I'm so sad that I missed this in Holland.

Now this is some real music!

  • THIS CUT PLAYED BY GEORGE IS FABULOUS.......THANKS

  • One person here isn't sweating like Benson... :/

  • I love how at 1:41, after the pitch bend, even GB does a "damn, that was nice!" head shake to himself... too cool!

  • @upchilled What's so unusual there is that a straight ahead jazz player bends at all. Bending is removed from the lexicon of traditional jazz guitar. (Or, at least bending like Benson does...)

  • whoever disliked this is must be a justin bieber faggot

I've been on this concert in Rotterdam (for the first time on GB live) - and woow, it was incredible !!

When he started the first notes of Affirmation, my goodness - the whole crowd (me inclusive of course ;) went completely mad - that was the greatest experience in ma life !

    GB 4 EVVA :)

  • You just have to agree with every comment on this video. Each comment says it EXACTLY like it is. This guy is just fantastic. The 'Breezin' album is with out a doubt George's all-time best!

  • outstanding!

  • This is one of the greatest guitarist of all time all hail King George Benson. Just to see this video is a sheer delight.

  • great.

  • Excellent....But exist an official DVD of this concert ???? In Italy not exist...

  • No, I recorded the Dutch television broadcast of the festival.

  • @TheCaravanBand Maybe you should take it on rapidshare or somethink :)

  • THE Greatest ...

  • niceee so this is where counting stars derived from

  • I was there, too. The real problem was being in the AHOY sauna that is the North Sea Rotterdam. This aside, just another example that Benson is the baaaadest, when he wants to be...

  • so thats why,, they are all experiencing hyperhydramios.. hehehe... LOLZ

  • Guitar Genius !

  • I was there

  • i don't like jazz but I LOVE THIS!!!

  • Bet the reason is because of what is called 'soul music" . Can't be taught has to be earned. It's not academically based.

  • North Sea Jazz 2008!

I was there, within the first few rows of the audience.

The accoustics were really bad though, mainly because of the drummer playing way too hard and loud.

He really doesn't fit the band of George Benson, he's got way too less feel in his playing.

  • Oscar Seaton no feel????????????????????????????????? I have heard it all and can die now. The man is the grooviest drummer of the last 20 years! He's absolutely brilliant and is the best drummer Benson had in a live setting for as long as I can remember. It's a matter of taste I guess, but Oscar in my book is in the same category as Vinnie, JR, Jeff and Gadd. A true groove God.

  • I'm not saying he's not a good drummer. The thing I'm saying is: I was there, and ALL I could here was the drums! some drummer whacking his instrument from beginning to end. The freaking drums were way too loud.. it's a shame we weren't able to hear George Benson well because of that.

Other than that, yeah Oscar Seaton's got groove. -__-

  • its not the drummer's fault that he is being too loud.. blame the sound technician whos in charge of the sound mixing.

  • The Michael Jordan of the jazz guitar

  • @Ouellette1978 He is a machine

  • @Ouellette1978 there`s no doubt!

  • i love how the feel changes at 3:38

    so delicious

  • The bass player, mouth organ, tambourine and band director is Stanley banks who has been with George Benson for over 30 years. Stanley is the big guy wearing glasses.

  • Sadaaaaaap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!

  • ANIMAL.!

  • Oscar is best!!!

  • Oscar is my uncel:)

  • this is the drummer of the future wow the groove

  • I was here! Great live but strangely enough even better on video. Probably has something to do with the immense hall with poor acoustics...

Keep playing George (and go easy on the singing ;-)

  • I was there too. I really enjoy it now but i left the hall after a few song because of the bad sound quality...

  • The Drummer is Oscar Seaton..Toured with Lionel Ritchie, and others.

  • The drummer is absolutely responsible for the updated feel of this classic tune. I hear why he is in the band.Of course Gb wakes some folks up to the genius of the real innovators in jazz. he is one of them. Feel ,tone, and usually changing phrasing/ideas.He is a major innovator on the axe.

  • It sounds good in the video, it sure does. But it was really crappy (the accoustics) live.

  • Always a class act. Thanks for the post.

  • Just when I start listening to a new guitar player, I see a new Benson video that just brings me back to him. He's THE MAN!!! ALWAYS!

  • george gets better with age
