Here is exactly the point of God's perfect justice: NO ONE can withstand the approaching fire of God except those that are hidden in His Son. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
i like this version! her facial expressions are good. i like when she does her own little adding of notes at 2:55 starting with "when" and on the word "He" :) Like this alot!!!
Wonderful stuff. Now, we all know the people falling and getting cured is BS. There is a difference between belief in the unseen (The One Lord) and the power of suggestion and straight acting of Televangelists and their followers. Again, great music.
You almost start to pity her. She looks so serious and fearful. While she is actually just reading a passage from the bible where something is said/questioned. Its not ment to scare people. this just takes the true meaning out of the messiah. Especially with the people falling over in the video. What does this have to do with the text? And the title shouldn't be 'who can abide' but ' who may abide'
@ComradeDeath Händel was a very practical man how rewrote several arias for Messiah and other operas/oratorios. The altoversion was written for a virtouso altocastrato for the preformance in Dublin. The bassaria is in the originall. There is also a recetativ in some versions with the same text of this aria. So many versions indeed, but the altoversion is most preformed.
Is it such demonstrations of His power the Lord Jesus Christ? As for showmanship? What was noticeable in His life - to His perfect love for man or His power? What attracts you to God - his eternal love or His power?

This performance epitomizes everything that can be said for good music. Any attempt to describe it falls short..., but how about "Wow!"

@HerrWarja And when basses perform the aria these days, they also do so by transposing the alto version -- so that they can sing the fireworks too!

She is amazing! As a college musician, I love watching the greats for inspiration and in singing she's it. Her faces alone are epic.

Why is that Pastor passing demons to those brethren? I fear God and when I see people throwing themselves in church I am troubled.
