This movie was always on at xmas time , and when i was younger and VHS players came out i actually wrote to the BBC and asked if they could air it one xmas, so i could record it on my VHS player lol. Things we do when we are kids lol.
Great film, one of my all time fav classics. Obviously i now own it on DVD.
love this film.of all the repeat films they show on itv,bbc ,etc why dont they show this one.i was 8 when i saw it at the cinema at dudley west midlands and never forgot it, lol
Interesting, the comments from those who spent a lot to buy (or can't find) the DVD. Amazon released a small batch in 2003 and I picked one up then brand new for just £12!
Lynne was so beautiful! At frame 0:55 when she smiles at the boy stealing the keys, you can see just how sweet and radiant she was. I understand she sadly passed away at age 39 from an alcohol-related illness.
I want to see this again but we can't get it in Australia. I wish they would put it on region4 dvd. I saw it on tv when I was a kid and always remembered it!
Hey im a teenager of 17 nd i grew up wif this film...its wicked...i keep this film alive by watchin it wif my friends lmao beens tht they dnt no it...nd now they like it as much...mayb thts wat u shud do!
Got this on DVD, what an amazing film, not many teenagers would say that as old films are not 'cool'. But it is truley wonderful, I watched it yesterday and now I want to watch again!

I saw this film as a girl and absolutely fell in love with it.
I was thrilled to get it when they released it on DVD a year or two ago but I notice that Amazon now shows it as unavailable. So there ARE copies out there.
I think I'll have to dig mine out tonight after seeing this refresher!
i saw it in about 1977/78 at primary school when i was about 8 or 9 and completly was drawn into it. it was based on a book called the ghosts by antonia frasier. i hve bought it abou 5 years ago on dvd, never give up you will find it somewhere. it is magis. at last at last.........

I have fond memories of this too. Summer holidays; it was often shown on Anglia TV.
I had no idea it was available. I must find a copy, what a treat!
