With the anti routine paternity testing argument of "can hurt the children or family", the logic is: "It is unethical to allow routine paternity testing because paternity fraudsters who have committed these heinous crimes can hurt the paternity fraudsters' families. Using that logic, isn't it also true that, "it is unethical to allow rape exams and dna testing of rape suspects because exposing rapists who have committed these heinous crimes can hurt rapists' families?"
The X-wife should be in jail not Sean. This is the worst injustice of all. He should never have to pay alimony to someone who has no moral values, She is the one who has destroyed the family and the child. Without her deceit nothing would have been required of Sean, In these circumstances the worthless mother should have to support her own child or get the funds from the man who loaned her the sperm. When a person says " I do", I don't think there can be a greater declaration of trust and belief made to another person. In a marriage, the applicable definition of trust is " one committed into the care of another."
That's the truth, isn't it? You willingly put yourself in the care of another. You give them your heart and trust that they will cherish and care for it as if it were a precious treasure. I know I could be trusted that way.

It seems to me that societies evolved into being in order to manage the chaos caused by individuals. If we allowed individuals to satisfy their every whim regardless of the impact felt by others, we would surely live in chaos. Communal rules and collective agreements bring order out of the chaos. Without these rules, and the enforcement of them, it would fail to each individual to right perceived wrongs
When one breaks a societal rule, one of the remedies is to remove them from society. I fully understand that I am currently removed from society. When I first met with a lawyer about my divorce (seven years ago, I fully agreed that I owed alimony to my soon to be ex-wife. I did not fight that responsibility. In order to ensure my family would be taken care of through the transition to two homes, I first lived in a trailer with no running water.
When I realized this transition was to be permanent, I moved to a studio apartment. In all I moved six times in two years. I lived on next to nothing while working out of town to support these two homes. When I learned of my ex-wife's betrayal, I did not demand repayment of any funds. I did not argue to be released from my duties as my son's father. I did not protest child support.
All I said was that I would no longer pay Alimony. I had sacificed two years since I had moved out. That ws time I would never get back. During those two years, and the two years prior, my ex-wife lied to my children, the family courts and me. What worse lie can a women tell? At the same time, the biological father hid. If my behavior is to be punished, and their behavior ie to be rewarded, our society is not one I wish tobe part of anyway!
The words Sean writes and the voice he speaks only proves what an amazing man, father, son, HUSBAND, brother, uncle, and friend he is. I miss you Sean and am so glad I've saved the voicemails on my phone to listen to and hear your loving and kindness over and over. My mouth is still running and all the flyers are still flying way down here in NC. Hopefully somewhere someone somehow our message will get out and so will you. When that day comes...lookout!!!!!

Please forgive my ramblings! You have to understand the emptiness of this cell and coldness of the common area of Pod F-5. There is always ample time for self-doubt. I miss the touch of my wife. I miss holding her hand and feeling the smile in her eyes.
I miss the activities and the company of my children. I have had children in my life since I was 20. They really do fill your life! I miss my two grandchildren with all my heart. I know they are learning new words and discovering new things every day! I have chosen this punishment. I knew it was coming and we prepared for it. But the emptiness of jail requires that I constantly remind myself why it is worth sacrificing the company of my family and the comfort of my home.
We as human beings, must take the responsibility for our actions. The Judge said I owe my ex-wife. I disagree and am taking responsibility for that decision. The consequence of that decision is my incarceration; it is the emptiness of a cell. I remind myself that I am living with this consequence because I am directly or indirectly responsible for the lives of two sons, two stepsons, and one grandson. What happened to my youngest son should never happen to a child, ever!
Were I to give in and then one day watch one of these boys or one my friends go through this, I would never be able to forgive myself. All of this could have been avoided had certain parties owned up to their activities at the outset and taken responsibility for their own actions. That did not happen, and unfortunately, the law contains no incentives for these individuals to take responsibility, even now ten years later.
Finally, I know that my actions will have negative impact on some. I have wrestled with this since December of 2004. Whatever damages my actions may cause, I will take full responsibility. I will work to make amends and mitigate the damage. All I know is, children will have enough lies to deal with in the course of their lives. No life should begin as a lie!
And the child’s biological father and his wife, decided to protect “their family” and allow Sean to continue to support the ex-lover and the child – no matter the cost to Sean. It’s time to stop the hurt to everyone. Sean is willing to support, love, and protect this beautiful child. Everyone should have to pay the price of their own actions and not force someone else to take that burden on for you.
Not only did she hide the affair, but did not acknowledge being pregnant until Sean pointed out certain “physical changes”. If she did not know of paternity issue, why hide being pregnant? As for the hurt caused this precious child, when Sean gave the DNA evidence, her first order of business was to tell the child that Sean was “not his Daddy” and that Sean’s family “was not his family”. Is there anything crueler than that? Was that not enough “payback”?.
The point is, Sean was not given a choice. Sean’s ex-wife was not honest with him about the affair, or paternity issue of the unborn child. Maybe if she had been honest about the affair, and the baby, Sean may have decided to stay as my Dad did. If so, then I really don’t think Sean would be in prison today. But, that choice was taken away from him – as well as his freedom today.
(continued from below) The marriage did not last, and during the divorce my mother asked if she could “have” me since I was “not his biological child”. My Dad refused and ended up with custody not only of me, but my younger sister. He did not pay alimony, nor did she ever pay child support to my Dad for my sister and me.
My life started this way. My mother became pregnant and claimed not to know if my Dad was the biological father. Instead of keeping it to herself, she told my father of the affair and the possibility that I was not “his”. My father was given the opportunity to make a choice as to whether or not he wanted to be her husband, and my father. My Dad chose to stay with the marriage and me. When I was born, he had the opportunity to have us tested. He chose not to.
I watch thhis video EVERY day...it sickens me to hear Sean even say he "loved her with all his heart" and this is his pay back. Tina is the worst example of what a woman/wife is. As of today, Sean has been in the North Central Regional Jail for 7 days. Due to overcrowding, he is actually sleeping on the floor. This doesnt sounds right to me. I think the State of WV has worse people to be dealing with then Sean Keefe.

