HA! What are you lot in, your 20's and 30's and arguing about who is an 80's kid? It was one thing on other videos with 20 year olds arguing with teenagers and preteens about what it is to be a 90s kid, but you guys are something else! GROW UP! You're not kids anymore!
ok i was born in 1988 im not an 80's kid im a true 90's kid and im a wrestling fan and you know you're an 80's kid if you remember watching wrestling when hulk hogan was your childhood wrestling fan bret hart was my childhood wrestling fan from my childhood in the 90's
I think it hilarious that our generations cling to these things so hard that we get defensive to younger generations that claim to like this stuff. "You were born in 98 there is no way you got to enjoy the 90s like i Did. Same with the 80s. I teach high schoolers now and I heard one saying they totally loved New Kids I'm like WHOA kid back off the 80s your weren't even a twinkle in your fathers eye yet! hahaha. This happens with the 90s babies too. I was born in 89. Mid 90s babies such as 93ers and 94ers are one thing to complain about. but I've seen many late 90s kids such as 97ers and 98ers who are just becoming teens now and it is freaking ridiculous with them claiming they remember all this stuff. At least the 93ers and 94ers could have caught some of the late 90s compared to the latter that can hardly remember even the early 2000s.
@deathball22 1993 1994 is the early 90s not mid 90s early 90s 1990-1994 mid 90s 1995-1996 late 90s 1997-1999 and I spent 7 years in the 90s born in 93 i remember a hole lot from the decade and though I remember the early 00s as well the early 00s where good too becuase they where like an aftermath to the 90s 2000- early 2004 but then in 2005 the true 00s came along and my childhood ended & died so I am not going to argu but 93 94 is early 90s & im a 90s kid & a early 00s kid im a hybrid.
I was born in 84 myself but I don't remember the majority of the stuff in this vid, so I'd probably be considered a 90's kid more so then an 80's kid.
@musiclover77able Yea baby. I was born in 1976 so that grants me entrance into that elite club as an official 80s kid. WHERES THE BEEF. I CANT BELIEVE I ATE THE WHOLE THING. TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS. MIKEY LIKES IT. IM FALLING AND I CANT GET UP.
If you were born in the 80s you are not a 80s kid. To qualify I say you would have to be born any where around the 1970s to qualify for this elite club.
@ilove1994 if u couldnt play super nintendo when it came out your a late 90's/00's kid 70's babies = 80's kids, 80's babies=90's kids sorry to break it to you, you just came out of the womb when kurt cobain died and all that on nickolodean came out, your a 90's baby.
I'm sorry I was born in '87 and I still will claim the 80's and the 90's. Even tho I was raised by the 90's I love the things that the 80's gave us. I think as long as you know the stuff and love it there is no point in arguing what makes you this or that.
Come on people its all a matter of opinion and who you talk to I was born in 1993 so I am a 90s kid 80s kids are 1975-1984 90s are 1985-1994 why in the name of the good lorad are stupid people on here getting all worked up and acting like babies just brcuase somone stated a opinion this has happened to me with the hole 90s kid nostalgia but seriousley people stop arguing at somthing so dumb and call peace from this internet war and yes IT IS A MATTER OF OPINION so dont say its not.
If I'm not 80's, then how can I remember sitting in front of the TV watching Challenger explode in 1986? Or the Lockerbie disaster in 1988, crying my eyes out in case my dad had got caught up in it? Even things like the fact I still have some of my old toys in the loft, all 80's! I even had one of the original BMX bikes, a Raleigh Burner with green 5 spoke wheels and green tyres, brand new! I was at the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival (big event at the time!) with the school!
That's right, u can't touch this was summer 1990, I remember it getting a lot of airtime on the radio during the School holidays. It makes me angry though the suggestion that because I was born in '79 that it doesn't make me an 80's kid, of course it does, 0-4 is toddler, 5-12 is your childhood (which for me is '84-'91), 12-18 is adolescence which was for me one of the hardest times, of course maybe the american and the british definitions of a 'kid' differ, 5-12 to me is a kid.
Some stuff here was more 90's (the wall-o-bangs was early 90's....80's was "the poof") and MC Hammer was right on the border between the two (Can't Touch this came out in '90) but yeah...I think the only thing I DIDN'T agree with here was the "had a crush on one of the Corey's"....never had a thing for either of them
As far as I'm concerned, if you were physically there in the 80's, you count, I was born in 1979 and remember the 80's clearly, probably my first recountable memories go back to roughly 1982, I remember my first day at primary school which was 1984, who said that the 8-12 year olds are the only ones that count, total crap as far as I'm concerned, if you can remember the 80's at all and you were there, you count, end of! The 90's sucked btw, except for 1997 when I passed my driving test!
@UofLCardFan08 Nah, don't agree, if you were born in '89 then you are a 90's kid as far as I'm concerned, I had my 10th birthday in '89, I lived through the 80's from second 1, don't care what you say, I remember the 80's and I enjoyed it, be that as it may with my age in single digits!
@UofLCardFan08 And BTW, just read your page, you were born in 1990, making me 11 years older than you, I lived through a decade you didn't even exist in!
