You do realize that "Stars and Bars" generally refers to the Confederate flag? I think it was very appropriate for BofA to pull the flags. After all, they don't pay any US taxes, they get bailed out by your tax dollars, they get "tax benefits" instead of paying taxes, they put their money into foreign tax havens to avoid paying their share of the money that could go to essential public services. I have been to to many funerals of American Heros.. Most if not all companies have no problem with desplaying the American Flag, or lowerring theres to half staff on a day of morning for a local hero I will never do business with Bank Of America ever again...... I hated Bank of America two months after I opened an account with them. Since I am deployed to Iraq again they don't let me do anything other the phone. I can't close the account, transfer money etc. After what they did in NC I completely lost respect for them and they call themselves bank of AMERICA? You can't do anything on the phone with them from Iraq because they are a reputable company. If you could do things on the phone. Some other soldier that gets your identifying info can say he's you & clean out your bank acct. The fault that you can't bank is not due to Bank of America. It's due to the fact that you're on the other side of the World . You chose to go there. Being there has problems associated with it. If you didn't set things up right before you left, it's your own fault.

I'm a Security manager for an internationally operating company. Putting into perspective what I might have to do if faced with the same situation. An expression of Nationalism does not overide a company's right to maintain their property. A reasonable bank manager would have pulled the flags, and then when she returned asked that she come inside and they call their corporate structure to try to work something out. I'm not disputing that she was unreasonable but it looks like neither was she.

I think it was very appropriate for BofA to pull the flags. After all, they don't pay any US taxes, they get bailed out by your tax dollars, they get "tax benefits" instead of paying taxes, they put their money into foreign tax havens to avoid paying their share of the money that could go to essential public services. The flag is the symbol of the country and if you or someone else can't see that then so be it. I guess it takes something tragic to happen to really realize how blessed you really are and for me, when my brother Chris died (the one that the flags were put there for) that's what made me finally realize. you are right. the flag is a symbol of our country. That is why the left resents how the conservative fringe wacos have hi-jacked it & converted it to their own private symbol. The right has converted our flag into a banner that is hated by all decent people world wide. It has re-made our beautiful flag into a "Don't Tread on Me" sign. As a child I was told that America stood for certain things, that the flag stood for certain things. Your taking that away makes us mad.

You guys who disagree, as in that the branch manager (Bank of America) is right and was able to do that, shame and pity on you. The "kid" who died, was my brother and he died for all of you who posted in here and everyone else who lives in America just so we can wave our flags freely and be safe and be able to say the Pledge of Allegiance. I hated Bank of America two months after I opened an account with them. Since I am deployed to Iraq again they don't let me do anything other the phone. I can't close the account, transfer money etc. After what they did in NC I completely lost respect for them and they call themselves bank of AMERICA? Going to do anything to close my account with them first thing tomorrow

You can't do anything on the phone with them from Iraq because they are a reputable company. If you could do things on the phone. Some other soldier that gets your identifying info can say he's you & clean out your bank acct. The fault that you can't bank is not due to Bank of America. It's due to the fact that you're on the other side of the World . You chose to go there. Being there has problems associated with it. If you didn't set things up right before you left, it's your own fault.

I would agree with you but I can't. They told me I can't do all those things because their reps don't know their job. 3 Weeks ago I closed my checking account with them over live online chat. Online chat not even the phone, so I have do disagree with you. My new bank SCU is amazing. International transfers, helpful support, great rates. Awesome.

How's the security with all that messing with your acct. & nobody really verifying identity? Do you feel nice & safe? wait till your bank acct losses a thousand, or two, and the bank insists that YOU PROVE that YOU DIDN'T transfer the $ out. Then takes two months to tell you that you haven't proved sufficiently that it wasn't you. The inconvenince that is imposed upon you is the same inconvenience that an imposter has to face. The ease you now have means an imposter has the same ease. Good Luck

I'm a Security manager for an internationally operating company. Putting into perspective what I might have to do if faced with the same situation. An expression of Nationalism does not overide a company's right to maintain their property. A reasonable bank manager would have pulled the flags, and then when she returned asked that she come inside and they call their corporate structure to try to work something out. I'm not disputing that she was unreasonable but it looks like neither was she.
