My friend made a pneumatic v12 and did an endurance test and it got so hot the cylinders melted so he built another one and I helped him redesign it to run on water
how fast does this thing grab RPM??..id love if you put the I3 back in here and did a 0% to instant 100% throttle and see how fast it grabbed RPM...i honestly would that'd be sick..ik u got the v8 in there but....still :P..and if u ask me id just put this back in here..it still makes about the same power with less air consumtion
I did, but the problem is that those engines consume way too much gas to realize something like that!...however I got an idea of how to do it with smaller cylinders, a small engine that fits in "normal" sized cars, with normal Lego Technic wheels and drivetrain, see how much air they use...
well if we estimate the diameter of the piston to be 10mm, and the lift to be 16mm (assuming the conrod is running on one of dem "6 hole disks") we get about 1,25 cm³ of piston displacement, meaning 2,5 cm³ per cycle per piston because they are usually working in both directions...
A 3 cylinder engine at 500 RPMs will use about 3,75 Liters of gas a minute...
3.5 oz CO2 is 100g is 2.27 MOL is 13.3 Liters at a working pressure of 4 bar (58 PSI)
about 2 months for the original in 2005, but i have rebuilt various parts since then several times. And now i'm making a new version of the car, 4 studs narrower and 4 studs lower. It'll be much lighter and more efficient.
i have no knowledge of the new lego generations , sorry to b the noob but what is that thing u use to power your creations ? the gun looking thingie , btw amazing creations !!!! 5/5
The "pistol" is an air gun that is hooked to a compressor with a 50l air tank. The Engine in the car is not a Lego product, but a LPEpower product (our product), made out of lego parts. It's a pneumatic engine, powered with compressed air.
Awsome but is their a way to lower the price of the pneumatic cylenders. $280 is fucking insane. But its still owns the V8. Id go on with compliments.
There will be more videos. Right now there's a lot of ice and snow outside. An outdoor session is sheduled for sunday. There the car will be allowed to really go fast, because it'll have enough space to do so.
Ford might as well replace the motors in their mustangs with this. They'd probably be faster and more reliable...

does the torque increase if you have more cylinders, like the v8 vs a v6?

@WpA09 torque depends on stroke, piston diameter and number of cylinders...

ever think of using Carbon dioxide canisters?
ComicalFerret 2 years ago
I did, but the problem is that those engines consume way too much gas to realize something like that!...however I got an idea of how to do it with smaller cylinders, a small engine that fits in "normal" sized cars, with normal Lego Technic wheels and drivetrain, see how much air they use...
BeatwatchMitchB 2 years ago
just how much does it use? i mean with a car this size, you might be able to hide a 3.5 oz CO2 canister in there. that should last it a while
ComicalFerret 2 years ago

...that would be 3.5 minutes...
Any questions? :)

i dont think that would be to bad, it wont run constantly, i think it would look pretty good.
