  • Because there are no additional cores to unlock dude. Core unlocker is for processors like the 960T that have cores inactivated by default i.e it's sold as quad core but quite a few unlock to 5 or even 6 cores

  • why didnt you press 4 for core unlocker ?????

  • Porn music in video!

  • Strange. My system is phenom ii x6 1090T, 4 x 4gig ram corsair 1600Mhz CL9, MSI 890FX GD65, cooler Scithe mugen 2 rev. B. Temps on stock clocks are 28-30 in iddle and 45 under load. I raised multiplier to 20 and made some test with CPU vcore. Procesor is unstable from 1.41 to 1.48 Vcore. on 1.4825 it is stable but after few hours in game I had blue screen few times. I tried set multiplier to 13 and FSB to 300 with Vcore 1.5. Blue screen poped after 1 hour in Battlefield 3. Any tips?

  • How do you get your boot screen to load so fast?

I have crosshair IV and it takes longer.

  • @pgpg1 you need a batter ssd hard drive

  • @MrPuckpunk I have a 120gb SSD, it boots up pretty fast but this seemed faster

But I can't overclock mine past 4.0 GHz

  • @pgpg1

The video has been edited to make it faster.

  • My I ask why you put your GPU on the third PCI-E slot? Is there any advantage?

  • mobo?

  • OKAY, BIG RED FLAG!!!! Why would you use the Asus Crosshair IV Formula when, BOTH the MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 AMD 890FX ATX Motherboard & the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 AMD 990FX are BOTH superior motherboards, the MSI Motherboard's got 5 (five) PCI Express 2.0 x16 expansion slots, & the Gigabyte motherboard has 6 (six) PCI Express 2.0 x16 & both have an additional Classic PCI expansion slot. & Here's why the AMD Phenom II x6 is better then the Core i7-980X & Core i7-990X...Core i7's cost $1000+ ALONE

  • @IMaDEM0N because no gamer needs 5 or 6 PCI express x16 slots....

  • mine crash at 4090mhz. same build.

  • That's music from sonic CD

  • You can overclock to 3.6ghz with stock cooler and it will hold @ 51 degrees during stress test , any higher requires uprated cooling or temp will go uncomfortably high!!

  • hey how much was your build, im trying to make the same one with gtx550it and formula v

  • kind of failed when there was no Prime95 runs.

Anyways, mine is 4.2Ghz 24 hr stable.

If your cpu is stable @ 1.44v on the cpu core, thats a pretty good chip.

  • @tactrdfreak All I can tell you is that if you really want to overclock, you have to play with more than just multipliers and clock frequencies. When you take the to factors above and adjust voltages, pretty soon you'll find a combo that gets the results that you want. I almost drove my wife insane to find the combo and I'm not going to give it away. I do custom builds for friends, no giving up secrets, I'd lose money.

  • @tactrdfreak wow, arent you really cool.

  • You had to liquid cool to reach 4.2Ghz? 21x multiplier? Dude, I'm doing 4.2Ghz on air and a 17x multiplier. Where did you go wrong?

  • @tactrdfreak

Your system is much louder than mine.

  • @Containforum Actually, I'm pretty sure it's by only a few dbs' If you know what fans to buy and how to route your flow, you can make them run with the same volume. You still have to use fans for the radiator, don't you?

  • @Containforum my system is silent on air at 4GHz.. im running a Noctua NH-D14

  • @tactrdfreak what the hell did u do to get it to 4.2ghz...17x?

  • @tactrdfreak Just keep in mind, not all systems or processors (even if its the same model) will react the same. there are minuet differences. Also things like the air pressure, room temp and relative humidity play a part in it. Some psu's also don't deliver as "clean power" as others that can make a huge difference. Not to mention some motherboards are more competent at overclocking than others.

  • Let me guess you master-bait to cartoons or something like that. Your a weed smoking dip-shit!!!

  • @DSOXBLADE

Me? Definately not. And I've never touched drugs in my life.

  • @DSOXBLADE let me guess you're a holier than thou adolescent who cant spell masturbate? Proof read your flames so you don't look like a total jackass. Jackass!

  • @DefaultUserName00 Well I fucked that up a little bit there but at least I'm not a Nigger Jew like you are.

  • @DSOXBLADE Racism? Nice, stay classy. And try not be such a fuckup. :/

  • @DSOXBLADE says the guy who has animals lick peanut butter off his tiny dong

  • @bxbombers007 Are you his gay brother? Damn you nasty.

  • LOLZ the official video is made in someone's bedroom.

  • @TIsyraf96

Who says it needs to be from AMD? Haha ;)

  • @Containforum hahaha.I just assumed because it said "official" I thought it came from AMD.But then again why would AMD want to overclock their own processor.LOLZ.

  • highly unofficial...

  • ur trippin me out man

  • what kind of memory are you using?

  • Holy crap! Firewire!