@musiclover77able That's a workable and convenient definition for you, but for those of us born in 78-82/3, we're just as much entrenched in the decade. I was born in 80, don't remember anything before 1982 but the rest of the decade is very much mine to remember, and claim, thanks. I could argue there are parts of the mid and late 80s you were too old for, and a lot of hand-me-downs from older cousins for me to have a 70s fix. Whether you had 4 years of the 80s or all 10, you can claim it.
Obviously everyone's personal experience is different but i don't understand how anyboby born in the late 1970's or early 1980's can possibly be an 80's kid....
a lot of the sutff here you needed to be fully conscious & somewhat independent to experience, like following the fashion trends etc...seeing as we spent half the decade in diapers i don't really see how we can claim the 80's like that..
Born in 1977! Loved playing with my Transformers and G.I Joe action figures! Also collected the garbage pail kids cards/stickers. Embarrassed to say I also had a popples toy (the blue one)
@ragethegreat I still have my Masters of the Universe lunchbox metal lunchbox from 1983, my cousins were toting their metal Star Wars boxes in the 70s. The Goonies came out in '85. And kids in school used 'sike' long before the 90s.
The Fresh Prince, Saved By the Bell and MC Hammer were all 90s mainstays, though I think Saved by the Bell started around 88 or 89. But the groovy early 70s were much closer to the 60s than the later 70s, and the early 90s felt like the 80s continued.
@ragethegreat Yo putz Goonies came out in 85, Saved by the bell in 89, MC Hammer 87, the lunch boxes referenced are specifically 80s themed ones, and finally yes people in the 80s were saying psyche long before you thought to say it. So you need to stay your lane and not be a schmuck.
@ragethegreat The Goonies were VERY 80s (released in '85), "sike" was VERY 80s not 90s (I remember Eddie Murphy used it on "Delirious" in 1983). That fell out of popular usgae in the 90s, and lunch boxes were 80s, too. Saved By the Bell started in 1989 as well. I don't know why MC Hammer and Saved By the Bell were put in with the 80s, but the 90s can have them.
@Beatles0223 i was born in 1988 im not an 80's kid im a true 90's kid and im a wrestling fan and you know you're an 80's kid if you remember watching wrestling when hulk hogan was your childhood wrestling fan bret hart was my childhood wrestling fan from my childhood in the 90's
@ragethegreat saved by the bell started in 1989 and the goonies i think was 86 80s means 80-89 but for the most part saved by the bell was obviously in the 1990's and not to sure about fresh prince of bel air but i am sure that was mostly in the 1990's
I remember most of these things, hard to believe it's been over 20 years since these things were around. Slight nitpick, though, some of these things were more early 90s than 80s, but I guess it's no different than comparing American Graffiti to the 50s.
born between 1974-1985 can realisticly call self 80's child. reason why is if born in early 70's or before you were primarly teen in 80's yeah you may still been kid when 80's started but you turned 13 at some point and were teen for most of 80's. self explainatory for late 70's. now just cause we were born during 80's 80-85 dosen't mean we dont remember we do and were a child in 80's real defintion of child: person age 2-12. we were 5-10 years old when decade ended therefore it counts.
some of these lead me to think you were teen in 80's but then the carebears, and saved by the bell/ full house questions lead my mind to great wondering. there is a diffrence between a child and a teen and diffrence was big in 80's. i wish someone would make the proper questions in each catagorey.
I'm an '80 kid, too I remember so well those stickers" The Garbage Pail Kids" or "La Pandilla Basura" as they were known in Spanish (in Peru)for me they were disgusting.
Would of liked to of seen the Wham T-shirts saying "Choose Life", rah-rah skirts, white stilettos and the rubix cube. Those to me, say 80's all over them!!!
@sega31098 Seriously.. the 80's person used to see better than you when you were born, since they didn't stay like zombies infront of the PC or the TV as the kids of today, they had a life, and with that, a great view.
So this was mainly done for women since I definitely never had a crush on NKOTB, or any of the other guys in this video. I also never had any fracking care bears.
I do miss the 1980's. My whole family was alive. The Goonies & Back to the Future came out at the movies. He-Man were popular. Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings Books was the in thing. E.T. soared at the movies. Growing Pains, Perfect Strangers and Who's the Boss came around as sitcoms. Regular Nintendo was pretty cool. Micheal Jackson looked better than he was in the 90's. Hanging out at the arcade, ice cream parlor and roller rink as well as ice skating rink was cool.
I never know what to say, am i an 80's kid? Born in 84, I remember Timmy Mallet, Rubix Cubes, some of the things in the 90's like goosebumps I remember being abit young for me then, I have no idea?!
Yeah....that picture used to represent Molly Ringwald is Ree Drummond, aka the Pioneer Woman blogger. It's definitely copyrighted. Might want to take that off.
Yeah I was born in 1987 and I don't consider myself a 80's kid but a 90's kid.. though I have to say being born in 87 I got to see lots of 80's cartoons as many were still being shown even in the early 90's.
I wanted to beat up the New kids, I remember running home to see the world premier of "Thriller" on MTV back when they actually played music. I did the Safety Dance and pegged my pants. I can tell you the pic of the transformer is actually a Shogun Warrior. I had to buy my gear at the Belmont Army/Navy surplus or The Alley on Chicagos north side because there was no Hot Topic. And I remember WBMX fm 102.7 for it's introducing me to house music.
