Try Fingerpicking. Your doing well for a beginner. Learning songs won't help you as much as learning tecniques (and of course, other stuff). I'm just letting you know that. But you are doing well. :] If you got a question lemme know. I've been playing bass for 1.5 years now :D

hey very nice job. for a month and a half you have a lot to be proud of. Ive been playing guitar for quite a while now, and i just started bass two weeks ago so i too am i beginner at it. one tip i can give you is try fingerpicking i got the hang of it after about an hour of practicing. It sounds a lot better than a pick in my opinion. But if you prefer to use a pick thats cool too, just do what allows you to rock the hardest =).
