Hop? Ether way, i've never heard any this good before. I'm sure glad I was looking for a song with this name : )

  • @MalWareProductions Rap IS Hip Hop but Hip Hop is more than just rap, its freestylin, battling, graf writing, its breaking as in breakdancing, its beatboxing, its emceeing, its a lifestyle. "Hip means to know It's a form of intelligence To be hip is to be up-date and relevant Hop is a form of movement You can't just observe a hop You got to hop up and do it Hip and Hop is more than music Hip is the knowledge Hop is the movement Hip and Hop is intelligent movement" - KRS-One
  • Yesssss I Love It

  • @sevensillyseals look up AOTP-"Seven"

    Yak Ballz-"homework"

    Cool Calm Pete"lost"

  • yup

  • Why the fuck are people talking about politics. All these little internet arguments over youtube videos won't change shit. So instead of wasting your times arguing with people you dont know and probably will never now. Spend it listening to this dope track.

  • @Z4chSh4ck we do listen to the dope track. then we argue about things that we care about to get an unknowns perspective and becouse we're bored. sometimes thats what you need to make up your own mind and to check if ur head is in the right place.

its proven to make u smarter, you should try it out :D

  • @Z4chSh4ck You're right...people waste time with dumb arguments about shit they don't know. But, I would say that +90% of this song is talking about political issues.

  • @Z4chSh4ck ironic, Blue Scholars lyrics represents the society we live in...

  • super nice song~

  • the rhymes in this song are fck.. brillant

  • this song saved my life today

  • @MrSparkymane I'm glad.

  • twenty people disliked, they must hate rap.

  • pls shut up and stop whining, people can dislike or talk whatever they want . So please stop trying to stop them, its dumb.

  • hey dipshits stop making statuses regarding the number of people who disliked this video. you need to understand that music is subjective and all depends on the ears of the beholder. just because you and I like this doesn't mean that others aren't entitled to their own tastes. On every god damn video at least 1 person has to say something about that... maybe they meant to click "like" and their hand slipped, maybe they really do dislike it, maybe they are trying to get reactions out of yall

  • thanks Noted derk

  • finally rap thats chilling <3

  • Check out my Blue Scholars vs Bigge mashup

  • I don't see what all this shit between mainstream hop hop being better/worse than underground hip hop is about. Music is music, I love all types - mainstream or underground. If you know someone is good or talented, or you like their sound, then why should you care what other people think?

Just listen and enjoy the music, that's what its here for. I support both mainstream artists and underground artists, both have their "good" artists.

  • @organizedConfoosion Obviously you are correct in your thinking. But the problem is that music like this doesnt get play on the radio, so a lot of people assume the stuff on the radio (wether they like it or not) represents hip hop or rap, when in fact hip hop is a lot more conscious and versatile then what is being potrayed by the media...

  • @hiphopheadONE Yeah, I understand the point you're getting at. Pretty much the only "mainstream" artists I still listen to (as in their new stuff as well as their old) are Em (regardless of people thinking he's a sellout, he still has depth, substance, concepts, etc.) and Drake (from YMCMB, he's the only decent one IMO when he wants to be). But other than that I tend to listen to mostly underground, because as you said it's more versatile (or tends to be) and the lyrics have meaning usually.

  • @BombayBawBagZ Dude if you actually watched the california girls video you'd realize you're wrong because its amazing: you get to see snoop dawg in a full cupcake suit. get out.

  • @BombayBawBagZ Listen man, you need to calm down, for one, and second if you actually understood the definition of elitist you'd realize it can apply to both the underground and "the charts". So if you'll only listen to songs with less than 20 you tube hits, and think everything else is shit you're as elitist as someone who can't listen to anything but the top 10.

  • @MrLoopdedoo i take into consideration songs that are awesome , unfortunately that means most of the time songs with little youtube hits . mostly songs with big youtube hits like " Baby " " California Girls " " Black and Yellow " are fucking shit . Coincidence ? The only good chart song to come out in a while is ed sheeran - a team . its a uk tune and it's quality . but in general the trend is chart tunes=shite , less discovered artists tunes= much better and more effort put into it

  • Wow i like this

  • OccupyWallst??