The devil is in the details...A LOT of details have been left out to make this case even MORE absurd...seem as if Gold has 2 children at or around the same age...so in my opionion...it seems as this man (?) who had a wife at home pregnant found it acceptable to carry on with his employee and chance the possibilty to create another life should step up to his part of this responsibilty.

I am Sean's sister and I am starting to think that maybe Judge Dempster is upset that my brother had the gaul to go to the circuit court to appeal the lower courts ruling and HE WON IN THE CIRCIUT COURT. It is only in family court that he can't seem to get the judges to use there common sense.

There are a few facts that you need to know about this case! This has been going on for 6yrs now his ex wife wants him to pay her $1700.00 a month on top of child Support. The first time they put him in Jail in order to be released he had to write a check for $1700.00. Now Judge Dempster has sentence him to 6 months in PRISON not Jail in order for him to be Released he has to sign over a check in the amount of $26,000.00 and then for the next 7 yrs will have to pay her $1700.00 a month!
I understand how he feels. I never went to jail but I came home from work to another man living in my house, I learned that my former wife of 11 years had been planning our divorce for 2 years. I guess the point is to the courts it does not matter, men lose that is it. That should change, I am not saying the right thing should not be done, but if a woman cheats or just wants out she should not get everything. If the man cheats, he gets what he gets. Marriage is pointless because divorce is so easy. This shows that Judg Dempster the "Law Master" should have terminated the spousal support. DNA has proved the adultry and misconduct. Please remember this Wood County WV. When it is time for this idiot to be reelected . Also makes you wonder ,is there any oversight for Family Court.

Sean has had a DNA test. His littlest one is his in heart, and he doesn't want that to change. He says in there that he told he would continue to pay child support faithfully and he has. He loves that little boy just like he was biologically his. However, her lies and deceit broke their marriage and he should NOT have to pay her alimony. The fact that she had an affair & let Sean think the child was his notwithstanding, what kind of self-respecting person could continue w/this lie & use her child to defraud this man of money to which she is not entitled? Even if she believed the child was Sean's, she knows now that he is not. Yet he is still willing to pay child support. That tells me who is the decent person and who is NOT. If she had any case at all to say that this was fair, she'd be posting her side.
I *completely* agree. It definitely *should* have bearing, but the judge disagrees. We are praying it can be overturned though and that Sean can make a difference, not just for himself, but for many other people that have had to deal with fraud in these kinds of cases. The alimony case has EVERYTHING to do with the paternity case. If she had not chosen to have an affair none of this would have happened. If she didn't love him then she should have gotten out but she dishonored the marriage by sleeping with her lover. She is an adult and is capable of supporting herself but it is easier for her to have "fun" on his dime.

Motoxxxin 17, The alimony case is considered a completely separate case from the child support case and the DNA test has no bearing here on the alimony case. I think Sean says in the video that the judge told him that neither of them knew at the time that his little boy was not biologically his and Sean, "I didn't sleep with him!" She had to have known it was a possibility. :( They won't consider that though.

