  • i thought the band went form the dixi jam band DJB danny joe... not gater country band correct me if im wrong jrf

  • @jr69futrell the DJB band was in the early 80s when Danny joe left hatchet, then he returned just a short while later, the dixie jam band was made up of former hatchet, blackfoot, outlkaws members and probably a few others. Currently there is a band called gater country made up of former hatchet members Bruce Crump, Steve Holland,Riff West, and Jimmy Farrar( replaced Danny Joe in hatchet in the early 80s he was the singer on the beatin the odds album) Duane Roland was in this band too until he

  • One of their hottest songs ever!! The new band sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Several bands such as I ron Maiden and Molly Hatchet I originally checked out solely for the album covers. I thought, "that has to be some good shit." I was in the 5 th or 6th grade when I first got a Molly Hatchet album from a library. The rest is history, that was 30 years ago. Molly Hatchets first 2 albums are classics among classics. I've been a guitarist for many years and still struggle to play this stuff. There isnt a better flavor of R&R. Nowhere, no time.

  • i bought this album just cause of the ALBUM ART...anyone remember cool album covers...i got into these guys and NAZARETH because of the cool art on thier covers

  • molly hatchet is most awsom

  • omg... not heard this for DONKEYS..... thanks for posting ...x

  • PLEASE POST A LIVE VERSION OF THIS SONG EVEN IF ITS FROM DOUBLE TROUBLE LIVE

  • @haydenwce27 EVERYTHING

  • R.I.P DUANE HOLLAND AND DANNY JOE BROWN

  • man i wish there was still an original band instead of the fake one that only has dave hlubek "the original"

  • I played so much air guitar to this song back in the day... my fingertips actually bled! This is southern fried rock as it was meant to be!

  • This song goes on for ever

  • dude this should be a song menasha high school band should play for all of there half time shows.

  • AWESOME SONG!!! I LOVE IT!!

  • Rockem Duane RIP

  • Danny Joe Brown was awesome...RIP...no Danny Joe=no Hatchet

  • @pcbtiger HELL YEAH

  • except original lead guitarist Hlubek, he is with Molly hatchet

  • this was the FIRST hatchet song i heard!

    what a time!

the current hatchet has Hlubek, he is original, but that is all

no danny joe..no hatchet, know danny joe..................................

  • @geemoneyify man does this bring back the memories. southern music at its best

  • @geemoneyify molly hatchet will on in our hearts man.

  • @caterpillero: I would concur with your assessment of your neighbor. He appears to be a rather unsavory fellow with a complete lack of lumbar support to his body. Foregoing Molly Hatchet because they are not a premier act is simple misdirected and short-sighted! Why, I have a good mind to tell off your neighbor myself! Good for you attending the Jack Daniels band!

  • Got to see Molly Hatchet with The Outlaws in 1978, frwaking awesome show. No BS, I got to smoke a joint wtih Danny J

  • When Molly Hatchet came out in 1978, if I remember correctly, they were one of the most awesome sounding bands of the time. They were freakin great in concert and no BS, I got to smoke a joint with Danny Jo Brown on stage before the show. Only problem was he walked off with it,lol. Good times back then

  • @haydenwce27 never heard devils canyon thats a tough album to find. Silent reign of heros had some good songs, Kingdom of xii wasn't that great. I think Warriors of the rainbow bridge was by far the best Molly Hatchet album since lightning strikes twice

  • @haydenwce27 I liked the last album. Son of the south is a great song but i think they need a better singer for the old stuff like Beating the Odds and Flirtin with disaster

  • OH yeah ....

  • And I quote Ed King...."Southern Rock died the day Molly Hatchet came out."

august 1998 maximum guitar, pg 21.

  • Boogie-llicious

  • Boogie-licious

  • AWESOME!!!!!!! Flirtin with Disaster was the first southern rock record I ever bought. I used to piss the parents off constantly playing them, Rod Stewart, AC/DC, KISS, REO, the list goes on and on.

  • I used to blast this stuff on my sound dynamics back in the day.

Even though they were underrated by a long shot lots of people in my neighborhood used to love them.

  • @haydenwce27 The new Molly Hatchet has all fake members. All the original members are in a band called Gator Country Band.

  • easyone pass the bottle fire up the joint

  • I miss you danny joe

  • i recall being a little kid, listening to them thru the wall of the hardware store next door, cause i couldnt get in.Theyre a tie with Skynyrd for my #1!Met them 3 times,& saw them twice, once with mr DJB still at the front1

  • Awesome bring back the old molly hatchet

  • Awesome bring back the old molly hatchet

  • I used to play this so loud, I got feedback through the needle of my turntable. My dad would practically kick the door in to tell me to turn it down. Ahh, the memories. Ahh, the air guitar moments. I wanna be a kid again.

  • @pindowskivich That an awesome comment man, I just had to say that.. Rock on brother.

  • @djpetenice Thanks!

  • i know personally know the lead guitarist to this band lol!

  • @SavannahAndJules

Yes, Dave Hlubeck. I first met Dave in a big cow field in Inverness, Fl sometime in 1986 or 87...at a Benefit the Manatee concert.

  • Danny Joe Brown is the "Mouth of the South"...period.

  • Awesome "REAL" Molly Hatchet song!!!!

  • They don't move much in this video?

  • Wonderful track from an awesome album, the best of Molly along with their first and "No guts...no glory". What a unforgettable guitar battle at the end... This makes me feel so goooooood!!

  • He likes Charlie Daniels but not Molly Hatchet?

Thats odd.. he must be very old, maybe its too heavy for him

  • This is off the Flirtin' With Disaster album. I got it on vinyl. Never part with it.

  • Never knw the band until a friend sent me this song. To me, southern rock was just lynyrd skynyrd. F'ell,...WHAT A SONG. This is top class.

  • this is HARD southern rock lol

  • Oh yeah totally awasome! Long live sothern rock.

  • haha, "what's the matter with you, your feet never leavin the ground..." Come on, get high, right?

Forgot about this one, love the Hatchet.

  • molly hatchet kick ass!

  • I still have thier first album and Flirtin With Disaster on cassette that I bought back in the mid eighty's,they still play like new.Didn't get Beatin The Odds though simply because Danny Jo Brown wasn't on it,but then when No Guts No Glory came out Danny was back in the band,so I got it too.

  • Haha, cool.

  • my gay ass neightbor from california hates molly hatchet.i guess people from california are all queers.

  • Haha go tell him to listen to this song. :D

  • i've send him this video at least 3 times already!

  • Dont give up!!!!!

  • ha, depends on what part of california. Some of my best memories of partying are with a couple of brothers transplanted from cali to rural pa, and they loved ccr, skynyrd, etc. hell, i bet even some of the fairies from san francisco actually like some good old fashioned rock and roll, but i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not :/

  • GET"R"DONE! HELL YEA!

  • The one, the ONLY, original version.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY,could sing like Danny Joe.

    Don't get me started....

  • not exactly but pete mcormik sounds like him, a little bit.

  • I have been looking for this tune for years. Loved this tune from The Apples and Pears on a Sunday night with the boys. Always one of the last tracks of the night. great tune. Great album