  • DOPE shit from seattle 206!!!!!

  • ahahah all the top comments have 69 likes ;)

  • Don't care about the dumb shit..... this is hip hop in my opinion..

  • a guy on omegle was listening to this band i love it :')

  • Great shit. You guys wanna hear a new up and comer from the northwest check this out youtube.com/watch?v=_Xpid5oOnM0&feature=feedu

  • DanRezler...

  • I know that you posted this along time ago but honestly i love your music and i am doing my hardest through Facebook to promote your videos.

  • And this my good people.... Is real music.

  • thanks Dan Rezler!

  • Dan Rezler sent me here. It's not my type of music (I'm a Disney music and country music sort of a girl), but it's not horribly bad.

  • @RapunzelNames hahahahahahha what a shitty taste of music! disney music ANDDD country!?!?!

  • @njdkidd1231 Everybody has their own taste in music that makes them happy. I have mine and you have yours. We may not agree on our tastes, but diversity keeps life fun and interesting.

  • @njdkidd1231 don't be an asshole and shit on people's music

  • @njdkidd1231 so what if someone's taste in music isn't the same as yours? you wouldn't make fun of yours so don't make fun of hers because she likes her music just as much as you like yours, respect that.

  • @RichyBMelodies Want a cookie? and maybe he just kept refreshing the page.. you sir.. shut the fuck up

  • Amazing.

  • This is real rap! true meaningful lyrics we need more of that!!

  • How are they still considered "underground" when half of their songs have 500,000+ views? Underground is bullshit. All the "underground" bands would sell out if the money was right. Just started listening to these guys, they're pretty sick.

  • @Zakk2626 Nujabes for example? He was underground, but very well known.

    High View Count ≠ Mainstream

    Low View Count ≠ Underground

  • @Zakk2626 Not really, if you can play guitar then you can either make streamline music in order to make money, or you can make music that is not streamline purposely in order to make music for the sake of making music (which a lot of people do). Many bands/groups would not sell out, though Blue Scholars would be an act to sell out.

  • @Zakk2626 I think people got different views on underground, some means unsigned/unknown artists, while some just mean dope emces with sick rhymes and beats.

  • the biggest issue i have with mainstream is a lot of every thing sounds the same, always talkin bout money, bitches, cars, drugs i mean underground does too but it's not every thing but thats pretty much what you here every day on the radio, there are a few exceptions but it just seems songs on the radio dont have any thing meaningful to say like back in the 80s and early 90s, people care more bout selling albums and making money in mainstream and thats where the big difference in the music is

  • @richiedls1 exactly man, i dont really listen to mainstream hip-hop, but i listen to all good music. i think one of the biggest problems that you forgot was the lack of skill, everyone forgot that money doesnt equal respect, skill does, they forgot how to master the ceremony

  • @shortyblue7 i'm going to have to agree with you on that, i do see a lot of lack in skill for mainstream

  • @shortyblue7 i'm going to have to agree with you on that, i do see a lot of lack in skill for mainstream and a bunch of one dimensionalism

  • i love the story telling !!!

  • What cross? We got crucified by buckshots... The fucking truth. Best song by the scholars for me. It's a tie with Loyalty.

  • These are rare gems people.. enjoy

  • effortless flow

  • this is my wedding song

  • "Brothers call me 'dog', but they got the letters backwards..." Love that line...

  • anyone know where i could find the instrumental version of this?

  • im soooo pissed

  • hands down blue scholars has their own style that just cant be compared, every song brings a great mood to any bad day and their songs every bar and hook couldnt be better

  • wtf does immortal technique have to do with anything? dude is a conspiracy nut.

  • @rayallen0 agreed. At first, I thought that he had somewhat of a cool message but it's not a art form, it's a manifesto for his insanity.