Unbelievable that 38 states do not have paternity fraud laws in place. How can we, as a nation, proclaim to have the best judicial system if our states knowingly award fraudulent activities. Again, appalling injustice makes the innocent the victim.
1. The ex-wife should return all the money Sean had been defrauded into spending for the child that is not biologically his.
2. Also, Sean is the one who should receive, not give, alimony from the divorce. The ex-wife's.
3. The ex-wife must immediately be arrested under the charge of fraud, and be properly held responsible for the felony.
We must remember that the most effective way to destroy justice is endorsing injustice.

I lived on next to nothing while working out of town to support these two homes. When I learned of my ex-wife's betrayal, I did not demand repayment of any funds. During those two years, and the two years prior, my ex-wife lied to my children, the family courts and me. What worse lie can a women tell? At the same time, the biological father hid. The consequence of that decision is my incarceration; it is the emptiness of a cell. Were I to give in and then one day watch one of these boys or one my friends go through this, I would never be able to forgive myself. All of this could have been avoided had certain parties owned up to their activities at the outset and taken responsibility for their own actions. That did not happen, and unfortunately, the law contains no incentives for these individuals to take responsibility, even now ten years later.

Not only did she hide the affair, but did not acknowledge being pregnant until Sean pointed out certain “physical changes”. If she did not know of paternity issue, why hide being pregnant? As for the hurt caused this precious child, when Sean gave the DNA evidence, her first order of business was to tell the child that Sean was “not his Daddy” and that Sean’s family “was not his family”. Is there anything crueler than that? Was that not enough “payback”?.

The point is, Sean was not given a choice. Sean’s ex-wife was not honest with him about the affair, or paternity issue of the unborn child. Maybe if she had been honest about the affair, and the baby, Sean may have decided to stay as my Dad did. If so, then I really don’t think Sean would be in prison today. But, that choice was taken away from him – as well as his freedom today.

My life started this way. My mother became pregnant and claimed not to know if my Dad was the biological father. Instead of keeping it to herself, she told my father of the affair and the possibility that I was not “his”. My father was given the opportunity to make a choice as to whether or not he wanted to be her husband, and my father. My Dad chose to stay with the marriage and me. When I was born, he had the opportunity to have us tested. He chose not to.

There are a few facts that you need to know about this case! This has been going on for 6yrs now his ex wife wants him to pay her $1700.00 a month on top of child Support. The first time they put him in Jail in order to be released he had to write a check for $1700.00. Now Judge Dempster has sentence him to 6 months in PRISON not Jail in order for him to be Released he has to sign over a check in the amount of $26,000.00 and then for the next 7 yrs will have to pay her $1700.00 a month!

Sean has had a DNA test. His littlest one is his in heart, and he doesn't want that to change. He says in there that he told he would continue to pay child support faithfully and he has. He loves that little boy just like he was biologically his. However, her lies and deceit broke their marriage and he should NOT have to pay her alimony. I *completely* agree. It definitely *should* have bearing, but the judge disagrees. We are praying it can be overturned though and that Sean can make a difference, not just for himself, but for many other people that have had to deal with fraud in these kinds of cases. The alimony case has EVERYTHING to do with the paternity case. If she had not chosen to have an affair none of this would have happened. If she didn't love him then she should have gotten out but she dishonored the marriage by sleeping with her lover. She broke the contract so why should Sean have to send her a monthly stipend for her dishonesty and her lack of integrity. She is an adult and is capable of supporting herself but it is easier for her to have "fun" on his dime.

Motoxxxin 17, The alimony case is considered a completely separate case from the child support case and the DNA test has no bearing here on the alimony case. I think Sean says in the video that the judge told him that neither of them knew at the time that his little boy was not biologically his and Sean, "I didn't sleep with him!" She had to have known it was a possibility. :( They won't consider that though.

Unbelievable that 38 states do not have paternity fraud laws in place. How can we, as a nation, proclaim to have the best judicial system if our states knowingly award fraudulent activities. I sure hope this goes viral and the responsible parties, including the asinine judge that defied a circuit court order, are publicly embarrassed to the point that they lose at least as much as Sean.
Everyone, contact your legislators to address these issues. Really, the laws in 38 states are that archaic?

Great job Sean and you are exactly right about our criminal justice system. We were witness to the love that he had for his wife and the kind of betrayal that she imposed on him is so unfair. Sean should not be punished because he stood up for the child he fell in love with but vowed to not pay her for her extra marital affair. Come on everybody, if you believe in the sanctity of marriage and a true and just system, contact your legislature and help support Sean. You're a hell of a man!