  • what fans and psu do i need for this?

  • @BikeStand122 there isnt a standard for this, however for fan grab a corsair h50/70, scythe mugen 2 or noctua d14 PSU depends on your other components

  • @danthemanzizzle

Also remember my board actually increases Vcore when in load. So the Vcore I would use is probably going to be lower than what you would use. Coupled by the fact that I'm using liquid cooling.

  • ran memtest, diskchk, and everything else... checks out, i just can't get it stable above stock speed

  • i have the 1100T i can't get anything above stock, it gives me bsod "uncorrectable hardware failure". i am at 3.7ghz cpu ratio at 18.5 cpu bus speed at 200, 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 at 9-9-9-24 at 1600mhz.

vcore was at 1.4v, ram at 1.65v, my mobo is asus m4a87td evo.... please help

  • @Fatpandas2014

Are you running on stock cooler?

  • @Containforum

no i have a noctua nh-d14... i got it stable at 3.8ghz by upping vcore to 1.46, i don't think that's normal, but cpuz says vcore is at 1.3-1.39, vcore seems to go down when at load... currently running prime95 hopefully it's stable... Do you think it will be ok to try to get it to 4ghz? and should i keep it like that

  • @Fatpandas2014

Use HWmonitor. And does the voltage report at 1.46V at idle? if it does then your board has Vdroop problems.

Up the Vcore to 1.5V then try 4GHz.

  • @Containforum

At idle, vcore in cpuz read 1.429-1.419

I think i am seeing a drop because i am using an extension for the cpu power connector. So do you think it would be safe to up vcore to 1.5? and do you keep it like that or turn it off when not doing anything heavy

  • @Fatpandas2014

Vdroop is due to your motherboard. It reduces voltage to stabalize current. You need to up the voltage to about 1.5V it should be fine as long as temps are fine. Just don't exceed 1.55V

  • @Containforum

thanks man, you got one more subscriber

  • @Fatpandas2014 I have my 1090T OC to 4.1 GHz.@ 1.45V. For some reason tho, im unable to get it satable at anything above 4.1Ghz :(. i really want to hit 4.5Ghz...

  • @danthemanzizzle

Run prime 95 in blend mode. That's the real stability test.

  • Would I be able to do this with a custom Zalman CX10 extreme cooler?

  • That means 6x 4.2 GHZ? oO

Wow, that is 24 GHZ, thats really nice :D

  • @EvilHorrordude

6 cores running at 4.2GHz does not make 24GHz. When dealing with frequencies they do not add up.

=) Thanks for the comment though. Much appreciated.

  • @Containforum

    Oh okay, thanks :P

I'm pretty new to this^.^ But a great vid anyway =)

  • @Containforum WOW. IF i saw a computer running at 24Ghz, i would Jizz in my pants.

  • Im only at 3.65 GHz since I cant for some reason go higher it just gets unstable.

    - Chris

  • @HaxJaxs

What cooler are you using? Did you increase Vcore?

  • I have 4.5ghz yes man

  • i am planning on getting this chip along with a crosshair iv formula board, i have never overclocked before can you tell me the numbers to input to get a completely stable overclock @ 4GHZ? also would the corsair a70 be sufficient to cool this chip @ 4GHZ? Thanks.

  • @braderzbs heard that many of the asus crosshair 4 formula motherboards have a overheating issue with the northbridge chip cooler not being seated properly. from what i hear its not too dificult to fix but for an expensive board like that it should work 100% out the box without issues like that.

  • @leezaal

This was true in the first week of these boards shipping. By the second week Asus fixed the issue. No need to worry about it.

  • @Containforum thanks good to know

  • CPU-Z shows cpu name: ... 1095T ... how's that, I mean there are only 1090t and 1100t

  • How much ram did you use? and are you cooling that too?

  • is it the same if i dont to OC the rams?

  • 7084 gie39 suxs

  • 4,2Ghz are Stable but 5.0ghz are unstable ;)

  • FIREWIRE!!!! HOLY CRAP! FIREWIRE!!

  • i dont understand what the hell happend after 5:40 ???

  • @FantasyX3I

It's just some messing around. :P Nothing significant.

  • @Containforum LOL xD ^^

  • getting the same thing but with kingston hyperX 1600mhz 4gb ram and the CNPS10x cooler, cant wait to overclock that and its a nice upgrade from my E8400 now lol

  • 1055t avrage oc 3800-3950Mhz

    1090t avrage oc 3900-4100Mhz

4.2-4.3Ghz to make it satable is a pain in the ass cuz not every chip is the same...and same goes for the motherboard...

  • my friend has a Noctua D12 with dual Fans. He overclocked to 4 GHz. Temps are at idle 19° C and load 38°C MAX.

  • <3 the cable management :)

  • Great video video man keep it up ;) !!

  • Im think im getting that cpu+mobo for my next build. Maybe you could help me out a little with the overclocking!

