I understand their concerns, but has nobody told them life isn't always fair? They knew what the job paid when they hired on, so what did they expect? Since when is this the way to get a raise in salary? That should be decided by the individual's effort and their willingness to ask for a raise in a respectful manner.
@mrbr549 When employers systematically lie about the employee's hours in order to underpay them, they are the kind of employers that should NOT benefit from generous public subsidies.
@charliedotcoop Agreed, however the claim that they are deliberately under-documenting hours to lower payroll cost is very serious, and should be backed by evidence to the fact. This evidence ( or copy) should be turned over to the state and/or local labor authorities. The Baltimore Development Corporation should also be made aware of any such documented evidence. Accusations without any supporting evidence are just accusations. I'm all for good paying jobs, but let's keep it real.