@mp3cycochic honestly to have been a kid not a toddler or preschooler in a decade you had to be born in the previous one. Im seriously if you werent born in b/w 1975 and 1980 you werent really a kid in the 80's. I mean NES came out in 1984 unless u were born prior to 1980 you wouldnt be old enough to have played with it. how many 3 year old play videos games
@chaveznieves lol, i didn't say that. born in 92 does not make you a 90's kid cause you miss the 90's decade by two years. which is 1990 and 1991, i know what im talking about. so that makes you the 2000's kid. being born on the decade doesn't make you a decades kid. ok if your a 90's kid, you would of been 27 and 28 years old or older. dont try to disprove it.
you clearly don't know what i'm talking about. so the fact that i grew up through most of the 90s, and the fact that almost all of my childhood memories COME from the 90s means nothing? the 00s decade is mostly teens for me. you don't have to be there for the WHOLE decade to be part of it. and if you believe otherwise i don't know what tell you. you must be a little delayed in the brain
@chaveznieves lol, dont be an ass. i know you spend your childhood there. i also was born in 92. i wasnt born yesterday, i know what your talkin about. the reason why we argue back in forth was you dont respect my point of view. thats why we have different answers about being a 90's kid. plus that comment was old. im not against you, use your common sense, i respect your views. winning the arguement is like winning the special olympics, but that means your still retarded.
@67tr876 hey dude, that comment is old, dont be a dick, you fuck face XD first of all, you dont know what is going on. so you should think before you type.
Damn, I was born in 1995. Im so pissed that i missed the good parts of the 90's and the 80's. I remember some/most of the 1990's stuff but i wish i was born in like 77 so i could experience it all. :(
My sister still has all of tapes. She still watches Jem, My Little Pony, J.I. Joe, Rainbow Bright, etc. all the 80's cartoons. She shows my very young neice and nephew the 80's cartoons and they love them. I was born in 1989 so I am proud to say I am a 90's kid! :)
You damn right! You and I have the same definition of what a true 80s kid is. You have to be born between 1972-1981. I'm officially an 80s kid because I was born in 1977, and when I was a child in the 80s, Smurfs, Transformers, Mr. T, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Atari, Miami Vice was all the rage. I remember the Challenger blew up. I remember Baby Jessica stuck on the well. If you didn't recall these things, then you are not an 80s kid, real talk!
This is probobly one of the most accurate 80's era despcriptions...I found myself nodding on almost all of these references and saying "OMG I remember that!" I had wonder woman underwear and WAS the Incredible Hulk for Holloween when I was five!!! I was born in 75 and rememember a time where the internet wasn't even somehting we couldn't of wrapped our minds around.
Hrrm I need to do a 1)european version for 2)ex-children who were allowed to watch exactly 30 minutes of tv per day all through the late 80s and 3)now feel damn old posting this but 4)actually think they didn't miss out on anything :-) Just where did all those horrible clothes come from if not tv?!?
i think your an 80s kid/child if your born between 70 and 75. Many people may disagree but the theory is your hitting all the early/mid/late 80s movies and music at the most influential ages ( 10 - 16) . Only my personal opinion though.
I wonder how many people didn't get to watch Fraggle Rock on TV (in the US) when it originally aired from 83-87. I was lucky since 1) my city just got cable TV and 2) my parent's paid for HBO which was the channel it was aired on. Just a wonder since cable was just coming out and HBO was a premium channel.
I saw Fraggle Rock around those years you are talking about. I was 6 years old when it first hit the air in 1983. My mother only had one cable channel, and that's HBO
born in 1987, I would say I'm more of 90's kid. I haven't a clue what some of this stuff is. I mean Iv'e heard about it. But, wasn't ever interested in any of it as a kid. Did friendship bracelets tho,
okay i wasnt born in the 80s but being born in the early 90s i can still know some of this stuff-its called parents that were born before the 80s taught it to us so stop freaken sayn oh you werent there for it so you wouldnt know well we do know because some of the 80s drains out into the 90 thats a fact!
All I'll say is I respect the 80's and I'm really hating how "teens" nowadays born in 1995-96 keep claiming they remember or "did" this stuff when they clearly weren't there for any of it
you were only an 80's kid if you were born late 60's to the mid 80's (age 5 to 15) in the 80's. if you were born 88, sorry you are not an 80's kid. sucking on a pacifier doesnt exactly giving you a low down on 80's culture first hand.
see, i was born in 86 and i watched the 90's vid first and was disapointed, i never got down with pokemon or alot of other crap in that video, but i remember absolutly everything from this 80's video, im in between i guess, best of both worlds. btw, you cant do that on television was my shit!
@Love4SK Being born in 69 means they have some 80s kid in them, but they're more 70s kid. It's kind of like how someone born in 1979 might have fond childhood memories of things from the early 90s, but are primarily an 80s kid. 11-12 are actually kinda cuspy IMO, early adolescence but still childhood at the same time. I know that when I was 11 and 12, I viewed the music and pop culture through the eyes of a teenager, but I still watched cartoons and played games with friends like a kid.

