Great for a person who plays for 11 months. Just a few pointers: don't speed up! This is chopin. Try to slow down in 6th-bar-like parts, and when there's a trill. Don't rush. Of course play fast when you need to. Another thing is in the parts which are like 1:20, you need to play with some more force - there's a forte. Overall you play great. Play with emotions and you don't have to play it the way I just told you. Good Luck with the piano :)
this is wonderful for someone who's been playing for 11 months. it sounds great...
but i would like to bring to your attention that the left hand is the accompaniment and the right hand is the melody. Make sure you sustain and lead through the melody... that's one of the biggest difficulties with chopin; that balance between left and right hand... I'm sure you've come to understand how intricate and subtle chopin is; your sound should be the same.
Good point, agreed. I've been practicing this song for long, even though now both hands are proficient, still I find it hard to improve. Maybe I'll try more what you recommended.
Just let go of the pedal where it says to! the con. Ped. on the second line of the 1st page means that you continue to let up on the pedal on each "low" note. Great Job though! :)
However, don't rush. Play a bit slower and definitely softer (it's dolce... p pp ppp...) Also, you in the last ornament you repeated the figure before rallent. e smorz. one time too little (not that anyone will actually notice).
i'm playing this song too and i only got it like 7 or 8 months ago! and i have to play it in a recital really soon and i'm really nervous! the only thing i have to say is that you watch your speeds. it's good to slow down and speed up a bit but i think you've made it a bit to drastic but other than that i think you're awesome!
Very impressive!!! Incredible progress in that short amount of time. You have a touch that's easily recognizable and should serve you well in your playing. Keep up the great work. :)
another adult learner! I started playing 11 months ago, and the first song I tackled was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, 3rd movement. Now I am trying some slower stuff. Good luck to you, I just finished this piece!
...it's never late..ain't it? This is some coincidence...since I'm studying the Moonlight Sonata as well..I think I'll upload it in 4/5 weeks...good luck to you..
yundi li is crap. and i also agree dont staccato the left hand so much, the bass and chords should smoothly go into eachother, the ending part with the build up im not sure what to call it before the fast little part, you did it too fast.
i liked it, but i thought some tempo changes were ineffective. i suggest listening to Yundi Li's version of this, its my favorite. his tempo and dynamics throughout create the best feeling that i've heard from the piece. p.s.- i can almost play this!
you play beautifully! i have to agree with marisok, that last chord is supposed to linger...i've only been playing a few months and am not yet able to play with both hands...hopefully in about 8 more months i can play as well as you...keep up the good work :-)
Chopin would be happy of this performance, but there is always room for improvemnt. Try not to staccato your left hand chords and make sure your pulling the pedal out every measure. Very nicely done overall though, polish it up and i'd love to hear more from you.
Chopin managed to put some tricky little places in this Nocturne. I liked the way you did the trill at the end ... very quietly, evenly and in tempo. At the end let your hands linger a bit after the last chord instead of removing them from the keyboard as though it were hot. :-) When you hit a wrong note, don't get mad with yourself (or your piano) because if you do, you'll play faster and louder than you would normally.
I think it`s great! You did a very good job. After I heard your interpretation I decided to learn this Nocturne, too. Maybe I will upload my interpretation in the next weeks...influenced by yours...
Reminds me of my brother... He started playing the piano 2 years ago, wanted to play rachmaninov's op3 prelude... and so he did after only 10 months... quite impressive :) I played the piano for 19 years, so I can play anything I want, but my bro he just keeps amazing me :) Now he's working on a beethoven sonata (can't recall which one though)
Very good... i play a little bit more than one year but the only classical sound that i can play perfect is the moonlight sonata and this is not so difficult! So please make more videos from you!
thanx a lot, but it doesn't matter...today it's almost 2 years and a half that I've been playing piano and, despite the fact I'm "old" for it, after such a short time I can play the ballade n. 1, the scherzo n.1 and the fantaisie impromptu...I've got friends that began 10 years ago and can't play what I do play...so..I'm satisfied with it anyway. Comments like yours help me to keep on playing every day with renewed anthusiasm...thanx again...do you play? Bye..
I started learning to play the piano in August and I've been amazed at my progress after just 3 months. Wouldn't have thought it possible. Hence, I can believe your story. Your progress is nothing short of phenonmenon. Only wish I can be as good cometh the 11th month. Don't let the negative comments from others discourage you. What really matters is that you experience true and sublime joy when playing. Keep it up! Best wishes.
Good job, i can't believe you were playing the piano for 11 months and play a Chopin's nocturne!
The overall dynamic & tempo was beautiful. You just need play your left hand a little more softer on this piece specially to give it a more dreamy kind of sound as a nocturne was meant to be! other than that, flawless. BTW what are you playing now ? looking forward for you next recording!
Thanx a lot!! By the way 14 months have passed since I recorded it and now and I'm playing the Ballade n. 1 and the Etude n. 12 Op. 10 by Chopin. I'd like to upload the ballade recording within 2 months. Thanx again.