  • @rayallen0 Theres some truth behind everything he says though. He is definitely more pissed off about it that 90% of us, but at least he spends his profits on orphanages in kabul and never sold out to mainstream bullshitism

  • @rayallen0 you are probably basing that off a few songs your heard. have you listened to 3rd world? i guess not everybody can relate to him.

  • @XZiNsAnEXZ i have listened to him. he was cool in middle school when i was just getting into underground hip hop.

  • Nice song, with an excellent message.

  • so catchy

  • One of my favorite songs across all genres. Please, please keep doing what you're doing.

  • these guys are making such a nice music..

  • I think I account for about half of these 429,000+ views

  • @golflawdog So you're the other half? haha

  • @golflawdog Actually no you don't because if you watched this video 214,000 times back to back it would take you 819 days to do so and seeing as you only joined YouTube on the 26th of May this year I think your claim is highly questionable so SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • @RichyBMelodies Good Lord kid. Do you always go through that much effort to be an asshole?

  • @TheSkoomo I do try.

  • @golflawdog i do for the other half then i guess

  • Like if you love snowboarding to this song!!

  • @MrRipper222 Immortal generalizes too much.

  • @strafer I know that every opinion holds solid ground, but you are in no sound position to critique The Technique.

  • Comment removed

  • @KronikKahn I am. Sorry your feelings got hurt.

  • @strafer It's okay, man. Winning an argument like this comes at a price.

  • It's a soft song, i hate sngs like this, but he can sing! Very good.. not the same like all the charts... :) love ya.. <3

  • @zahnoma how can you hate slow songs?

  • 425.... thousanddd

  • @MrRipper222 yeah i hear ya. but imortal tech gets ...uh.....kinda murderous and such , kinda dark but that is also the appeal of his stuff, like wanting to watch a horror movie or ghost movie etc. ENTERTAINMENT..

  • as a 52 year old whiteboy-finally here some rap i like - allthough i did enjoy eminem and immortal tech but he negitive

  • I like mainstream hip hop separates intellectual leaders from the idiotic mass. Great track friend got me hooked on this

  • hella love from the 253. blue scholars killin it all day.

  • This shit is the best shit to hit the fan in many years. (Meant in a good way

    )

  • 15 people don't have a soul. Because this song hits me smooth.

  • Love hip hop like I love my herb.

    Beautiful track btw

  • Does it really matter which state he's from? Hip-hop is an American art form, just like classic rock, and jazz music.

  • Is this beat borrowed from the hieroglyphics?

  • Sounds reminiscent of Del and E-40 :)

  • 15 people dont know good music

  • You guys should check out Home Brew a band from New Zealand - fucking chilled hip hop, dope accents aswell.

  • Shivers down my spine.

  • "billboards and radio sales are solely determined by promotion***

  • there are a lot of rappers and hip hop artists who excel in the mainstream industry. are you forgetting that billboards and radio sales are solely determined by sales? just because these artists don't have enough funding to promote their albums doesn't mean that they aren't well known or dare i say it, 'mainstream'. tupac was never really mainstream, and when he died he became mainstream because it promoted him.mainstream is determined by what MOST people want- quit hating on an unbias entity

  • Most excellent hip-hop comes from the underground, and that's partly because the underground is alot bigger and more saturated than the mainstream. I can only think of 3 famous rappers and 3 relatively commercial rappers who make great hip-hop (none as great as the Blue Scholars) But the mainstream is alot smaller, so as a percentage there is probably a similar amount of dope hip-hop coming out of the mainstream as the underground, but numerically the underground is way ahead of the mainstream.

  • @19MJsPr89 Good point. Also, the corporate industry wouldn't allow a lot of the music that is in the underground to gain popularity. The music is too positive and empowering; the status quo benefits too much from the shallow, mindless, materialistic trash flooding the radio waves. An ignorant population is easier to control. We need the masses to be lost in their illusion, it makes for less competition in the real world.

  • @Emvaz22 Well said

  • Indeed....underground remains safe.