@UofLCardFan08 Nah, don't agree, if you were born in '89 then you are a 90's kid as far as I'm concerned, I had my 10th birthday in '89, I lived through the 80's from second 1, don't care what you say, I remember the 80's and I enjoyed it, be that as it may with my age in single digits!
themanmaschine 7 months ago
@UofLCardFan08 And BTW, just read your page, you were born in 1990, making me 11 years older than you, I lived through a decade you didn't even exist in!
themanmaschine 7 months ago
@themanmaschine
I never said I lived thorugh the 80's. I just felt like watching this video because I was tired of the 'Are you a 90's kid?' type videos.
UofLCardFan08 7 months ago
@musiclover77able That's a workable and convenient definition for you, but for those of us born in 78-82/3, we're just as much entrenched in the decade. I was born in 80, don't remember anything before 1982 but the rest of the decade is very much mine to remember, and claim, thanks. I could argue there are parts of the mid and late 80s you were too old for, and a lot of hand-me-downs from older cousins for me to have a 70s fix. Whether you had 4 years of the 80s or all 10, you can claim it.
NYisontop 9 months ago
@NYisontop

Since When Was That Term pyche/Sike 80's ?
Since When Was Mc Hammer 80's ?
Since When Was Lunch Box's 80's ?
I'll Let Y'all 80's Kid's Have The Goonies But Y'all 80's Kid's Need To Stay Ya Lane Some Of This Stuff Is Of The 90's Not 80's
ragethegreat 10 months ago 6
@ragethegreat I still have my Masters of the Universe lunchbox metal lunchbox from 1983, my cousins were toting their metal Star Wars boxes in the 70s. The Goonies came out in '85. And kids in school used 'sike' long before the 90s.
The Fresh Prince, Saved By the Bell and MC Hammer were all 90s mainstays, though I think Saved by the Bell started around 88 or 89. But the groovy early 70s were much closer to the 60s than the later 70s, and the early 90s felt like the 80s continued.
NYisontop 9 months ago

