I am such a huge fan of Gwendolyn Brooks. I wish I could have met her in person...I feel like I know her so well - nonetheless. I teach 8th grade. I make it my business to do an author/poet study on Gwendolyn Brooks with my students. I do this because much of her works are so central to young people and their lives.
