Not only for that reason, Thermopylae was a very tight battleground and the Spartans used the Phalanx formation which made it impossible for the Persians to break through. And the Persians were mostly trained for riding horses and archery, But they also had very good infantry.

The spartans technically killed around 600,000 however yes. They were trained, with armor and brute skill. The persians weren't they wore NO armor, and had very light weapontry, so that is why the spartans lasted so long. The spartans technically killed around 600,000 however yes. They were trained, with armor and brute skill. The persians weren't they wore NO armor, and had very light weapontry, so that is why the spartans lasted so long. To be honest, I think the spartans won, because they killed more (:, so you can't tell me they lost. They are heroes, nevertheless
