Strange. My system is phenom ii x6 1090T, 4 x 4gig ram corsair 1600Mhz CL9, MSI 890FX GD65, cooler Scithe mugen 2 rev. B. Temps on stock clocks are 28-30 in iddle and 45 under load. I raised multiplier to 20 and made some test with CPU vcore. Procesor is unstable from 1.41 to 1.48 Vcore. on 1.4825 it is stable but after few hours in game I had blue screen few times. I tried set multiplier to 13 and FSB to 300 with Vcore 1.5. Blue screen poped after 1 hour in Battlefield 3. Any tips?
OKAY, BIG RED FLAG!!!! Why would you use the Asus Crosshair IV Formula when, BOTH the MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 AMD 890FX ATX Motherboard & the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 AMD 990FX are BOTH superior motherboards, the MSI Motherboard's got 5 (five) PCI Express 2.0 x16 expansion slots, & the Gigabyte motherboard has 6 (six) PCI Express 2.0 x16 & both have an additional Classic PCI expansion slot. & Here's why the AMD Phenom II x6 is better then the Core i7-980X & Core i7-990X...Core i7's cost $1000+ ALONE
You can overclock to 3.6ghz with stock cooler and it will hold @ 51 degrees during stress test , any higher requires uprated cooling or temp will go uncomfortably high!!
@tactrdfreak All I can tell you is that if you really want to overclock, you have to play with more than just multipliers and clock frequencies. When you take the to factors above and adjust voltages, pretty soon you'll find a combo that gets the results that you want. I almost drove my wife insane to find the combo and I'm not going to give it away. I do custom builds for friends, no giving up secrets, I'd lose money.
@Containforum Actually, I'm pretty sure it's by only a few dbs' If you know what fans to buy and how to route your flow, you can make them run with the same volume. You still have to use fans for the radiator, don't you?
@tactrdfreak Just keep in mind, not all systems or processors (even if its the same model) will react the same. there are minuet differences. Also things like the air pressure, room temp and relative humidity play a part in it. Some psu's also don't deliver as "clean power" as others that can make a huge difference. Not to mention some motherboards are more competent at overclocking than others.
@DSOXBLADE let me guess you're a holier than thou adolescent who cant spell masturbate? Proof read your flames so you don't look like a total jackass. Jackass!

@BikeStand122 there isnt a standard for this, however for fan grab a corsair h50/70, scythe mugen 2 or noctua d14 PSU depends on your other components
Also remember my board actually increases Vcore when in load. So the Vcore I would use is probably going to be lower than what you would use. Coupled by the fact that I'm using liquid cooling.
i have the 1100T i can't get anything above stock, it gives me bsod "uncorrectable hardware failure". i am at 3.7ghz cpu ratio at 18.5 cpu bus speed at 200, 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 at 9-9-9-24 at 1600mhz.

no i have a noctua nh-d14... i got it stable at 3.8ghz by upping vcore to 1.46, i don't think that's normal, but cpuz says vcore is at 1.3-1.39, vcore seems to go down when at load... currently running prime95 hopefully it's stable... Do you think it will be ok to try to get it to 4ghz? and should i keep it like that
I think i am seeing a drop because i am using an extension for the cpu power connector. So do you think it would be safe to up vcore to 1.5? and do you keep it like that or turn it off when not doing anything heavy
Vdroop is due to your motherboard. It reduces voltage to stabalize current. You need to up the voltage to about 1.5V it should be fine as long as temps are fine. Just don't exceed 1.55V
@Fatpandas2014 I have my 1090T OC to 4.1 GHz.@ 1.45V. For some reason tho, im unable to get it satable at anything above 4.1Ghz :(. i really want to hit 4.5Ghz...