  • Very nice video.

  • my 1090t sittin in a coolermaster haf 912 with no case fans just the processor liquid cooler.. processor little over 3.2ghz stock (3223.34mhz according to easytune6) and 28~32°C idle

  • @PiMpStAnLeY aww i have coolermaster haf 932. this thing is beast at cooling.

  • Will it make a difference if I just change the CPU, DRAM voltage and multiplayer without changing HT and CPU/NB ? voltage BTW Why to change these ?

  • @luckyspoxman

I overclocked the CPU/NB aswell. So if you don't change multiplier for CPU/NB then you don't need to increas it's voltage.

  • Uh, how is booting into windows testing stability. Testing stability means you run a stress test. So obviously we really DO NOT know if his overclock was even stable.

  • @6overclockster9

The video never said booting into windows was stability testing. It said "Booting into windows and testing stability. That means testing stability after it has booted. And in a video? I'm sure no one wants to watch Prime 95 or Linpack running for 12 + hours. It is most definately stable.

  • @Containforum Maybe you should rewatch your video yourself. And someone who is able to stabilize an overclock, which makes a different from your type of overclock, would include a glimpse of a passed stress test. Claiming stability is one thing but showing proof is another. Maybe you should go into video editing as a hobby rather than overclocking :)

  • @6overclockster9

If you really want proof then head on over to OCN. The whole point of this video isn't to show off an overclock, but to show an idea of how to overclock. The steps included. It was inspired by some of the videos which had come from toms hardware a while ago.

Read video description aswell next time. And cut people some slack. Editing videos is time consuming, they won't always include everything to satisfy every audience. Hence I didn't see a need to include proof.

  • @Containforum

you could clip out the test so you have the start and 10 last sec or something :)

1 min edit it's gonna take to clip it out :)

  • @ woxerlin

Yes there is a need to overclock. I have the 1055t sitting @ 3.89ghz on air and it helps out a heap in games. Big difference in games from the stock of 2.8ghz. About an extra 10-15 frames a second.

  • ok, thanks for the help!!

  • 1600mhz ram?? i thought the crosshair 4 could only go up to 1333mhz.

  • @jacob6102

Crosshair IV can go upto 2000MHz. The only question is if your CPU can. With the right tweaking you can get some memory to go 2000MHz with Thuban.

  • I have the same motherboard and processor. Except I am using the corsair h70 because I am planning on overclocking for flight simulator. Could I just enter the same settings as you and be ok? Also, what ram are you using?

  • @jacob6102

You can try the same settings though it may or may not work. If it does then all good. If not then you should tweak it yourself.

I'm using 4GB (2X2GB) G Skill Trident. You can find a video of it on my channel.

  • Mmm sounds like nice but what about temperature in your room? here is pretty hot around 30+ sometimes 28- ambient so... let me see cause I am running a very nice rig

  • @Kuroicam

Right now my ambient temps are around 25-30C.

  • Comment removed

  • such a freak duck !!

but i also gonna buy a 1090t , it was useful for me

    awesome video men

  • Ok dude les see temperatures and we can talk.....

  • @Kuroicam

    17 C idle and 40C Max load.

  • i have a 1090T and there is no need for an OC

  • also have that board :)

  • @TheWindowsHack

there is no need to even have 6 cores this days:P Unless u wanna unzip programs fast with an SSD HD:P

  • @Containforum great vid :D

    very creative :)

  • @thespartenkid

    Thank you. :)

    Remember to subscribe.

  • @Containforum i have :)

  • very helpfull vid thnx!!!

  • Rubber Ducky Made me *&^% myself :).... THUMBS up man.. THUMBS UP!

  • @saris42

    Thank you very much sir.

  • im bryan badundy baaaaa

  • @R3AP3R664

    Bryan?

  • Im confused ... why would you buy a x6 core when the new x8 core will be released soon, for the same kind of price !!!!

im using 2 x4 Phenom II @ 3.6ghz on one motherboard so im waiting for the x8 cores so i have 16 effectively :D

  • @R3AP3R664

8 core bulldozer chips are coming next year.

And when they come I'll purchase them too.

  • @Containforum

    quick reply... lol

well im hearing the 8 core chip is coming sometime this year :D

some would say i dont need it, but damn 16 cores is enough to control a air 'O' plane loooool

    Nice vid by the way'

  • @R3AP3R664 how u using two amd cpu?

  • @danthaman7777 special motherboard mate ... only in the UK .. lol

  • @R3AP3R664 lol, no really r u BSing me :P

  • @danthaman7777

Uk motherboard ... like i said its a dual socket MB for AMD phenom II moddifed

  • What do you figure is the best stable speed on the Stock Cooler?...

  • @mrjamesb56

I havn't attempted Ocing on the stock cooler. I would guess 3.4-3.6GHZ as you could OC to these on stock volts.