@ragethegreat Yo putz Goonies came out in 85, Saved by the bell in 89, MC Hammer 87, the lunch boxes referenced are specifically 80s themed ones, and finally yes people in the 80s were saying psyche long before you thought to say it. So you need to stay your lane and not be a schmuck.
cable501 5 months ago
@ragethegreat saved by the bell 1989 mc hammer he has a 1980s album.
ajbatesone 3 months ago
@ragethegreat The Goonies were VERY 80s (released in '85), "sike" was VERY 80s not 90s (I remember Eddie Murphy used it on "Delirious" in 1983). That fell out of popular usgae in the 90s, and lunch boxes were 80s, too. Saved By the Bell started in 1989 as well. I don't know why MC Hammer and Saved By the Bell were put in with the 80s, but the 90s can have them.

I remember most of these things, hard to believe it's been over 20 years since these things were around. Slight nitpick, though, some of these things were more early 90s than 80s, but I guess it's no different than comparing American Graffiti to the 50s.
MVillani1985 10 months ago
born between 1974-1985 can realisticly call self 80's child. reason why is if born in early 70's or before you were primarly teen in 80's yeah you may still been kid when 80's started but you turned 13 at some point and were teen for most of 80's. self explainatory for late 70's. now just cause we were born during 80's 80-85 dosen't mean we dont remember we do and were a child in 80's real defintion of child: person age 2-12. we were 5-10 years old when decade ended therefore it counts.
majormana1 10 months ago
some of these lead me to think you were teen in 80's but then the carebears, and saved by the bell/ full house questions lead my mind to great wondering. there is a diffrence between a child and a teen and diffrence was big in 80's. i wish someone would make the proper questions in each catagorey.

Just a really stupid question: Did people in the 1980s see in slightly blurred and opaque vision or did they see as vividly as people see today?

@sega31098 Seriously.. the 80's person used to see better than you when you were born, since they didn't stay like zombies infront of the PC or the TV as the kids of today, they had a life, and with that, a great view.

@mp3cycochic honestly to have been a kid not a toddler or preschooler in a decade you had to be born in the previous one. Im seriously if you werent born in b/w 1975 and 1980 you werent really a kid in the 80's. I mean NES came out in 1984 unless u were born prior to 1980 you wouldnt be old enough to have played with it. how many 3 year old play videos games

nope, if ur born in the 90's. that makes you a 00's kid.
marmolejoiscool92 1 year ago
@marmolejoiscool92
not at all. i was born in 92. so that makes me a 90s kid. what you said implies that you aren't a kid untill your atleast 10 years old
chaveznieves 1 year ago
@chaveznieves lol, i didn't say that. born in 92 does not make you a 90's kid cause you miss the 90's decade by two years. which is 1990 and 1991, i know what im talking about. so that makes you the 2000's kid. being born on the decade doesn't make you a decades kid. ok if your a 90's kid, you would of been 27 and 28 years old or older. dont try to disprove it.
marmolejoiscool92 1 year ago
@marmolejoiscool92
you clearly don't know what i'm talking about. so the fact that i grew up through most of the 90s, and the fact that almost all of my childhood memories COME from the 90s means nothing? the 00s decade is mostly teens for me. you don't have to be there for the WHOLE decade to be part of it. and if you believe otherwise i don't know what tell you. you must be a little delayed in the brain
chaveznieves 1 year ago
@chaveznieves lol, dont be an ass. i know you spend your childhood there. i also was born in 92. i wasnt born yesterday, i know what your talkin about. the reason why we argue back in forth was you dont respect my point of view. thats why we have different answers about being a 90's kid. plus that comment was old. im not against you, use your common sense, i respect your views. winning the arguement is like winning the special olympics, but that means your still retarded.

Agreed and agreed. My fifteen year old cousin is convinced she's a 90's kid, because of her coming into the world in 94. I think not.
