For example, there's not fire selector anymore since COD2, shotguns are badly represented (when reloading the only fill the tube, but you can still fire them, even if there isn't a round chambered) . Guns never jam, never misfire, some scopes are wrong, and WTF, how can you run and gun with a Barrett M107 .50 caliber rifle.

But on the same note if these things were included in games it wouldn't make for a very fun one.

@bmassa4 STALKER have a more realistic approach to how the weapons are represented, in that game you have bullet physics, different ammo types, the guns wear down with use and jam, specially if they are well worn. The first COD is perhaps the most realistic of all of the series. For 2003 standards it was OK but now, 7 years laters, their standards are still the game or even lower un some aspects.

@Xerxes1688 where are you from? here in Nevada you can by a rifle in wal-mart... as a matter of fact it doesnt even have to be registered as long as you can't easily conceal it. anything with a stock and non-automatic can be bought with an I.D but it's crazy because you have to jump through a few hoops for a pistol. I personally have a 30 aut 6 sears and roebuck...it's kind of old but I love it. My dad left it to me when he passed. damn thing bruised me the first time I shot it.

Here the gun laws a pretty restrictive, you can't get a gun without license, and to get it you must pass thro a lot of red tape. Also you can't get a semi-auto rifle, with detachable magazine and bigger than .22lr without a very special license that voids the decree that forbids you to get this kind of rifles. Still, you can get any semiauto with a fixed or en-bloc mag like the M1 Garand or a SKS.

The game gave a more accurate representation than some of the AKs, but I love how in MW2 every AK isthe exact same, except a single accessory, and they all have loads of custom furniture.
