  • This year my school is doing this for the musical and this is my favorite piece.

  • i love that vibrato he does near the end when he sings trusted so

  • The sound on this is incredible! Thanks for the post! Rex Smith is the best! I saw him in Sunset Blvd in Toronto.

  • my fav part is 1:12-1:30

  • Most epic hit in opera history at 3:48

  • Thanks for putting these up CrayfordDresden ;) My school is doing this play soon ") My friends all keep asking how I know all the people's lines and songs lol :)

  • You should capture the segment between the captain and the Major General about the "orphan frequently"....LMAO

  • @darencavalliere that has got to be one of my scenes in this entire operetta.

  • what does she mean by summers seventeen?? i haven't watched the whole movie though

  • @TheGreengurl123 Ruth (Angela Lansbury) is trying to conceal her age by being poetic and telling Frederic that her love for him is "Seventeen Summers" old.. The punchline comes at the end when Fredrick realizes that her love may be 17 years old, but the rest of her is 47.

  • @TheGreengurl123 they're love has accumulated for seventeen summers compared to her forty seven.

  • rex smith has the most beautiful voice ever

  • I'D marry Angela!

  • what did ruth lie about?

  • @ProdigyStepper She told Fredric that she was a beautiful woman when he was younger, thus, having never seen a woman as a pirate apprentice, he believed her.

  • perfect example of amazingly done counterpoint. I LOVE IT!

  • OMG I'm doing the Junior version at my school - and i play Ruth. Never realized I'm sharing a role with Angela Lansbury!

  • Lovely musical!=) Do you have any subs in file?

  • Oh....Rex Smith. He is the most beautiful man I've ever seen. :) I adore him.

  • I once had a man who looks very much like him, and is also a beautiful singer...HAHA...Why did I ever let him go?

  • Rex. I . Need. This. Video!

  • The Rumors of the Problems.

  • Yey, It's always the rumors.

  • Big praise for Angela as the only member of this cast to do a Cornish/Penzance accent.

  • yeah exacty...whats with all the americanism...? come on..

  • @TRWolf Well, if I haven't been misinformed, the Cornish pronounce their 'R's, so the orphan/often confusion wouldn't have worked if they'd all had the Cornish accent.

  • A good point! But then the pirates were noblemen, and the general was upper class, so they all spoke posh ;)

  • I was thinking your name looked very familiar, so I looked you up and I realised I'd watched all your videos last year on the US-UK language differences. I guess you're the guy to go to for all the dialect questions.

  • Ooh! Yes that's me!

  • Cheers

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • This is wonderful!
