As long as you know that a Korean instructor is called a Sa Bom Nim THATS FINE! But my Sensei taught us that it is very rude(he was Japanese) to refer to him as anything other than "Sensei", and that is where my opinion comes from.

Fair enough. I just took it as something universal. Everyone that asks me who my master is would ask me who is your sensei? I just get tired of explaining to them about Sa Bom Nim. It's hard for the ignorant to grasp that knowledge.

and btw, why would sifu kick me out of his dojo. Dojo is another japanese term for studio, or training center. Again, you contradict yourself. Learn humility little boy.

@heat4yoass In retrospect pointing out that I misspoke does not matter.
If you went to Japan** and referred to the instructor as Sifu he would kick you out of his dojo**. Why? Because its disrespectful, only in America is the term Sensei so common and improperly used.
As previously mentioned, one martial artist to another, this argument stems from a disagreement we have, and not from one or the other being poorly informed.

As you say, referring to dojo when you mentioned Sifu. They don't call it a dojo but everyone understands it's a dojo just because it is universal in the language of martial arts.
It is just for something that outsiders do not understand so I reiterate. Now I know you are not an outsider, in which I believed you were. Pardon my ignorance, brother.

@TeHGoodReverend Korea's word for Sensei is Sah-bun-nim. The "nim' part is similar to the Japanese "san" or "sama."

@TeHGoodReverend Hello I'm from Argentina and we call the instructor "sensei" we dont call it "maestro" (which is the spanish word).. so not always my friend.
