Thanks for putting these up CrayfordDresden ;) My school is doing this play soon ") My friends all keep asking how I know all the people's lines and songs lol :)
@TheGreengurl123 Ruth (Angela Lansbury) is trying to conceal her age by being poetic and telling Frederic that her love for him is "Seventeen Summers" old.. The punchline comes at the end when Fredrick realizes that her love may be 17 years old, but the rest of her is 47.
@ProdigyStepper She told Fredric that she was a beautiful woman when he was younger, thus, having never seen a woman as a pirate apprentice, he believed her.
PIRATES OF PENZANCE will finally debut on Universal WIDESCREEN DVD on September 14th, 2010! It's available RIGHT NOW to pre-order on Amazon.com! THANK YOU, UNIVERSAL!!!!!
@TRWolf Well, if I haven't been misinformed, the Cornish pronounce their 'R's, so the orphan/often confusion wouldn't have worked if they'd all had the Cornish accent.
I was thinking your name looked very familiar, so I looked you up and I realised I'd watched all your videos last year on the US-UK language differences. I guess you're the guy to go to for all the dialect questions.
This year my school is doing this for the musical and this is my favorite piece.

A good point! But then the pirates were noblemen, and the general was upper class, so they all spoke posh ;)
