  • In Germany appeared "Wheels" with "Isle of Capri" as a B-side on London Records. When I was a kid, my parents let this pressing often run on their Perpetuum-Ebner music locker. Great music, which still today remains unforgotten. Have the single record still today and I can not part with it - it still like to put on my turntable Direct drive turntable Hitachi HT-355. Greetings from Germany.

  • my Dad drove a 40 ft tractor trailer and always loved this song.

  • Did he cover the String-a-Longs' version, or was it the other way around?

  • @MrSkokiaan I think the String-a-Longs' version was released a few months before Billy Vaughn's but they both were hits almost simultaneously with Billy's version being the higher rated one on some world charts and the String-a-Longs on others.

  • kmikeyd-Lucky, lucky you! What an amazing experience that must have been--scared or not! Love Billy Vaughn-thanks Mom for all the great music you introduced us to as little kids growing up on a farm outside smalltown southern Alberta Canada.

  • This takes me back to my college days. I had the awesome privilige of accompanying Pat Boone at the piano when he performed at Abilene Christian University in the 1960s. I couldn't believe that he didn't bring his own accompanist. Scared the daylights out of me!

  • Great instrumental! Hard to chose between this version and The Stringalongs version. Both are Great! Thanks!
